Chapter 246 I Found My Biological Parents

Chapter 246 I Found My Biological Parents

Yun Zheng slowly raised her eyes, and her long eyelashes cast a shadow under her eyes.

Her pupils seemed to be filled with a bottomless pool of water, with complex emotions surging in it.

Cen Lian'an had never seen such a Yun Zheng before.

The almond-shaped eyes that always contained a smile were now bloodshot, with a faint bluish-black tint under the eyelids, and the whole person seemed to have lost all his energy.

Cen Lian didn't say anything, but just gently put the glass in her hand to her best friend's lips again, and the warm water vapor condensed into tiny water droplets at the rim of the cup.

When the rim of the cup touched Yun Zheng's pale lips, she subconsciously shrank back.

"Just drink a sip, okay?" Cen Lian'an's voice was very soft, and the ending tone trembled slightly.

She leaned forward, her free hand unconsciously clutching the hem of her pajamas, her knuckles turning white from the strain.

Yun Zheng finally opened her cracked lips slightly and took a small sip obediently.

As soon as the warm water slid into her throat, her body suddenly shook violently.

"Cough cough--" A heart-wrenching cough broke the silence in the room. Drops of water overflowed from the corners of her mouth, dripped down her chin and fell onto the wrinkled collar, leaving a dark water mark.

"Zheng Zheng!" Cen Lian hurriedly put down the water glass, and the bottom of the glass hit the bedside table, making a crisp sound.

She reached out and patted Yun Zheng's thin back to help her calm down.

The coughing sound echoed in the dim bedroom, and Yun Zheng's tears rolled down, leaving winding tear marks on her cheeks.

She clutched the corner of the quilt tightly, her knuckles turning blue and white, as if she was grasping at the last straw.

Cen Lian'an's eyes instantly turned red.

She looked at her best friend's painful expression, and her chest felt like it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand.

The moment Yun Zheng bent down, her long hair fell down like a waterfall, covering her pale face. Only her constantly shaking shoulders revealed her fragility.

Cen Lian couldn't bear it any longer and hugged the person in his arms.

She could feel Yun Zheng's heartbeat through the thin fabric, fast and irregular.

"I'm fine..." Yun Zheng gasped and squeezed out a few words, her voice as hoarse as if it had been sandpapered.

She tried to straighten herself up, but was overcome by another fit of coughing.

Cen Lian'an's palm gently stroked her back, and with the other hand he tucked her messy hair behind her ear, revealing her tear-stained face.

How could it be okay? Cen Li'an asked himself.

She and Yun Zheng had known each other since they were wearing open-crotch pants. She had seen each other in all kinds of ways over the past 20 years, but she had never seen Yun Zheng look so devastated.

The only sounds in the room were the ticking of the clock and Yun Zheng's gradually calming breathing.

Cen Lian maintained the hug until he felt Yun Zheng's trembling slowly stop.

She quietly wiped the corners of her eyes, not daring to let her best friend see her tears.

"An An..." Yun Zheng suddenly spoke, her voice still hoarse, but calmer than before.

Cen Li'an immediately responded, "Yes, I'm here."

She kept a little distance from him, still holding Yun Zheng's shoulders with both hands, afraid that she would fall if she let go.

The dim light from the bedside lamp reflected on Yun Zheng's face, outlining her haggard features.

Cen Lian noticed that there was a row of clear teeth marks on her lower lip, which was obviously caused by biting herself when she was trying hard to suppress her emotions.

"Did anything happen to you when you went to Country A?"

Cen Li'an asked tentatively, his thumb unconsciously stroking the fabric of Yun Zheng's shoulders. "Tell me, we can find a way to solve this together."

She tried to make her voice sound calm, but she couldn't control her speaking speed which was getting faster and faster.

Yun Zheng raised her red eyes, her lips trembling as they opened and closed, as if her throat was being strangled by invisible shackles.

This action made Cen Li'an's hair explode instantly!

"Did that bastard Fu Linghe bully you again?" Cen Lian suddenly sat up, rolled up his pajamas sleeves, revealing his well-defined forearms.

Her eyebrows almost stood up, and her eyes were burning with anger. "I knew he was not a good person! If he dared to bully you, he would have to see if I agreed or not!"

As he said this, he was already making a gesture as if he was going to rush out to fight, and even kicked one of his slippers away.

Yun Zheng hurriedly reached out and grabbed the corner of Cen Lian'an's clothes with such force that the fabric was deformed.

"An An, it's none of his business." She explained anxiously, her voice becoming hoarse with the effort.

Cen Lian'an paused as if the pause button was pressed and slowly turned around.

She took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and kicked off her other slipper as she sat back on the bed.

"Then tell me what's going on?" She held Yun Zheng's cold hand and found that Yun Zheng's fingertips were trembling uncontrollably.

Yun Zheng looked over Cen Lian'an's shoulder and looked forward with empty eyes.

A tear silently slid down her face, lingering on her thin chin for a moment before finally falling on their clasped hands. "An An, I... found them." Her voice was as light as a feather.

"They? Who are they?" Cen Lian didn't react for a moment, and tilted his head with a confused expression.

Her brain was working rapidly. Who in Country A could make Yun Zheng become like this?

The room was eerily quiet.

Yun Zheng closed her eyes in pain, and after a moment, she managed to utter five words with difficulty: "My biological parents."

"What...what?" Cen Lian'an's voice suddenly rose, like a cat whose tail was stepped on.

Her eyes widened and she jumped up from the bed, almost hitting the bedside table because of her violent movement.

"You said you found your biological parents? Zheng Zheng, was I hallucinating?" As she said that, she reached out and twisted her thigh hard, causing her to gasp in pain.

Yun Zheng shook her head slightly, her face as pale as paper.

"This...isn't this a happy event?" Cen Lian slowly squatted down, holding Yun Zheng's shoulders with both hands, and his voice softened unconsciously.

She looked carefully at Yun Zheng's expression, but found that her eyes were filled with emotions that she could not understand.

"But why do you look unhappy?" She frowned, a terrible possibility suddenly occurred to her. "Are they... bad people?"

Yun Zheng's eyelashes trembled, but she didn't answer immediately.

Cen Li'an immediately straightened his back and said firmly, "Zheng Zheng, if they treat you badly, you can just disown them. You have me, your godfather and godmother, we are your family."

She became increasingly excited, her words rapid-fire. "By the way, who are they? Do I know them?"

"Country A, Mohist School." Yun Zheng whispered these four words, her voice so soft that it was almost inaudible.

"Mohism?" Cen Lian felt it sounded familiar at first, but soon her expression changed from confusion to shock, and finally to disbelief.

She suddenly covered her mouth, her eyes wide. "Are you talking about the Mo family, the top financial group in Country A? The Mo Group that controls half of Country A's economy?"

Yun Zheng nodded imperceptibly.

This movement seemed to drain the last bit of her strength, and her shoulders slumped.

"Fuck!" Cen Lian cursed and sat down on the floor, completely disregarding his image.

She looked up at Yun Zheng, as if meeting her best friend for the first time. "Zheng Zheng, are you the eldest daughter of the Mo Group?"

Seeing that Yun Zheng did not deny it, Cen Lian'an's brain started to work rapidly.

She suddenly grabbed Yun Zheng's hand, her tone becoming excited. "Wait, this is good news! A big family like the Mo family is different from those vampires in the Yun family. They can be your backers, and no one will dare to look down on you from now on!"

She paused mid-sentence, tilting her head in confusion. "But... why are you so sad?"
