Chapter 264 Fu Linghe is never a multiple choice question
Old Master Mo's expression froze, and before he could open his mouth, he heard Yun Zheng's voice again.
"The grudges between the Mo family and the Fu family for generations cannot be dispelled in a short time. I am very clear about this."
Yun Zheng's voice was calm, and her expression showed no emotion, but the hand that was clutching her handbag betrayed her true feelings and inner struggle.
There was a slight tremor in her tone, but her eyes were looking at Mr. Mo firmly.
"I can only choose one between you and Fu Linghe, but Fu Linghe has never been a choice for me."
Yun Zheng's words were not blurted out on impulse, but were the result of careful consideration.
Mo Shi'an and Old Man Mo looked at each other, and neither of them was surprised by what Yun Zheng said.
Yesterday they went to the Yun family and learned more about Yun Zheng's past.
They knew very well that Fu Linghe was salvation to Yun Zheng, the sunshine that pierced the darkness, and an irreplaceable existence.
"Mr. Mo, you just said that recognizing you and being with Fu Linghe are not in conflict, but the Mo family can't take the initiative to resolve the feud between the two families for so many years just because of me, right?"
Old Master Mo was silent for a moment, looking at Yun Zheng with deep eyes.
He slowly put down the teacup in his hand, and the porcelain made a slight sound when it touched the sandalwood table.
"Kid, you're right." His voice was low and vicissitudes. "The grudge between the Mo family and the Fu family cannot be resolved overnight."
Yun Zheng pursed her lips slightly, and a complex emotion flashed in her eyes.
Mo Shian stood aside, his brows furrowed, as if he wanted to say something, but held himself back.
Ever since he hurt his sister with his bad mouth last time, he has not dared to speak easily.
"But," Mr. Mo suddenly changed the subject, his eyes piercing, "Why do you think the Mo family won't try to change for you?"
Yun Zheng was stunned, and the fingertips holding the handbag turned slightly white.
"We missed you for over twenty years, and now we've finally found you. Do we have to watch you suffer?"
Old Master Mo sighed, his tone filled with heartache, "Zheng Zheng, you are the blood of the Mo family, and you are also our family."
Yun Zheng's eyes were red. She turned her face away and spoke in a voice so soft that it was almost inaudible, "But this is unfair to you...isn't it?"
"There's no such thing as fairness or unfairness among family members." Mo Shi'an finally spoke. He walked in front of Yun Zheng, his eyes gentle but firm. "As long as you're happy, nothing else matters."
Yun Zheng raised her head and looked at her brother who was related to her by blood. The ice in her heart seemed to be slowly melting.
Old Master Mo stood up, walked to the window with his cane, and said with his back to them, "I've also seen that kid from the Fu family. Although I don't want to admit it, he is indeed a good young man and a good match for you."
"We hope you can return to your roots, but we won't force you to make a choice. Grudges are dead, but people are alive."
The old man's voice echoed in the empty living room, but it was firm and long. "Even if you recognize us, you are still Fu Linghe's wife. We just want to give you confidence and be your backer."
A look of surprise flashed in Yun Zheng's eyes, and her fingertips rubbed her handbag unconsciously, her knuckles turning slightly white due to the force.
She lowered her eyes, and her long eyelashes cast a shadow under her eyes, covering the emotions surging in her eyes.
Mr. Mo turned around, and the sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto his silver hair, giving it a soft golden edge.
He looked at Yun Zheng's tense face and sighed softly, "Zheng Zheng, our presence may have disrupted your peaceful life, but this was not our intention. I hope you can understand."
Mo Shi'an noticed that Yun Zheng's knuckles were turning white, and calmly poured a glass of warm water and handed it to her, "Drink some water first."
Yun Zheng turned her head and looked at him deeply, then finally took the cup of water, the warmth passing through the wall of the cup to her palm.
She took a sip and found the water temperature was just right, neither hot nor cold.
This detail warmed her heart a little, and she looked up at Mo Shian.
Mo Shi'an's uneasy heart finally settled back into his chest the moment Yun Zheng took the cup of water.
He thought she would not answer, so it seemed he still had a chance to get her forgiveness.
Yun Zheng withdrew her gaze, her fingers unconsciously stroking the cup in her hand.
She was very confused and didn't know what to do next.
She admitted that it was hard not to be moved by what Mr. Mo said.
But she couldn't tell whether he could really do what he promised.
Mr. Mo could see that she was struggling, and a gentle smile appeared on his wrinkled face.
He patted Yun Zheng's shoulder gently, with very little force, as if afraid of disturbing her thoughts.
"Zheng Zheng, there's no need to rush to answer." His voice was like aged wine, carrying the calmness accumulating over the years. "Take your time to think about it. Make a decision when you've made up your mind."
Yun Zheng raised her head and met the old man's kind gaze.
There was no coercion in that look, only understanding and tolerance, which made her tense nerves relax a little.
Mo Shian also spoke at the right time, "We will not return to Country A for the time being. You can contact us at any time during this period."
He paused and added, "Of course, if you don't want to see us, we won't bother you."
"Whatever choice you make, we will respect it unconditionally, even if you don't want to recognize us."
When Mo Shian said this, his tone was a little cautious, for fear of angering the sister he had found with great difficulty again.
Yun Zheng lowered her eyes, and her long eyelashes cast a faint shadow under the light.
——
The President's Office of Fu Group.
Special Assistant Qi received a phone call and hurried from the secretariat into the president's office.
Fu Linghe was processing documents with his head down. When he saw Assistant Qi running in rashly, a hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes.
He tapped the tabletop lightly with his slender fingers, and glanced coldly at Assistant Qi who had barged in: "Assistant Qi, you'd better have something more important than my files."
Qi felt a chill on his back, and stepped forward with gritted teeth, "Boss Fu, Madam... went to the Junlan Hotel to meet Mo Shian and the others."
When Fu Linghe heard the word "Madam", the pen suddenly stopped between his fingers, and ink dripped onto the contract, spreading a dark color.
He slowly raised his eyes, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes, "When did it happen?"
"The bodyguard over there said that he just arrived not long ago." Assistant Qi swallowed and spoke carefully.
The emotions on Fu Linghe's face were somewhat complicated, making it difficult to understand.
Assistant Qi stood in front of the desk, looking at the silent president, feeling oppressive.
Just when he was thinking about asking the president what to do, he suddenly spoke.
"Get the car ready." Fu Linghe stood up, his slender fingers buttoning his suit. His movements were elegant yet carried an irresistible sense of oppression. "Now."
Assistant Qi immediately responded respectfully, "Okay, President."
