Chapter Sixty-One: Jinsha
It was already night, but there were some kind of bioluminescent microorganisms in Baisha Lake, and the entire lake was emitting a faint glow, which was very beautiful.
Something even brighter was rising from the bottom of the lake. Anno looked closely and saw that the clusters of objects emitting a shimmering light were very similar to the jellyfish she had seen in the old footage. They were all translucent with long tentacles.
The glowing jellyfish in front of her was even more beautiful than she had seen in the images. They varied in size, and each of their cap-shaped bodies had a golden edge. The light radiated outwards from the center, like stars dotting the night sky. Their soft, long tentacles were somewhat similar to her light band.
She watched as the bioluminescent jellyfish rose from the lake bottom and drifted into the sky.
She was astonished; could this jellyfish fly?
Huo Yin's voice rang in her ears, "This is the Golden Sand Jellyfish. The golden sand needed to cultivate the Fire Seed embryo is produced by them."
Anno: "How...did you know?"
Huo Yin patted her head. "I think I've seen it somewhere before."
He didn't actually know why he knew; it was just that when he saw those golden jellyfish, this information automatically popped into his mind.
The mosasaur saw the golden jellyfish emerge and sink back into the water.
Anno was filled with anxiety when she saw that the Mosasaurus was about to take her into the water. The Mosasaurus then murmured a few times to reassure her.
A golden jellyfish floated up to them and covered them from top to bottom with its translucent body.
As they sank into the water, Anno felt that her breathing was still smooth and unaffected. The lake water was a bit cool, but the tentacles on the golden sand jellyfish wrapped around her light band. Her light band shook and was about to be pulled away when a warm energy was transmitted into her body.
This feeling was very comfortable; her body suddenly stopped feeling cold, as if she were being soaked in warm water.
The Golden Sand Jellyfish is a very peculiar creature. It can live anywhere, in water, desert, forest, and even in space. However, its habitat is not fixed. It migrates several times a year and produces very little golden sand. Every year, the department responsible for the Fire Seed collects golden sand all over the North River system in search of the Golden Sand Jellyfish's habitat.
Mosasaurus led Anno underwater, and Lokin and the others followed in their flying vehicles, staying at a distance from Mosasaurus.
As soon as Anno entered the water, he felt as if he had entered another world.
The water was teeming with bioluminescent creatures, illuminating the bottom brilliantly. Golden jellyfish swam around them, while silver flying fish darted about, their long tails weaving like luminous ribbons. Many gray otters followed them, diving downwards, their large tails aiding their descent and emitting a soft glow. They formed an orderly mass, their tails acting as underwater beacons. The entire lakebed was adorned with these bioluminescent creatures, transforming it into a dazzling sea of stars, a dreamlike and enchanting sight.
Anno's earlier nervousness was dispelled by the dreamlike scene.
Countless golden jellyfish surrounded her, and the energy they emitted gave her a completely different feeling than that of others. She could only sense the energy of Huo Yin and the others, or have a connection with their energy.
But the golden sand jellyfish seemed to be providing her with energy, giving her a one-sided connection and help.
However, the amount of energy in her body was not much more, but it was very stable, and her energy perception had been greatly enhanced.
The mosasaur moved with incredible speed, traversing the underwater world. After passing through a dense patch of glowing seaweed, it stopped in front of a stone pillar.
The stone pillar appears to be naturally formed, with a luminous object floating in the middle of it.
Anno noticed that the aquatic creatures kept their distance and dared not approach, as if they were wary of something.
Lokin's aircraft landed on a smooth mountainside not far away. She activated the diving function of her combat suit, then emerged from the aircraft and swam closer to Anno.
"Test that thing."
Tang Ting had transformed back into human form and was on one of the aircraft, examining the luminous object with two other technicians.
The mosasaur let out a few low growls, using its consciousness to tell Anno that this thing had attracted it here, driven it mad, and controlled its consciousness.
Anno stared at the glowing object for a while, but didn't sense anything. She used her consciousness to ask the Mosasaurus what she needed to do.
A hint of doubt also lingered in the mind of the Mosasaurus. It was not the glowing object that puzzled it, but rather that Anno didn't know what it was.
Huo Yin frowned as he looked at the lump of something; he couldn't figure it out for the moment.
Suddenly, a wave spread outward from the location of the luminous object. The mosasaur, which had calmed down, became agitated again. It roared and crashed its body into the underwater mountain.
Huo Yin carried her away from the Canglong and swam towards a safe place.
Anno tried to continue using her energy to soothe the dragon, but as soon as she used it, the energy suddenly stopped, as if something had severed her connection with the dragon. Her energy... was now connected to another object.
The moment the connection was established, her pupils suddenly contracted, and the energy in her body poured out like flowing water.
She finally sensed the energy emanating from the luminous object.
This energy was very similar to hers and carried a distress signal. No wonder the mosasaur was attracted by this energy; it must have thought that a spark was trapped here.
Seeing the change, Lokin and the others immediately swam toward Anno, but the next moment, a violent energy with a strong impact blasted them away.
This energy terrified them even more than the drugs that had previously turned the beasts into monsters.
This energy instantly made them irritable.
After sensing this energy, Tang Ting suddenly realized what it was. It was a mixture of the energy of the Fire Seed and the substances and energy extracted from the bodies of the Fallen Ones. It could mimic the energy of the Fire Seed, but its actual effect was exactly the opposite of the Fire Seed energy.
The rebels actually made something like this!
Tang Ting could no longer care about anything else and flew towards Anuo in her aircraft. She couldn't touch this thing; it would drain all her energy!
