Chapter 418: Planet Vala

Chapter 418: Planet Vala

Anno had a restless sleep, her dreams were chaotic and disorganized.

When she woke up, she found herself nestled in Mingxiao's arms, while Sitar was lying on another chair.

Mingxiao's embrace was warm; he was still fast asleep, his arms wrapped around her.

Anuo recalled that when he put Mingxiao into the treatment pod, Jiang Fan said that his injuries would take at least a day to fully heal. He had only been lying down for one night, and his injuries probably weren't even fully healed yet.

She gently pulled open his shirt to check his injuries.

The moment she moved, Mingxiao opened her eyes.

"Your Highness, you're awake." Mingxiao's eyes still looked a little tired, but he immediately woke up when he saw Anuo wake up, his eyes sparkling as he looked at her.

Seeing Anuo's actions, he pulled open his clothes to show her: "Your Highness, don't worry, you'll be fine soon."

Anno noticed that there were still cracks on his outer armor, indicating that it was not fully healed yet.

His injury was unlike any other he had ever sustained; it was caused by the core abilities of several of the Queen Insects. Without the healing chamber, Mingxiao might not have survived.

The thought that he was so badly injured because of them filled Anuo with indescribable sadness.

She placed her hand on his chest and asked softly, "Does it still hurt?"

Mingxiao smiled and shook her head: "Your Highness, I'm not in pain, really."

Looking at Mingxiao's clear smile, Anuo's nose tingled with emotion. She hugged Mingxiao and patted the back of his head. "It's good that it doesn't hurt."

Mingxiao was startled when Anuo hugged her, then excitedly raised her hand, wanting to place it on Anuo's back. As she touched Anuo, she cautiously asked, "Your Highness, may I hug you too?"

Anno: "Okay."

Mingxiao immediately hugged her, but didn't dare to hug her too tightly, for fear of making her uncomfortable.

"Can your body recover on its own now?" Anno asked.

His injuries had penetrated deep into his body, and it was unknown how long it would take for him to recover on his own.

Mingxiao comforted him, "Your Highness, it's alright. Our branch has a strong ability to recover, so don't worry."

As soon as he finished speaking, a glowing tube extended in front of him.

Mingxiao and Anuo both looked through the tube and saw that Lingjiu had woken up at some point and was looking at them with cold eyes.

“There’s energy in this,” he said.

Mingxiao and Anuo exchanged a glance and communicated in their consciousness network.

"Your Highness, it seems like he's trying to befriend us?"

“He is Caesar’s alter ego, and his obsession is to find me. I am right next to him now, so he shouldn’t do anything to us. You should restore yourself first.”

"good."

Mingxiao put Anuo down, grabbed the glowing tube, and connected it to his own whip.

Anno watched as the mechanical Caesar removed all the tubes from his body. She moved closer to him and tried to communicate with him.

"May I have your name?"

Lingjiu saw her looking up at him and asking him a question, so he squatted down in front of her and pointed to the words on his left arm.

Anno looked over and saw a number on his left arm that read: 09

"Your name is Zero Nine?"

"Um."

Anno paused for a moment, then asked, "This is your number. What race are you?"

"It doesn't matter anymore." Zero Nine stood up and walked to the driver's seat.

Mingxiao said to her in the consciousness network: "Your Highness, the mechanical materials on his body come from the Landno star system and are their most advanced technology."

Anno asked, "Is Zero Nine an experiment from the Landno Galaxy?"

Mingxiao said, "It shouldn't be. The Landno Galaxy doesn't like to combine biology and machinery. They prefer fully intelligent machines controlled by humans. I think someone must have stolen their technology."

Anno walked over to Zero Nine, looked at the cosmic star map displayed on the control panel, and moved his fingers across it.

The star chart showed a galaxy that was unfamiliar to her. She glanced at her personal computer, but there was still no signal.

"The quantum computer is useless here, and there is no Skynet."

Ling Jiu said without blinking.

Anno asked him, "Where are you taking us?"

Ling Jiu turned and glanced at her: "Let's go to my place."

Anno watched as the spaceship underwent a jump, and half an hour later, the spaceship jumped to an unfamiliar planet.

It felt like entering a primeval wilderness.

The spaceship was surrounded by a broken asteroid belt, with gray and red haze of light as far as the eye could see, and many other damaged spaceships, making it look like a battlefield.

Zero Nine piloted the spaceship into cruise mode, traversing the asteroid belt and heading towards a gray-green planet ahead.

Anno opened the star map of this area. Besides the planet named Vala, there were several other planets nearby that only had numbers.

The spaceship quickly entered orbit around Vala, a planet with a very peculiar appearance. It had collided with an asteroid, shattering a quarter of its surface into space, but due to gravity, it remained locked together with the remaining portion of the asteroid.

Presumably, at the moment of impact, the people on the planet somehow managed to hold back the asteroid, thus preserving most of the planet despite the collision.

The spaceship passed through asteroid debris and landed on Vala.

There is no spaceship port here; only occasionally can you see a few spaceships flying by.
