Chapter 250: Entering the Temple
A message came from the temple: Sevier and the others had communicated with the consciousness of their ancestors and received a response.
The mystery surrounding Sitar's origins is about to be solved.
Before heading to the temple, Anno met Caesar and Secris, who had been released.
Both of them were to be sent to the front lines.
This was Mother's order. They were the strongest fighting vanguard of the Zerg. The other leading servants had been fighting for a long time, so it was time to take over and let these servants rest for a while.
The Zerg race is now at its peak, and they can take turns participating in various wars.
The interstellar war has entered a heated phase, and with the advance of the Zerg and Styx allies, it will soon be over.
Sevier sent Caesar to the front lines so that he could temporarily leave Anunu's side and allow both of them to adjust their thinking.
If Caesar continues to be as willful and unrestrained as before, Sitar will not let him off easily, even before Sevier makes a move.
At this point, Anunu's soft heart no longer worked on him.
Royal Palace, Crystal Tree Courtyard.
Two tall, slender figures strode towards the inner hall.
It was Caesar and Secris, who had just been released. They were walking with a hurry, eager to see Anno as soon as possible.
They estimated they wouldn't be back for several days after going to the battlefield, and they all wanted to see Anno one last time before leaving.
Caesar no longer uses his spatial abilities as readily as he used to.
The presence of the young male insect king had already been detected in the palace, and he had to conceal it.
Even though Sitar wasn't here today, his mental pressure still weighed on them, preventing them from acting recklessly.
Caesar and Secris walked through the corridor and stopped at the railing in the courtyard. After exchanging a glance with Bazelpoponia, who was guarding Anno, they turned their gaze to the girl who was sensing the crystal tree.
The girl wore a light blue dress, her pink and gold hair cascading down her back. Through the energy exchange with the crystal tree, she emitted a shimmering white light, making the surrounding colorful and beautiful minerals pale in comparison.
Upon seeing her, the ice in their eyes melted away, and their expressions softened unconsciously.
They all looked at her with a greedy gaze.
Anno noticed their arrival, withdrew his hand from the crystal tree, and turned to look at them.
"Your Highness."
The two men stepped forward and knelt down on one knee in front of her.
Anno said gently, "Get up."
The two men stood up and bowed their heads before her.
Caesar glanced at her and then lowered his eyes, his gaze filled with suppressed intense emotions.
Secris said, "Your Highness, we are heading to the front lines today, and we have come to say goodbye."
Anno nodded: "My mother has already told me everything."
"Take care of yourselves on the battlefield, and come back safe and sound to see me, understand?"
Anno turned his gaze to Caesar, whose head was slightly lowered and who appeared more composed than before. It seemed that a month of confinement in the abyss had calmed him down considerably.
She added to Caesar, "Don't be willful, be obedient."
Caesar looked up at her, his beautiful golden eyes shining like stars. "Yes, Your Highness."
After saying that, he took half a step forward, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he lowered his head and silently retreated.
Seeing him like this, Anuo instinctively wanted to say a few words to comfort him.
Before she could speak, Caesar looked up at her and smiled, "Your Highness, I will return to your side as soon as possible."
His sharp eyebrows softened in an instant, his eyes and brows were filled with a cheerful smile, and his whole demeanor brightened up.
It's the kind of look that Anuo likes.
Anno smiled slightly, took a step forward, and was about to say something when he sensed Sital's presence; he had returned from the nest.
Secris spoke up at the opportune moment, "Your Highness, we'll be leaving now."
As he spoke, he glanced at Caesar, his eyes carrying a hint of warning.
Caesar's expression returned to normal, and he didn't cling to Anno as he had before. He said goodbye to Anno and turned to walk out with Secris.
As I walked through the corridor, I saw Sitar walking towards me.
The two stopped and bowed, "Your Highness Sitar."
Sitar didn't even glance at them, and walked straight toward Anno.
Secris continued walking forward, and when he realized that Caesar hadn't followed, he frowned slightly and looked back, only to see Caesar standing there, gazing towards the courtyard.
After pausing for only a few seconds, Caesar turned around, his face still showing the same gentle and calm expression as usual, looking like someone who was easy to talk to and good at socializing.
But the warmth in those golden eyes had faded, leaving only a cold light.
“Sital, you’re back.”
Anno walked up to Sitar, hugged him tightly, and nuzzled him.
Her genetic instincts always compelled her to be close to Sitar and leave her mark on him.
She had never taken the initiative with anyone before, and she was very happy about it.
Even with her father and mother, she was shy and always felt a little embarrassed.
But she felt happy whenever Sitar stood in front of her, as if something inside her was being filled.
She hugged his waist and felt that he seemed to have grown taller and bigger than he had a few days ago.
Now she has to look up at him.
She looked at the androgynous, beautiful face in front of her, reached out and poked his cheek. His face seemed to have lost some of its flesh, and his youthful appearance had faded.
Sitar placed his hand behind her back, stroking her long hair.
"After the meal, the king asked us to go to the temple together."
His voice was slightly hoarse and lower than usual.
The changes in him were too obvious, like a butterfly rapidly metamorphosing, growing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
After dinner, Anno and he headed to the temple together.
The temple is located at the bottom of the ore zone, where energy converges, and very close to the nesting grounds.
This was Anno's first visit to the temple; he had only known about it through his consciousness network before.
Only a few Zerg servants guarded the entrance to the temple. It wasn't that the temple wasn't important, but rather that the temple only allowed Overlords to enter. Anyone else who wanted to enter the temple would find themselves in a mining area right after entering the entrance, and would never even get close to the temple.
Anno saw that the entrance to the temple was carved with tall stone pillars made of minerals, with ancient insectoid script and some patterns engraved on them.
As soon as Anno entered through the entrance, he was plunged into darkness.
Sitar took her hand and led her forward.
Gradually, a light appeared before my eyes; it was the glow emanating from the minerals embedded in the wall.
After walking for a while, they came to the edge of a huge black hole, similar to the entrance to an abyss.
A floating, moving circular platform flew towards them; it was also a piece of ore, but it didn't look like it had been artificially polished.
Sitar led her onto the platform, which then plunged them into darkness.
There were twinkling lights along the way, making it impossible to see how big the surrounding space was, as if we were in a dazzling universe.
Anno could feel himself sinking to the bottom, surrounded by dense energy, and hearing some ethereal voice carrying an ancient and ancient aura.
A few minutes later, the platform stopped in front of a huge palace.
Anno looked up and saw a starry sky above him, with the Milky Way stretching across it, dazzling and brilliant.
The temple was surrounded by an endless dark space, with luminous objects drifting and floating in the darkness.
It was empty and desolate.
“This is Anunu’s first time at the temple. Go in and greet the ancestors. They will be very happy to see Anunu.”
Sevier took Anno's hand and led her step by step up the wide steps of the temple.
The temple was much larger than the royal palace. The entire palace was built of ore, making them appear very small.
The ground was as smooth as a mirror, shimmering with a soft light.
Anno was awestruck by the temple's architecture; the feeling of being there in person was completely different from seeing it in the consciousness network.
After climbing dozens of steps, we finally reached the platform outside the temple.
At the entrance to the temple stand several tall stone pillars, each engraved with ancient insectoid script and patterns. These scripts and patterns are not fixed and change at any time, as if they have come to life.
Anno couldn't understand the text, but she could understand some of the patterns. They were all original forms of some branches of the Zerg, but some of them were forms she had never seen before.
She walked around and looked for a while, and saw a familiar pattern on one of the stone pillars.
She spread her wings, flew to the top of the stone pillar, and touched the pattern with her hand.
This original form is somewhat similar to the mother's, but more like Sitar's.
She had never seen the full form of Sitar's original form, but she had seen it in Sitar's consciousness.
She later learned that he and her mother were not from the same branch of the family.
There is no such branch of the Zerg anymore.
Moreover, this branch of his cannot be found in the consciousness network.
Over a long period of time, the Zerg have continuously formed new branches, while some branches have retreated and gradually become extinct.
However, most of these memories are passed down within the Zerg consciousness network, which is the Zerg's thick history book.
If even the consciousness network didn't record it, then either this branch was just a fleeting phenomenon in the Zerg, or the Zerg suffered a severe blow that couldn't be recorded.
But in any case, it must have been a very long time ago.
She had a feeling that the hatching of Sitar's insect eggs would not happen after her.
