Chapter 327: The Ancient Palace

Chapter 327: The Ancient Palace

The main hall of the royal palace.

Anno sat on the throne, accompanying his father in discussing state affairs. In the middle of the hall, various projected images displayed a complex array of information.

The family members categorized and processed the information, and Augustus handled each item methodically.

Anno watched for a while, yawned a few times, and then leaned against Augsis, feeling somewhat drowsy.

Augustus put his arm around her and gently patted her back to lull her to sleep.

Around the time Anunu enters adulthood, she becomes more restless and doesn't sleep as well as before. They can only try their best to comfort her and can satisfy her in other ways, except for Sitar, which is temporarily impossible.

When she first returned to the Zerg, he and Sevier carefully examined her physique, considering that her age should be calculated based on her own experience, and that it would take her at least another ten years to reach the early adult stage.

However, the core's experience time was different from hers. After the core returned to her body completely, it accelerated her growth.

Anunu's performance these past few days has proven this point.

After Anunu fell asleep, Aughis was about to carry her back when he saw her open her eyes again.

Augustus stroked her hair and asked softly, "Sweetheart, can't you sleep?"

Ah "e" nodded; she really couldn't sleep well, always thinking about Sitar.

I wonder if Sitar misses her.

Augustus: "Then Dad and Mom will go back with you and sleep together?"

Anno looked down at the government information being processed from various planets and shook her head. "Dad, you're busy. I'll go back by myself. I'll take a walk."

Augustus watched her get up and walk towards the back hall, and had no choice but to let her go, since Nancy was with her anyway.

Anno glanced at Nancy, who was following closely behind him, and grabbed a handful of hair in annoyance.

Her soft, long hair was slightly disheveled from her handling, making one want to gently smooth it out.

Nancy twitched her fingers, suppressing her urge to pat His Highness's cute little head.

She couldn't help but sigh in her heart. If only Her Highness had grown up in the Zerg, the personality she suppressed deep inside and only showed when she was drunk would have been her true nature. They could have seen her lovely appearance for many more years.

Thinking of this, he cursed the damned Northern River System a few more times in his heart.

Anno walked through the palace corridors. The palace was vast, and besides their residence, there were many empty rooms. Some were used to store rare items, some of which came from their insectoid star system, and some were gifts from other star systems. Anno wasn't interested in these things, so he didn't really look at them.

She was agitated and wandered through the long corridor of the palace's rear hall at varying speeds. Nancy felt sorry for her when he saw her like this, but he had to obey the Queen's orders.

Anno stopped in her tracks as she passed the Crystal Garden; she didn't want to return to the palace.

She is in a very strange state right now; she is very sleepy, yet also very energetic and excited.

She glanced at Nancy following behind her and simply sat down on the veranda.

Every now and then, glowing creatures flitted around the palace. One glowing creature, about the size of a palm and shaped like a butterfly with a long tail, circled under the crystal tree before flying to her.

Anno stared at it for a while, then reached out his hand.

The glowing creature lingered on her hand for a moment before flying away.

Anno couldn't help but smile. She controlled her expression, sat in the corridor for a while, and then got up and walked towards other palaces.

Nancy noticed that Anno wasn't heading in the direction of her palace. She figured the little princess was a bit sullen and probably didn't want to go back to sleep. But given her condition, she wouldn't last long before falling asleep, so she just followed along.

Anno wandered through the long corridors and finally arrived at an ancient palace.

Nancy saw the carvings at the entrance and said to her, "Your Highness, this is where the Queen Insects of each generation stored their treasures. There are also portraits of the Queens and Kings of each generation inside."

Anno nodded: "I'll go in and take a look."

Nancy stepped forward and pushed open the heavy door for her. The room was dimly lit and unlit. Anno took a step forward, then turned to look at Nancy: "Wait here for a while, I'll come out after I've looked around."

Nancy's eyes flickered slightly, and she was about to speak when she saw Anuo pouting and looking at him with her round eyes, as if she would get angry if he didn't agree. He smiled helplessly and gently, and took a step back: "Yes, Your Highness, I will stand at the door and not go anywhere."

Anno was satisfied and turned to enter the hall.

The spacious palace was filled with all sorts of items, some piled up randomly on the ground, others placed on high shelves. Some gemstones and crystals piled on the ground emitted a faint glow, providing a dim light to the palace so that it was not completely dark.

Anno ventured deeper into the hall and stopped in front of the wall on the right.

In front of her was a row of murals depicting the portraits of past queens and male insect kings.

The background scenes are mostly set in the main hall, with the queen sitting on a high throne and the male insect king standing beside her. When there is no male insect king, the queen is depicted alone in the scene.

Her gaze was drawn to the murals, and she looked at them one by one.

She discovered that not all queens were alone. Some queens without a male insect king would have their familiars included in the painting. Some had one familiar, some had two. She also saw a portrait of a queen with more than a dozen familiars, which should have been painted according to the queen's preferences.

Anno looked at the portraits thoughtfully. It seemed that not every queen treated her family like a mother.

Moreover, each portrait of the Queen has a different expression. The portrait is inscribed with the Queen's name and the length of her reign. Interestingly, after the Queen's name, her successor daughter is listed, rather than her mother.

Based on the names above, she found the successor of each queen, and then, based on the queen's expression in the portrait and the male insect king or her retinue in the painting, she deduced the personality traits of their daughters.

Each mother and daughter pair had a different expression and personality. Her gaze fell on the portrait of the 25th queen of the Zerg New Calendar. The queen sat lazily on the throne. She was wearing a beautiful long dress, with fair and beautiful skin. There were more than a dozen familiars standing around her. The queen was holding a cute little queen insect that was half-exposed in its original form.

The little king worm sat expressionlessly beside her, its back straight, not appearing close to the queen.

Following the names of the successors on the portrait of the queen, she looked at the portrait of the 26th queen next to it.

The little queen insect had grown up and, just like when she was a child, looked aloof and expressionless. Beside her was only a male queen insect, who looked down at her with a gentle expression.

Unlike her mother, who wore sexy gowns, the aloof queen wore a wide, cross-collar long dress, the elaborate gown making her appear both cold and ascetic.

Anno noticed a detail in the painting: the cool queen's hand emerged from her wide sleeve, grasping the hem of the male insect king's robe beside her. Her slightly forceful fingers seemed to indicate a degree of dependence, which contrasted sharply with her temperament.

After looking at a row of portraits of queens, Anno wanted to find a portrait of her mother, who was still in office, and wondered if there was one.

She tried to find the portraits by following the order of the queens' reigns, but discovered that not every queen had a portrait, and the order of the portraits was somewhat chaotic.

"Here."
