Chapter 429 If I were like you, I would be really disappointed
Fu Linghe stood at the door of the ward, looking at the scene inside through the half-open door, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously rose.
He pushed the door open, walked behind Yun Zheng, and placed his warm hand naturally on her shoulder.
"Let's not disturb Miss Cen's rest." He whispered, with an irresistible tenderness in his voice.
"Just received news that Xiao Yunshu woke up and kept crying. We should go back."
Yun Zheng stood up immediately upon hearing this, a mother's anxiety evident on her face. "How long have you been crying? Are you hungry? Or feeling unwell?"
Fu Linghe squeezed her shoulder soothingly. "The confinement nanny said she was upset because she didn't see you when she woke up. Little Yunyi was well behaved, playing with her fingers while waiting for us to return."
"This child..." Yun Zheng shook her head distressedly and helplessly, turning to Cen Lian'an, "An'an, I'll go back first. I'll come see you and the baby tomorrow."
Cen Li'an nodded in understanding, "Go back quickly. It's the most difficult time for a child to recognize his mother."
She paused, a sly look in her eyes. "But Mr. Fu is so considerate, he'll definitely be able to help you share the burden."
Yun Zheng blushed and patted her best friend's hand. "Have a good rest and stop talking."
Fu Linghe had already helped Yun Zheng with her bag and was waiting for her at the door.
Yun Zheng finally hugged Cen Lian and whispered something in her ear, causing Cen Lian to chuckle.
"Jiang Chenyu!" Fu Linghe shouted into the corridor, "We're leaving."
Jiang Chenyu trotted over from the neonatal observation room with a silly smile on his face, "You're leaving now? You haven't even hugged my daughter yet!"
"Next time," Fu Linghe said briefly, his hand already protecting Yun Zheng's back as he guided her towards the elevator. "Your daughter is sleeping soundly, don't wake her."
Jiang Chenyu scratched his head, and suddenly shouted as if remembering something, "Oh, sister-in-law! An An asked you to be her godmother, you can't go back on your word!"
Yun Zheng turned around and waved at him, "I know, go back and accompany An An!"
As she walked out of the ward, Yun Zheng's pace quickened noticeably.
Fu Linghe strode after her and held her hand at the elevator entrance. "Don't worry, the confinement nanny is experienced and will coax her into recovery."
Yun Zheng nodded slightly, but the worry in her eyes was already overflowing.
On the way back, Yun Zheng kept staring at the video sent by the confinement nanny on her mobile phone.
In the picture, little Yunshu’s face turned red from crying, and no matter how the confinement nanny tried to comfort her, it was useless.
"Can you drive faster?" This was the third time Yun Zheng urged.
Fu Linghe didn't say anything, but just stepped on the accelerator silently.
The black Maybach drew a smooth arc in the morning light and drove into the villa area.
Before the car stopped, Yun Zheng unbuckled her seat belt and rushed out.
Fu Linghe looked at her hurried back, shook his head helplessly, locked the car and quickly followed.
As soon as I opened the door of the baby's room, a heart-wrenching cry hit me.
The confinement nanny walked back and forth in the room holding little Yunshu, with beads of sweat already on her forehead.
"Madam!" The nanny exclaimed as if she had found a savior. "No matter how much I try to comfort the little lady, she won't stop."
Yun Zheng immediately took her daughter and skillfully held her against her chest.
Little Yunshu's crying immediately became a little softer, but she was still sobbing, and her little face was wrinkled.
"Baby, what's wrong? Mommy is here..." Yun Zheng coaxed softly, her fingers gently stroking her daughter's soft hair, "Did you get up and can't find Mommy?"
Fu Linghe walked to another crib where little Yunyi was lying quietly. His big eyes like black grapes turned around curiously, and when he saw his father, he suddenly grinned.
So soft and cute!
"This kid is quite well-behaved." Fu Linghe bent down and picked up his son. The little guy immediately grabbed his father's tie and stuffed it into his mouth.
Yun Zheng held her daughter in her arms and sat down in the rocking chair, gently unbuttoning her clothes. "Maybe she's hungry."
As soon as little Yunshu felt his mother's scent, he instinctively looked for food.
The crying stopped, replaced by the sound of contented swallowing.
Yun Zheng looked down at her daughter, her eyes incredibly soft.
Fu Linghe walked to his wife with his son in his arms and knelt on one knee on the carpet so that his son could see his sister.
Little Yunyi stretched out his little hand curiously, as if wanting to touch his sister's face.
"No, oh no." Yun Zheng stopped her softly, "My sister is breastfeeding."
Fu Linghe looked at this scene, and an indescribable warmth surged in his chest.
The sunlight shone through the gauze curtains, giving the mother and her two children a soft golden edge.
He reached out and brushed away the strands of hair on Yun Zheng's forehead. "Are you tired?"
Yun Zheng shook her head, a satisfied smile on her face. "Look how delicious she is eating."
Little Yunshu was indeed concentrating on eating, his little hands tightly grasping the corner of his mother's clothes, as if he was afraid that his food would be snatched away.
Occasionally he would stop to burp a little, then continue immediately, with tears still hanging on his long eyelashes.
Fu Linghe reached out and gently wiped away the tear, his fingers caressing his daughter's rosy face. "You cried so sadly, it scared everyone."
As if she understood what her father said, Xiao Yunshu suddenly let go of the nipple and gave Fu Linghe a sweet smile, with milk stains still hanging at the corners of her mouth.
"Oh, you little rascal." Yun Zheng smiled and wiped the milk stains from her daughter's mouth with her fingertips. "Do you know how to behave now?"
Fu Linghe leaned over and kissed his daughter on the forehead, then raised his head and kissed his wife on the lips. "Like you, you know how to coax people."
Yun Zheng glared at him angrily, but couldn't hide the smile on her lips.
Little Yunshu in my arms was full and began to feel drowsy. His little fists slowly loosened and his eyelids drooped little by little.
"Falling asleep?" Fu Linghe asked in a low voice.
Yun Zheng nodded and carefully placed her daughter back in the crib. "Maybe she's tired of crying."
Little Yunshu smacked his lips in his sleep, turned over, and his little hand unconsciously grabbed a corner of the blanket.
The son in Fu Linghe's arms also began to yawn, his big eyes blinking as he struggled not to sleep.
"It's your turn." Yun Zheng took her son and patted his back gently while feeding him. "Daddy has held him for so long, it's Mommy's turn to hold him."
Little Yunyi rubbed himself in his mother's arms, found a comfortable position, and soon closed his eyes.
Yun Zheng hummed a discordant lullaby and rocked gently until her son's breathing became long and steady.
After settling the two children down, Yun Zheng breathed a sigh of relief, only to find that her back was wet.
Fu Linghe handed her a cup of warm water at the right time, and she took it and drank half of it in one breath.
"Are you tired?" Fu Linghe took the cup and naturally put his other hand around her waist. "Want to take a rest?"
Yun Zheng shook her head, her eyes still fixed on the two children in the crib. "I want to see them again."
Fu Linghe didn't try to persuade her anymore, but just stood beside the crib with her.
Xiao Yunshu suddenly grinned in his sleep, wondering what good thing he dreamed about.
Little Yunyi was as quiet as a little angel, with only the slightly rising and falling belly proving that he was breathing.
"They both look so authoritative!" Yun Zheng whispered, leaning on her husband's shoulder. "Every detail is so perfect."
Fu Linghe hugged her tightly, "Like you."
As the couple was talking, little Yunshu, who was originally smiling, suddenly sobbed twice in his sleep and frowned.
Yun Zheng immediately leaned over and patted her little butt, "Mommy is here, baby, don't be afraid..."
Miraculously, Xiao Yunshu really calmed down and fell into a deep sleep again.
Fu Linghe watched his wife's skillful movements with a soft look in his eyes. "You are a good mother."
Yun Zheng looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. "You're a good father too."
She reached out and smoothed out the wrinkles on his shirt his son had made. "Although this shirt is ruined."
Fu Linghe shrugged indifferently, "It's worth it."
The sunlight gradually grew stronger, casting mottled shadows on the wooden floor through the gauze curtains.
The baby room was so quiet that the only sounds that could be heard were the two little ones' even breathing and occasional mumbling in their sleep.
Yun Zheng suddenly yawned and her eyelids began to feel heavy.
Fu Linghe picked her up without saying anything and carried her sideways, "It's time for you to rest now."
"Put me down." Yun Zheng protested softly, but couldn't help yawning again, "I want more..."
"Shh." Fu Linghe bent down and kissed her forehead. "The confinement nanny will watch over them."
He carried Yun Zheng back to the master bedroom and gently placed her on the bed.
As soon as Yun Zheng touched the pillow, she automatically curled up like a tired cat.
Fu Linghe pulled a thin blanket over her and sat beside the bed, watching her breathing gradually become steady.
Just as he was about to get up, Yun Zheng suddenly grabbed his wrist without opening her eyes, "Stay with me for a while..."
Fu Linghe lay down obediently and held her in his arms.
Yun Zheng found a comfortable position on his chest and quickly fell asleep.
Fu Linghe gently stroked her long hair, listened to her even breathing, and closed his eyes unconsciously.
