Chapter 7 A Pair

Chapter 7 A Pair

The classroom erupted in chaos upon the arrival of Xie Sheng and the tall, beautiful woman behind him.

"Am I seeing things? Why is Brother Sheng here?!"

"Isn't the focus on Sister Yan? Why is Sister Yan here too?!"

"Mom no longer has to worry about me skipping school."

"Could I still be dreaming, and school hasn't actually started yet? Otherwise, who can explain why those two are in the same frame and in our classroom!"

The teacher was probably bewildered by the students in the classroom, who seemed to be on steroids. He just stared at the two people who came in through the door, speechless.

...

"Teacher, shouldn't we introduce ourselves?" Pu Xia reminded him.

The homeroom teacher, Brother Yan, seemed to wake up from a dream and came to his senses. "Oh right, self-introduction. Class, please be quiet and let us hear the new student's self-introduction."

He should have kept quiet, because once he did, the laughter in the classroom grew even louder.

"Who doesn't know Brother Sheng and Sister Yan?"

"Are you stupid? The teacher is talking about a new student."

"Oh right, there's a new classmate."

Xie Sheng had already walked up to Pu Xia and leaned down slightly to whisper in her ear, "Do you think it would be quite exciting in the classroom... um."

Before he could finish speaking, Pu Xia stomped hard on Xie Sheng's foot without any expression.

But in reality, she was far less composed than she appeared; her ears, unseen by others, were already flushed.

The self-introduction session, which was supposed to be less than ten minutes long, dragged on for half a class period. In the end, the homeroom teacher, Yan, had to ask the three of them to return to their seats to interrupt the endless questioning session.

"Honestly, if you had this kind of dedication in class, you could have become the top student in the city, or even the top student in the province."

It was unrealistic to start the lesson directly in the first class, let alone the fact that the first half of the class started in the same way.

Yan Ge simply gave a brief overview of the new semester and then let everyone discuss changing seats among themselves.

Pu Xia didn't know anyone, and she didn't want to know Xie Sheng at all, so there was nothing to negotiate. She sat firmly in the last row where she had sat in the morning.

Then she saw Xie Sheng stand up from the remaining front-row seats from the morning, hands in his pockets, and walk towards her.

Pu Xia was on edge, wishing she could protect the person next to her with her hands.

Just then, a woman's voice asked from the other side, "Is this seat taken?"

Pu Xia turned around and saw Guan Yan, who had come in with Xie Sheng earlier and was called "Sister Yan".

Pu Xia shook his head.

The woman with medium-length hair didn't ask any more questions. She reached out and hung her bag on the back of the chair, obediently sat down next to her, and then blatantly put on her headphones.

Xie Sheng arrived at this moment and looked at Guan Yan, who had already taken a seat next to Pu Xia. He said in his usual leisurely tone, "How about we switch seats, Sister Yan?"

Guan Yan took off one earphone, raised her eyebrows, and asked back, "Why?"

Cool.

If the occasion had allowed, Pu Xia would have loved to applaud.

Having been here for so long, this was the first time she had seen someone so assertive in front of Xie Sheng, especially since his aura hadn't been suppressed.

"Because no one treats their benefactor like that."

Guan Yan frowned, realizing that Xie Sheng was after the freshman next to her.

She glanced at Pu Xia beside her. The girl didn't show much reaction on her face, but her beautiful eyes were full of vigilance.

Guan Yan clicked her tongue inwardly. Although she didn't know what kind of grudge this freshman who had transferred from another place could have against Xie Sheng, judging from the degree of her resistance, if she gave in, she would probably have a lot of trouble.

"Brother Sheng, I'll make up for what I owe you when I get the chance. I really like this spot." After saying that, Guan Yan put her headphones back on, giving off a "do whatever you want, I'm not giving it up" vibe.

Upon hearing this, Xie Sheng frowned. Pu Xia's heart skipped a beat, fearing a conflict might arise. However, to her utter surprise, Xie Sheng simply gave up.

He walked to the other side of Pu Xia, and this time he didn't encounter any problems. The boy sitting to Pu Xia's left very tactfully gave up his seat, saying, "Brother Sheng, please sit down."

Bully.

Pu Xia sneered inwardly.

In any case, they were finally separated by an aisle, and Pu Xia was already quite content with that.

After all, given Xie Sheng's audacious and reckless nature, if they really became deskmates, she completely believed he would keep the words he had whispered in her ear.

Although the two rarely crossed paths after that day, Pu Xia did not miss his menacing and malicious gaze.

......

Because of the arrival of the so-called school celebrity, the door of Class 8, Grade 11 became very lively after class. A group of people rushed into the classroom and pulled the two out.

Pu Xia also saw Zhou Yuhao, but this time he didn't greet her warmly and even quickly avoided eye contact with her.

People poured out, and there weren't many people left in the classroom.

Pu Xia sat quietly in his seat, flipping through his textbook and comparing it with what he had learned before.

Back when she was in S City, although she wasn't a model student and often hung out with friends, her grades were always pretty good.

This is perhaps the main reason why her perfectionist mother hasn't completely given up on her.

But now it's practically the same as giving up completely, isn't it?

Thinking of this, her gaze turned deep and dark, and her fingernails involuntarily dug into the pages of the book.

"Puxia?"

A voice suddenly rang out, bringing her back to her senses.

"Your name is Pu Xia, right?" A girl sitting in front of her greeted her.

Pu Xia nodded.

"I'm Chen Yu, and I'm also our class's study committee member," the girl introduced herself enthusiastically, then continued, "I noticed you've been looking at the textbook the whole time. How is it? Isn't the difficulty level here much easier than in your S City?"

"The content isn't much different, but I don't know how difficult the exam will be."

"It must be much simpler than yours. Were you a top student before? You look like a real academic star."

Pu Xia couldn't help but laugh. "Looking like a top student" meant that she had dyed her previously blue-gray hair black, or removed the row of earrings from her ears, or perhaps covered up her tattoos.

She wasn't interested in explaining, so she simply said, "Learning means having more choices."

"That's what I think too!" Chen Yu exclaimed excitedly, as if she had found a kindred spirit.

Just then, a burst of laughter came from outside. Looking in the direction of the sound, the handsome man and beautiful woman surrounded by the crowd were very eye-catching. A group of people were making strange noises around them, but the two of them remained calm and had a strong aura.

One of them was looking calmly into the classroom, his gaze seemingly falling on Pu Xia, while the other leaned against the railing next to him, looking down at his phone.

“They do look like a good match,” Chen Yu couldn’t help but say.

Then she noticed that Pu Xia, who had been indifferent and seemed uninterested in anything, was looking at her with a rare look of confusion.

"The most blatant couple in our school, they do everything except study. Birds of a feather flock together, I guess."

Chen Yu pursed her lips, but her gaze couldn't leave the two people. "It's not surprising that Xie Sheng repeated a grade. At the end of last semester, he and his gang of thugs went to the vocational school and took down the school's top leader. It caused quite a stir."

But Guan Yan didn't know what was going on, so she decided to stay with Xie Sheng. Anyway, repeating a year didn't matter to people like them...

"Are they a couple?" Pu Xia suddenly interrupted her.

"yes."

Chen Yu was stunned after she finished speaking. She noticed that the freshman, who had been indifferent and seemed uninterested in anything, had smiled.

"very good."

There was no smile in her eyes, but rather a dangerous aura, which added a touch of vibrancy and sharpness to her originally aloof temperament.
