Chapter Thirty-Two: Leopard
Before Anno stood a leopard with a body as large as a small mountain.
With its gray-white fur, black spots, and amber vertical pupils, the way it lay in the living room looking at her was so elegant and handsome that she was amazed.
That leopard is so beautiful!
She had seen many leopards in the apocalypse, some of which had mutated and grown much larger, and others of which were humans whose genes had merged with leopards. None of them had a beastly body as beautiful as Tang Ting.
Even though Tang Ting looked at her with very gentle eyes, she could still feel the pressure from his huge body and the murderous intent hidden beneath his amber vertical pupils.
His physique is sleek and his muscles are firm and powerful. He looks agile and elegant yet extremely explosive, combining strength and beauty, making him a perfect hunting machine.
She kept marveling to herself, he was just so handsome!
Seeing Anuo's eyes gleaming as she stared at Tang Ting's beast form, Luo Jin knew that she liked it.
She knew that Anno was not afraid of the giant prototypes of the beast races when she brought her from Casa. Regardless of whether she had interacted with other beast races before, she had already seen the beast forms of Hicks and the others during the two days they spent together. So she did not stop her from seeing Tang Ting's beast form.
Tang Ting, however, was a little worried, afraid that he might scare her.
The other Fire Seed cubs would be terrified to see a leopard this big, or even one smaller than themselves.
Seeing the cub's interested expression and the lack of fear on its face, he felt a little relieved.
Luo Jin carried Anuo to Tang Ting and put her down. Tang Ting was too tall to stand up, so she had been lying down, her posture very elegant.
Anno couldn't help but reach out and stroke Tang Ting's smooth and soft fur. The touch was very comfortable. She could feel Tang Ting's steady heartbeat and the energy hidden within him.
It was a very gentle energy, but much more concentrated than that of Hicks and his group.
Tang Ting gently nuzzled Anuo with his big head. Anuo looked at the "big cat" in front of him, pursed his lips and couldn't help but smile. He touched Tang Ting's fluffy head a couple of times and then withdrew his hand.
Perhaps because of the mutated big cat that warmed her during the cold winter, she has a great fondness for felines.
Seeing that Anuo finally smiled, Tang Ting felt that the transformation into a beast form had not been in vain.
His animalistic instincts made him want to stick out his tongue and lick her, but his tongue was covered in barbs, so he held back.
"Ring ring..."
The doorbell rang, and a projection jumped out from the door; it was two physicians who had come to deliver medicine.
Tang Ting transformed back into human form, put on his clothes, and opened the door. Just as he took the medicine from the physician, he saw Wu Sui, the adjutant beside Luo Jin, walking towards them.
"Dr. Tang Ting".
Wu Sui greeted him respectfully.
When Luo Jin saw Wu Sui arrive, he asked, "What is it?"
"Commander, we have reached the outer defense line of Canghai Star. There are quite a few ships going through inspection today, so we need to wait for a while."
Upon hearing this, Luo Jin frowned slightly. "Didn't we already explain the situation to the governor of Canghai Star in advance and ask them to reserve a special route for us?"
Canghai Star is the outermost of the inner planets in the Beihe System, and it is the most important planetary defense line protecting the inner circle. Once you cross Canghai Star, you will enter the most prosperous inner circle of the Beihe System.
All spaceships passing through this area must undergo rigorous inspections before they can proceed. Spaceships that fail to pass inspection are not permitted to dock at any starport or space station within the inner star system. If discovered, they will be immediately seized and investigated.
After receiving the cub from Casa Star, it took them almost a day to reach Canghai Star because Casa Star did not have a corresponding jump point.
Their journey there was smooth sailing, without any incidents, and they arrived in just over a day. However, on the return trip, they encountered several minor incidents involving various star beasts that roamed around in space. These star beasts disrupted the spaceship's flight path and were a bit troublesome to clear, which delayed them.
It will take them another day to get back to their home planet from Canghai Star, and this is already their fastest starship.
There are no jump points set up within the main galaxy. This is because there were too many wars in the past, and the jump points were all cleared to protect the inner galaxies.
It's not just the Northern River system that does this; many star systems in the Interstellar Alliance tacitly set their jump points near a planet on the outermost edge of the main star system. In the event of a large-scale war, this would be the main star system's last line of defense.
The shipping routes on Canghai Star are always very busy. Ordinary spaceships and merchant ships can wait a little longer without any problem, but warships or spaceships with special missions or other urgent needs have a green channel.
Before coming, Lokin had already made a prior application explaining that they were there to take the Fire Seed Cub back to the main star. This was a top-level mission, so how could things go wrong at this crucial moment?
Wu Sui said, "The captain received the anchorage notice from Starport, and that's what it said. We were also very confused. We communicated with the person in charge, and they said they had not received any orders from their superiors and were currently handling the matter."
As Wu Sui spoke, his gaze fell on the little cub standing next to Luo Jin.
He could have spoken directly to Lockin on the quantum computer, but he happened to be passing by the cub's living quarters when he received the message, so he came over and spoke to her, and also got to see the Fireseed cub.
...Okay, he came all this way just to see the little cub.
Anuo felt Wu Sui's gaze, looked up at him, and when their eyes met, his usually stern face softened, and he gave her a faint smile.
Anno looked at him for a while, then suddenly said, "Big cat?"
Wu Sui was taken aback. What big cat?
Luo Jin and Tang Ting both looked at Anuo and couldn't help but laugh.
Wu Sui is a black panther, but its genetic level has reached S-level, which is considered the pinnacle of the beast species.
Anuo smelled a similar scent on Wu Sui to Tang Ting. She didn't know what the leopard said, so she just called him "big cat".
The language of this world is completely different from that of Earth. If she couldn't understand what they were saying, it would be very difficult for her to learn it.
Wu Sui quickly realized what Anuo was talking about. Although leopards and cats are somewhat similar, how could a cat compare to a fierce leopard?
He said gently, "I am a leopard, not a cat."
Anno nodded, indicating that she understood.
She remembered this man; he had come to rescue them with Logan, and he was also very powerful.
Various messages kept popping up on Luo Jin's personal computer, information from the starship's main control room and the planet Canghai waiting for her to process.
She knelt down in front of Anuo, patted her head and said, "Baby, be good. There are some things I need to take care of. Baby, stay with Daddy and Uncle Tang. I'll be back soon."
This time, Anno did not nod in response to Lokin. When she saw Lokin get up and walk out, she grabbed the hem of her dress.
She didn't want to be alone in the room. Even with Tang Ting there, she would feel uneasy. Now she trusted Luo Jin more.
She also wanted to go out and see the world, to learn more about where she lived.
