Chapter Sixty-Two: Yearning
At this moment, Anno's energy was connected to that luminous object. The object seemed to be charged, constantly emitting a kind of energy that made people restless, but it also exuded an irresistible temptation to her.
Anno unconsciously wanted to move closer to the glowing object. The golden sand jellyfish that enveloped them sensed Anno's thoughts and swam towards the glowing object.
Huo Yin's expression wasn't good either, but he tried his best to control his irritable emotions by An Nuo's side. Watching An Nuo swim towards the glowing object, he hugged her tightly: "Baby, don't go."
Anno had a strong craving for that energy; it constantly tempted her, making it impossible for her to resist.
She wasn't a person with such a weak mind; it's just that she felt that thing wasn't as evil as they imagined. Besides feeling the powerful force brought by that energy, she could also feel an indescribable sadness from it.
That energy wasn't deceiving her; it was genuinely asking for her help.
She seemed to hear someone weeping softly, and a low moan of pain like that of a beast.
She had experienced this feeling of despair before, longing for someone to come and save her one day.
This longing was eventually worn away by repeated hardships and injuries, ultimately driving her to the brink of madness.
She tried to pry Huo Yin's hands off, but he held her tightly and wouldn't let go no matter what she said, and he even tried to lead her away from that glowing object.
But her energy spread across the bottom of the water, and the creatures there sensed her intense consciousness and thoughts, all gathering around her and pushing the two of them closer to the glowing object.
The dozen or so villains hiding somewhere underwater watched the Fire Seed cubs swim toward the bait, their hearts filled with excitement and elation.
This sparkling cub indeed has a special sensitivity to the energy of the fallen ones; they have hope!
Thinking of this, they turned the power of their instruments to the maximum to suppress the people who had followed them. They stared intently at the few people closest to her, and the miniature bombs disguised as planktonic organisms exploded around them.
Just as Anno was about to approach the glowing object, a flying machine crashed into the stone pillar, destroying the instruments on it.
The instant the aircraft exploded, a figure swam rapidly towards them from within. He was wearing a jetpack and holding a glowing object. He grabbed Anno and Huo Yin and swam towards safety.
Anno looked up at the person who had come in. He was wearing a metal mask, so his face was not visible. Only a pair of cold, heterochromatic eyes were visible.
After the aircraft exploded, a black substance rapidly spread out from the stone pillar, instantly turning the entire area of the water black, making everything invisible.
Flames erupted in the black water as the rebels discovered that the bait and the Fire Seedlings had been taken away, and they launched a frenzied attack on Logan and his men.
Luo Jin and Tang Ting looked at the distance to Anuo displayed on the personal terminal and chased after her.
They placed a tracker on Anno and, seeing that her body showed no signs of injury, both of them breathed a sigh of relief.
At the bottom of a body of water covered with countless coral reefs, the mysterious man stopped with Anno and Huo Yin, no longer swimming forward.
A huge figure descended from above them, and the Mosasaurus followed, shaking its head in annoyance as it approached Anno. Huo Yin lashed its face with its tail, knocking its head to the side.
The mosasaur growled in dissatisfaction and obediently lay down in the nearby water plants.
After Huo Yin finished whipping the Mosasaurus, its tail swished behind it, ready to strike the person who had led him and Anno away at any moment.
This person was clearly not one of Logan's people. If he hadn't been holding a cub and hadn't shown any hostility towards them, Logan would have joined forces with Mosasaurus to attack him.
Anno looked at the man in front of her with curiosity. The energy he possessed was exactly the same as the energy she had been vaguely sensing all day.
Who is he? Why does he seem so familiar to her, yet she has no recollection of him?
Looking at the mask on his face, she pulled her hand out of the golden sand jellyfish and tried to remove the mask from his face, but he grabbed her wrist.
She asked him, "Who are you?"
Bazel didn't speak. He wanted to touch her head, but her upper body was covered by golden jellyfish, so he could only place his hand on the jellyfish and stroke her cheek from a distance.
After some time apart, his seed had grown a bit and even learned to speak. Her complexion was rosy and healthy, indicating that they had taken good care of her.
Anno looked at him, her heart filled with doubt. Who exactly was he? Why did he look at her with such tenderness, his beautiful red and blue heterochromatic eyes filled with intense emotions?
This feeling made her feel unbearable, as if she were watching the most important person in her life leave, as if the person she depended on so much could no longer be by her side.
She placed her hand on his, trying to explore more through the energy.
The moment she touched his hand, he took it in his and placed a transparent glass tube in her palm.
She looked and saw a luminous mist floating inside the glass tube; this was the thing, radiating an energy that was tempting her.
However, its allure has diminished somewhat, and its luster has faded considerably.
Her energy was still slowly flowing into the glass tube, and it seemed to be satiated by her energy, entering a temporary dormant state.
The mosasaur beside her, which had been silent all along, let out a low growl, signaling her to deal with this thing quickly. It had absorbed her energy, and if it were to flare up again, it would have a greater impact than before.
Huo Yin looked at Anuo, who seemed a little lost holding the glass tube, and took her hand, saying, "Just like you comforted me before."
Anno understood, mobilized the energy in his body, and then covered the glass tube.
She felt the energy in her body forming a peculiar ability that gradually calmed the restless energy in the glass tube.
As Bazel watched her begin purifying the energy of the Fallen Ones, he thought to himself, "No wonder the rebels have tried to kidnap her one after another. She's so young, yet she can activate her purification abilities and even purify the energy of the Fallen Ones. This is unprecedented in the North River System."
He gazed intently at the little cub, and when he sensed someone approaching, he reluctantly placed his hand on the top of her head, gently stroking her head through the golden sand jellyfish, before activating his jet thruster and diving deeper into the reef.
As Anuo watched him leave, she instinctively tried to pull him back, but after swimming forward a couple of times, his figure had already disappeared from her sight.
She stared blankly in the direction he had disappeared. Suddenly, she sensed two familiar energy auras. Turning around, she saw Luo Jin and Tang Ting swimming rapidly towards her.
