Extra: Food Guide for Transfer Students

There is a transfer student recently joining Eve's class, which is somewhat rare in Hope City.

For an inner-city secondary school, there are rarely any changes in the staff within a grade, except, of course, during the New Year some time ago.

The Speaker did some remarkable things during the New Year's Eve. When school started after the New Year, there were fewer familiar faces in Eve's grade. I heard that they went to work on sewing machines.

Then after some time, El came to this class.

The young man with gray hair sat in the back row by the window. He always listened attentively in class, but when it came to the quizzes, he gave a crappy answer as if he was possessed by an unknown creature.

Most students would be very depressed after encountering such things, but Eve found that El was not like that.

He cares about his academic performance, but he will not feel frustrated or angry about it. Every time the exam is over, he will always figure out all the problems and then go home, as if someone at home is preparing for another test.

Coupled with his calmness that was different from his peers and his somewhat mysterious identity - no one in the entire grade had ever seen him, El successfully made himself the focus of attention of his peers.

Eve and her friends are no exception. There seems to be a secret competition among their entire grade to see who can find out El's background first.

Of course, this also has something to do with the fact that he looks pretty good.

Inevitably, Eve paid some attention to this new classmate, and then, with her good observation skills, she discovered something suspicious.

For example, Eve confirmed that she was the first student to enter the teaching building after the school opened, but found that El was already sitting in the classroom.

For example, Eve found that there were no water stains on El's body, including on his trouser legs, when it rained.

For example, Eve noticed that this transfer student always seemed to disappear inexplicably during breaks and lunch, and would appear at the classroom door on time just before class started.

She is very curious!

Middle school students are at an age when they are full of curiosity, and Eve happens to have a father who works in the police force.

So the girl added a subject for herself in her spare time, and used the books at home to start teaching herself some of the subjects her father learned when he was in college.

As time went on, the fog around El grew thicker.

Eve's friends also heard new "inside information":

Some people said that when they were suffering from insomnia, they saw a person with a figure similar to El jumping between several buildings. Some people claimed that El was the illegitimate son of the owner of a security company in the inner city. Some people said that they saw El beating someone into the wall at an alley after school...

Of course, Eve absolutely did not believe the last one.

As her knowledge accumulates, she becomes more confident. Compared with her slightly superficial and amateur friends, Eve believes that only she can uncover the mystery shrouding others.

One day, after school.

"Hey, why is it raining?"

The City of Hope is not very warm in the spring, and the evening rain can easily bring a cold to young people.

Eve clearly saw in the morning that El didn't have an umbrella, so she decided that today was the best time to act.

She learned a lot about detective work from her father's books, but she forgot to learn one thing: how to start a tracking.

The girl didn't know that the best option at this time was to leave before the target, and then unconsciously lag behind and start tracking on the way, so problems arose in the first step of the action.

Five minutes later, all the students in the classroom had left, leaving only El and Eve.

The girl glanced at the other person's expression and found that El seemed a little impatient with her existence.

This is really weird—

Anyway, he didn't have an umbrella, so how could he avoid the rain and go home after I left?

In this case, why not ask your classmates if they can share an umbrella? Most people would do the same, right?

Time passed by minute by minute, and ten minutes later, El finally couldn't sit still anymore.

He stood up straight away, and then - completely ignoring Eve's existence, he planned to leave the teaching building in the rain.

Very good. Although she didn't know why the other party didn't even want to ask her, Eve at least waited for the target to leave on his own initiative, so now she could start the investigation.

Eve opened her umbrella downstairs where the rain kept falling.

Two meters to her left was El, who had a resentful look on his face.

The next moment, the gray-haired boy chose to walk in the rain.

He had to leave. The agreed time was about to pass. If he didn't leave now, maybe...

Eve realized one thing: it didn't seem like a good idea to follow a classmate on a campus and road that was almost deserted.

But if it can be done in parallel with the other party, this matter will be reasonable and legal.

So she thought for a moment and finally said:

"Would you like to come together?"

The head of El in front of him turned like a robot, and cold water dripped down his tangled hair, making him look like someone who wanted to keep strangers away.

"Not on the way."

"Do you know where I live?"

At this moment, the girl's eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, and she pointedly exposed the other party's perfunctory words.

As a last resort, the wet El came under the umbrella of the enthusiastic classmate.

"I can take you home."

Eve stated this, and then added:

"On the way."

She stared at the profile of the mysterious transfer student, trying to read something from his expression, but Eve, with little knowledge, could not interpret any emotions other than eagerness.
