Chapter 103 No one can live without going crazy.

Pei Yuezhi moved closer and smelled it; there was a faint scent of mugwort.

It's probably for repelling mosquitoes and other insects.

Hearing the noise, Fan Mu was awakened and looked at Pei Yuezhi in a daze.

Pei Yuezhi quickly lay down and coaxed her to continue sleeping.

"Mom, why aren't you asleep yet? Are you looking at the sachet?" Fan Mu turned around and hugged Pei Yuezhi's arm, then said, "Uncle just hung up the sachet. He said it will keep mosquitoes away from biting people."

Pei Yuezhi thought to herself, "This Pei Yunzhi is quite meticulous."

The next day, after breakfast, the group waited for the oxcart to arrive.

Pei's father was still sighing, "I never imagined that our family would one day be able to live together."

Listening to the father and son, they started to sigh again, saying how much they owed her. Pei Yuezhi was used to being praised, and from being embarrassed at the beginning, she now had a calm expression.

Before long, Brother Liu arrived in his oxcart.

"Uncle Pei, I'm here. Have you been waiting long?" Brother Liu said as he got off the oxcart and came over to help carry things.

"I didn't have to wait long, thank you for your hard work, child."

With Brother Liu's help, it didn't take long to load everything onto the truck.

There were some other odds and ends, but Pei Yuezhi already had them all, and there was no need to move everything so thoroughly.

Vegetables are still growing in the garden, and Pei's father and Pei Yunzhi would occasionally come back to harvest them. When they came back, they wouldn't make a fuss about going back to town immediately. If they stayed here for a while, they wouldn't be able to leave without anything.

The village wasn't far from the town, and they arrived in no time. Pei Yuezhi told Brother Liu the address, and he even thoughtfully drove the car to the door.

Only Liang Zhenzhen was home at the moment. Liu Yuanyuan was probably at her own home or at the shop. Pei Yuezhi planned to tidy up her father's room first.

When Liang Zhenzhen saw Pei Yuezhi and his group return, she quickly went out to greet them.

"Aunt Pei, you're back. Zhenzhen is here to help you tidy up."

They moved everything into the yard so that Brother Liu could hurry back to the town entrance. With Liang Zhenzhen's help, they quickly got everything moved.

Pei Yuezhi paid the money, and Brother Liu left first.

"Let me introduce you. This is Zhenzhen," Pei Yuezhi said to the three of them. "Zhenzhen, this is my younger brother. You can call him Uncle. This is my father. You can call him Grandpa."

After the three of them got to know each other, they continued working.

It was almost lunchtime, so Pei Yuezhi told them to start cleaning up while she went to cook.

We'll just make something simple for lunch, and then we'll have something nice for dinner when everyone's here.

Pei Yuezhi quickly made some fried rice and stir-fried dishes. After they ate, she continued tidying up Pei's father's room.

Pei Yunzhi, after packing up, carried his luggage, took the keys, and went to the shop.

Pei Yunzhi knew where Zhouji Teahouse was, so he told him to go and tidy up his room first.

After the afternoon, everyone was tired, and the rooms were almost tidied up, so Pei's father could get some rest.

Pei Yuezhi then went to Liu Yuanyuan's place.

"Yuanyuan, I'm exhausted these past two days. I've been packing and moving things, and I still have to tidy up after moving them over." As soon as Pei Yue entered the room, she pushed Liu Yuanyuan aside and lay down on her bed.

Liu Yuanyuan was lying on the bed, gazing at the sky with utter boredom.

Unexpectedly, Pei Yuezhi suddenly appeared.

"Yueyue! You're finally back! Do you know how I got through these past two days while you were gone?" Liu Yuanyuan, who had been pushed to the side, turned around and hugged Pei Yuezhi again.

Pei Yuezhi pushed her away with a pained expression after being hugged like that: "It's so hot, God, I've been so hot and tired these past two days."

"Then I won't hug you anymore. Let's go to the mall. I'm getting hot when you're pressed against me like this."

Liu Yuanyuan quickly let go of her and said.

"Okay, let's go cool off quickly. I'll think about what to eat tonight. After all, this is the first time we've had so many people eating together."

"Is it really appropriate for us to go over to your house for dinner?" Liu Yuanyuan asked with some concern.

Pei Yuezhi waved her hand: "There's nothing wrong with it. We're the real family. And my dad has always said he's very grateful to me, his good friend, for going through so much hardship with me."

"That's fine then. I was just worried that people in ancient times might mind if two families ate together." Liu Yuanyuan said, relieved.

“No, people in ancient times were much more adaptable than we imagine.” Pei Yuezhi took Liu Yuanyuan’s hand and prepared to enter the mall.

Liu Yuanyuan said, "Indeed, I always thought that people in ancient times were feudal. But after I went to a clothing store and saw those summer clothes, I realized that people in ancient times also showed their arms and legs."

"I used to wonder why men from other places couldn't enter the backyard, but then I found out."

Pei Yuezhi asked her with some curiosity, "Why? I don't know this either."

“I asked Grandma Liu, ‘Why don’t I see anyone wearing those pretty clothes that show off their arms and legs?’”

"Then she told me that these clothes are what rich people would buy, because they certainly can't wear them outside, they would wear them in the backyard, otherwise it would be too hot in the summer."

Liu Yuanyuan was telling Pei Yuezhi.

Pei Yuezhi suddenly realized, "No wonder. I was wondering why they were researching this when armlets are supposed to be worn on the arms."

"Now you know, right?"

"I've learned something new."

The two lay in the comfortably warm home furnishings section of the mall and began to discuss what to eat for dinner.

Liu Yuanyuan suggested eating hot pot, saying it would be better to have hot pot with more people.

However, we only have one copper pot at home, and if we want to have hot pot, there are too many people, so we can't cook it all.

In the end, I decided to have some grilled skewers anyway. It was quite a hassle, but I couldn't resist the craving.

Moreover, there were many people this time, so they were asked to skewer the food, and Pei Yuezhi grilled it with ruthless barbecue tools.

I took a nap in the mall and felt refreshed and relaxed.

"It's so much more comfortable to live in modern times. In ancient times, only the wealthy could truly enjoy life," Liu Yuanyuan said, stretching.

“Yes, we’re already much better off than ordinary families. At least we don’t have to work in the fields every day anymore,” Pei Yuezhi said, stretching.

Pei Yuezhi started buying groceries, and happened to grab a basket from Liu Yuanyuan's house, pretending that she had just gone out to buy some.

“I’m so clever, hehehehe.” Pei Yuezhi said as she picked up the basket.

Behind her, Liu Yuanyuan sighed, "No one can live without going crazy sometimes."

Pei Yuezhi bought lamb leg meat, pork shoulder, and pork heart meat. The grilled pork belly was delicious.

This time I did something different and bought some large river shrimp.

It's been so long since I've had shrimp. Although they're still smaller than they are nowadays, just being able to eat them is good enough.
