Chapter 308 I am extremely possessive!
Cen Lian'an's ears felt hot because of Jiang Chenyu's minty whisper. Just as he was about to turn his head, his jaw was suddenly pinched by slender fingers.
"I'm right in front of you, why are you looking at others?" Jiang Chenyu curled his lips slightly, but a dangerous light flashed in his eyes.
His slender fingers gently pinched Cen Lian's chin, with just the right amount of force to prevent her from looking away.
She was caught off guard and bumped into his amber pupils, in which were reflected two small versions of herself, like prey trapped in the territory of a wild beast.
This possessive look made Cen Lian'an's breathing stop!
She could see the jealousy swirling in his eyes, like a wolfhound whose territory had been invaded. He was obviously furious, but he still had to maintain his composure in front of her.
"I..." She was about to explain when Jiang Chenyu's thumb pressed on her lips.
"Shh." He said in a low voice, "No need to explain."
His gaze slowly moved down from her eyes, finally settling on that bright red.
Cen Lian could feel his breathing becoming heavier, and his warm breath sprayed on her face.
The noise of the guests around her seemed to fade away, and the only thing left in her world was the man so close to her.
"Jiang Chenyu..." She called him softly, her voice trembling without her even noticing.
"Hmm?" he responded, but suddenly leaned over and pecked her lightly on the lips.
The kiss was so fast that it almost seemed like an illusion, but it made Cen Lian'an blush instantly.
"What are you doing! There are so many people here..." She looked around in panic, afraid that someone would see her extraordinary behavior.
Jiang Chenyu smiled like a child who had succeeded in a prank. "Mark it so that no one will be blinded."
After saying that, he did not forget to glance at Cheng Yuxiao on the stage, and the provocation in his eyes was too obvious.
On the stage, Cheng Yuxiao's face looked extremely ugly.
He stared at the intimate couple in the back row, his hands hanging at his sides clenched into fists.
The next second, he suddenly rushed down from the stage, his eyes fixed on Cen Lian who was not far away.
The air in the entire venue was stagnant at this moment. He walked through the crowd, and wherever he went, the guests unconsciously made way for him.
Before Cen Lian'an could react, his wrist was grabbed by a brute force.
Cheng Yuxiao's fingers gripped her like a pair of pliers, so tightly that it hurt her.
"Cheng Yuxiao! What are you doing?" She struggled, trying to break free from his restraints, but he held her tighter.
Jiang Chenyu just turned around to get her a glass of juice when Cen Lian was dragged away.
Her eyes flashed, and she was about to step forward, but was blocked by several guests who suddenly surrounded her.
He watched Cheng Yuxiao dragging Cen Lian'an and disappearing through the side door, his amber pupils suddenly constricting.
"Get out of here!" His voice was terribly low.
In the garden, the breeze carried the scent of roses. Cheng Yuxiao dragged Cen Lian'an all the way to the fountain, far away from the hustle and bustle of the banquet hall, where only the sound of gurgling water could be heard.
"Are you crazy?" Cen Lian finally broke free from his grip, and red fingerprints appeared on his white wrist.
She took two steps back, her back resting against the wall of the fountain.
Cheng Yuxiao's chest was heaving violently, and his tie had already loosened.
His gaze fell on Cen Lian'an's lips that were kissed by Jiang Chenyu, and his eyes darkened.
"An An, I'm sorry." He suddenly softened his tone and reached out to touch her face, but she turned her head away. "I was wrong. She schemed against me. She has a child. They forced me, everyone forced me!"
Cheng Yuxiao's hands were weakly inserted into his hair, and he looked like a child who had done something wrong.
Cheng Yuxiao suddenly stepped forward and hugged Cen Lian tightly in his arms.
His arms were shaking violently, like a drowning man grasping at a last piece of driftwood.
"An An, I'm not clean anymore. Do you not want me anymore?" His voice was muffled in her shoulder, and his hot tears soaked through the thin straps of her dress. "I lost you..."
Cen Lian froze in place, the water from the fountain splashing onto her bare back, freezing cold.
"Cheng Yuxiao." She finally spoke, her voice cold and without a trace of warmth, "Let go!"
Cheng Yuxiao held his hand tighter, as if Cen Lian would not leave. "I won't let go, An An, I like you, and only you..."
Before he finished speaking, a figure flashed by.
Before Cheng Yuxiao could see clearly, he was punched hard in the face.
He stumbled backward, knocking over a carved bronze lamppost.
Jiang Chenyu slowly moved his wrists, held Cen Lian slightly behind him, raised his hand and touched her little face to comfort her, "Stand here and don't move. Wait for me."
The moment Jiang Chenyu turned around, the tenderness in his eyes disappeared.
He loosened his tie with one hand, like a black panther locking onto its prey in the misty fountain. Cheng Yuxiao wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and suddenly laughed softly.
"Jiang Chenyu, An An is mine, don't even think about snatching her away!" He spat out a mouthful of blood foam and raised his hand to wipe the blood stains from the corner of his lips. "We have been together for more than 10 years, how can you destroy our relationship in a day or a night!"
Before he could finish his words, Jiang Chenyu's fist hit his abdomen with a sound of wind.
Cheng Yuxiao groaned and knelt on the cobblestone road.
"Oh, more than 10 years of relationship." Jiang Chenyu squatted down and sneered, "Then why isn't she the heroine of your engagement party today?"
Jiang Chenyu grabbed Cheng Yuxiao's tie and lifted him up violently.
Cheng Yuxiao's breath was choked, his face flushed red, and a painful groan escaped from his throat.
"Ten years?" Jiang Chenyu sneered, his voice low and cruel, "You spent ten years turning her into a spare tire, and now you want to use ten years of love as an excuse."
He suddenly approached, his breath burning, brushing against the blood-stained corners of Cheng Yuxiao's lips. "The most ridiculous thing is, you don't even have the most basic responsibility of a man. You just gave in when you were plotted against, and you want her to swallow all the grievances with the word 'forced'?"
Cheng Yuxiao struggled to defend himself, but after hearing his words, he dropped his hands powerlessly, and only uttered a low groan, "You don't understand..."
Jiang Chenyu immediately let go of his hand, and he collapsed to the ground like a kite with a broken string.
"I don't understand?" He ripped open her collar, anger surging in his eyes. "All I know is that you don't even have the courage to protect her."
"You made her stand on the stage at your engagement party, watching you exchange rings with someone else, and now you're crying about being 'unclean'?" He sneered, "It's never your body that's dirty, it's this rotten heart of yours!"
Cheng Yuxiao's pupils suddenly contracted and his breathing became rapid.
Jiang Chenyu grabbed his hair, forced him to look up, and said word by word, "You want the fish and the bear's paw, but you insist on playing the victim!"
"You are cowardly and greedy, and you are worthy of talking about love?"
Cen Lian's fingertips trembled, and the hem of her skirt was wrinkled.
"You've spent ten years proving yourself unworthy."
"As a latecomer, I'm fighting and vying for the top spot. We're destined to be the last to go."
He let go of his hand, looked at Cheng Yuxiao panting in dismay with cold eyes, and finally said, "Remember, you are not even qualified to be her backup."
Jiang Chenyu picked up Cen Lian and carried her sideways. She subconsciously put her arms around his neck and rested her cheek on his strong chest.
The leather shoes made a slight rustling sound as they stepped on the scattered rose petals.
After walking a few steps, he suddenly stopped.
The sunlight cast a sharp shadow on the side of his face, and his jawline was extremely taut.
"Cheng Yuxiao."
He didn't look back, and his voice was as cold as ice.
"An An is my girlfriend now, and I'm very possessive."
Cen Lian felt the vibration in his chest, the sound was low and dangerous.
"If you dare to get even a step closer to him, it won't be as simple as a beating."
Jiang Chenyu tilted his head slightly, his amber pupils shrinking into a thin line in the sunlight.
Cen Lian'an in her arms felt a stir in her heart, and she raised her eyes and stared at his profile in a daze.
He immediately tightened his arms, and his eyes were gentle when he lowered his head.
"Scared?" He stroked the corners of her red eyes with his thumb.
Cen Lian shook his head and buried his face in the crook of his neck.
Jiang Chenyu stretched out his long legs and carried her through the garden archway.
Cheng Yuxiao's hoarse voice came from behind: "An An!"
He didn't look back.
Cen Lian clutched the front of his shirt.
"I'm here." He kissed the top of her head. "Let's go home."
The sunlight blended the two people's shadows together, stretching them out long on the cobblestone path.
The sound of the fountain in the distance gradually faded, leaving only the sound of their intertwined breathing.
Jiang Chenyu carried Cen Lian'an into the car, his movements as gentle as if he were handling fragile porcelain.
The moment the car door closed, he immediately noticed that her body was unnaturally tense, and her right foot was slightly hanging, not daring to touch the ground completely.
"Your foot hurts again?" His voice suddenly dropped. He unbuttoned his suit with one hand and leaned over to take a look. The doctor had clearly said she had almost recovered.
Cen Lian subconsciously wanted to shrink back, but he grabbed his calf.
As the hem of her skirt slipped down, a glaring redness and swelling was exposed at her ankle, which was much more serious than before the banquet. There was even a purple bruise under her skin.
Jiang Chenyu's breathing became noticeably heavier, his knuckles white from pinching. He remembered that before leaving the house today, she had smiled and told him, "You can now wear high heels."
"Did Cheng Yuxiao pull it?" There was a terrifying coldness in his voice, but his thumb gently stroked her swollen skin.
The old wound that had already healed was torn apart by external force. No wonder she couldn't even stand steadily in the garden just now.
Cen Lian pursed his lips and said nothing, his eyelashes casting a shadow under his eyes.
"Go back to Lanxu Pavilion." He pushed down the partition and said to the driver, then suddenly pulled off his tie and wrapped it around his palm.
Before Cen Lian'an could react, she felt her ankle wrapped in warmth. He actually used his tie as a cushion and applied ice to her ankle through the silk.
"You..." She stared blankly at this man who was always noble in the eyes of outsiders. He was now kneeling on one knee on the car mat, and his hand-made suit pants were wrinkled.
He lowered his head with a look of concentration that was almost pious, as if what was in his palm was not her sprained ankle, but some rare treasure.
For a moment, the only sound in the car was the faint sound of the air conditioner.
Until she suddenly gasped, and Jiang Chenyu's fingertips accidentally touched the most serious part of the injury.
"Hold on." He immediately softened his pressure, his voice hoarse. "The apartment I took you to last time had medicine. It's closer than the hospital."
Cen Lian didn't say anything, just looked at him quietly, his eyes red like a rabbit.
Jiang Chenyu probably noticed his gaze and suddenly looked up.
The sunlight slanted in through the car window, making his eyebrows and eyes look as sharp as if they were carved by a knife, but they softened the moment he saw him.
The car drove into the tunnel, and in the darkness she heard him unbutton his watch and throw it aside.
The next second, a minty kiss fell on her trembling eyelids, mixed with a hint of blood. She didn't know whether it was his or Cheng Yuxiao's.
"Close your eyes and rest." He pressed her head against his shoulder. "I'll call you when we get home."
Cen Lian quietly clutched the shirt on his chest. He could hear a violent heartbeat under the fabric, but he couldn't tell whose it was.
