Chapter 514: Another World
When Anno woke up, the spaceship was already close to the main star of the Tianyun Galaxy.
When Caesar entered the rest cabin, he saw the little princess sitting by the porthole, lost in thought. She was huddled in the chair, her long, slightly curly hair hanging down to the ground, her hair a little frizzy and messy from sleeping, with a few stray hairs sticking up on her head.
He chuckled silently, walked over, and couldn't resist placing his hand on her head, but quickly withdrew it.
He was always so cautious in front of her. Although he always seemed to have a strong desire for her on the surface, deep down he dared not touch her.
His Highness was an obsession in her heart, yet also like a god.
He longed to be by her side and become her closest person, yet he dared not stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods, for that would be blasphemy.
Only his clone, the clone obsessed with finding her, could get close to her without any scruples.
"Your Highness, what are you thinking about?"
Caesar looked at Anno's chubby profile, which made him want to reach out and pinch it.
Anno snapped out of her daze upon hearing his voice and turned to look at him.
"I'm thinking about the dream I just had."
"Dream?"
Caesar pulled up a chair and sat down next to her, listening attentively to what she had to say.
“Hmm.” Anno nodded and said, “Lately I’ve been dreaming of a dark forest, as well as a dark ocean, rivers, and mountains. I’m always stuck in black mud and can’t move. Then I see many people who look like insectoids, doing some strange things that I don’t quite understand.”
Caesar asked, "What do these people, who resemble the Zerg, look like?"
After Caesar finished asking his question, Anno grabbed his hand and placed it next to her cheek. Tentacles sprouted from her forehead, glowing faintly, as she conveyed her dream to him.
The images in her mind appeared in Caesar's consciousness.
Caesar saw those people who resembled the insectoid race, as Anno had described. They had dark red and black insect patterns on their bodies, strange appearances, a kind of rugged yet wild beauty, and various jet-black horns on their heads.
Indeed, they resemble the Zerg; these people are Shadow Zerg.
Caesar remembered that His Highness had never drawn information about the Shadow Zerg from the consciousness network before.
The Zerg's information network is too vast, with information accumulating since the Zerg formed their consciousness network tens of thousands of years ago. The little princess has only recently returned to the Zerg, and there is too much information to process. She is currently receiving far too little information.
If I haven't been intentionally trying to receive the consciousness of the Shadow Zerg, why do I often dream about them?
Although dreams are uncontrollable and often bizarre, Caesar did not consider such a specific dream a coincidence.
The Shadow Clan's recent frequent activity among the Zerg forces have forced them to be on high alert.
Facing a similar race with the same roots but which we don't understand very well could be more dangerous than any known civilization in the universe today.
Caesar gently touched Anno's cheek. "Your Highness, did you have contact with them in your dream?"
Anno rubbed her eyes and said, "No, I wake up every time they walk towards me."
At this point, Anuo seemed to remember something, placed her hand on the core of her body, and asked, "Feixing, did you awaken me?"
Fei Xing said in their consciousness, "Yes, Anunu, your dream should be an ability of the Shadow Insects. I can't explain what this ability is right now, but they can communicate with you through dreams. I think you can't contact them yet."
When Anno and Caesar heard this, they were both a little surprised. It really was the Shadow Insects who did it?
"They can communicate with me through my dreams, this ability..."
Anno and Caesar exchanged a glance and said, "Can't Tanvir do the same thing?"
Fei Xing said, "My little princess, this is not quite right. What you are seeing may not be a dream."
Anno was slightly taken aback, not quite understanding Feixing's words.
Caesar understood, and his expression turned serious. If that was the case, the Shadow Clan was even more mysterious and difficult to deal with than they had imagined.
Seeing that Anno still looked puzzled, Caesar explained to her, "Your Highness, what King Feixing means is that you may not be in a dream, but rather your consciousness has connected to a real world."
"The real world? Is that even possible?"
Although she was dreaming, the Zerg possessed a powerful consciousness network, and as the Queen Zerg, she could sense the existence of other people's consciousness and bodies even while asleep. This was a strong perception; she could feel her own body and the objects around her in her sleep, as if they were real entities in this world.
This is also a very special aspect of the Zerg. They possess a soul-like consciousness, yet they also have a strong sense of grounding and physical presence. In other words, they simultaneously believe in the soul, nature, and the science and technology of the real world.
Anno felt as if he were in a dream and did not realize that he had gone to another world.
Fei Xing said, "Anunu, it's true that you feel it's a dream. It is indeed a dream for you, but if you come into contact with them, you might be able to perceive the reality of another world."
Anno thought of the polluted forests and oceans, and the strange sacrificial scenes, and asked, "If I come into contact with them, will my consciousness be able to return to my body?"
This was a very important question, and Caesar asked Fei Xing with a very solemn expression.
Fei Xing pondered for a moment and said, "I'm not quite sure either. In the early days, not long after the Zerg consciousness network was built, the Shadow Zerg and our Light Zerg separated. Now, the only information about them that is preserved in the consciousness network is the very first bit. Over so many eras, we have rarely had direct contact with them. Even when they are the ones who take the initiative to harass us, they only show themselves once and then run away."
"To our shame, we are more concerned about the threat posed to us by the Shadow Zerg than by other civilizations and races in the universe."
Anno understood Feixing's concerns. After all, the Shadow Insects and they were of the same origin. They might not understand the current Shadow Insects, but the Shadow Insects might understand them.
If the Shadow Race were to make a comeback and wage war against the Light and Shadow Insects, returning to the lands of Sivitro, it could be an unimaginable war.
This possibility will be discovered in her mother Séville, or in her time, something she could not avoid no matter what.
"Your Highness, please do not have any contact with them for now."
After a brief encounter with Anno, Caesar immediately understood her thoughts.
Anno nodded. "Don't worry, I will act cautiously."
After washing up, Anno went to the spaceship's restaurant for a meal, and the spaceship had already entered the orbit of Tianxiu Star.
"It's currently summer in the capital of Tianxiu Star, so Your Highness can change into more comfortable clothes."
Bai Yan Tanwell found her a cute little dress and a pair of overalls, and Anno chose the overalls.
After changing her clothes, she yawned and lay on the table while they combed her hair.
Bai Yan combed her hair into two ponytails and then put gemstone hair clips on her head.
After they were almost ready, their spaceship landed at the spaceship port.
It was daytime, and Caesar had put sunglasses on her, but she still wasn't used to the bright light.
As soon as Anno stepped off the spaceship, he was greeted by a cacophony of voices; the vast spaceship port was bustling with activity.
This is ten years later, and Anno has returned to the Tianyun Galaxy.
She slept for so long that the fantastical and beautiful dreams still kept flashing through her mind, making her feel as if more than ten years had passed.
She studied at Tianyun University for two years, during which she made many friends. Ten years have passed, and she wonders how they are doing now. Presumably, they all have jobs and families now.
"Nono!"
A familiar voice rang out from ahead.
Anno looked up and saw Anaiya waving at her from the exit.
When she saw Anaiya again, she had a feeling that things had changed, but Anaiya was still the same as before, and didn't seem to have changed much.
No, there have been some changes. Her eyes have become gentler, and she seems to have grown taller. She has become more mature. If she used to be a princess, now she is a queen who can calmly handle all kinds of political affairs.
Anuo looked down at herself and felt helpless and amused. She... she was still a little cub.
She walked quickly to the exit, and Anaiya picked her up and kissed her little face. "I missed you so much, Nuonuo! You're finally awake. If you hadn't woken up, I would have become an old woman."
Of course, this was just a joke from Anaiya. How could she possibly become an old woman? Even at the very last moment of her life, the Holy Spirit would maintain a youthful appearance.
Anaya could communicate with Anno's consciousness. She sensed Anno's thoughts and said with a smile, "It's okay, Anno. You're very cute now, just like my daughter."
Anuo reached out and pinched her cheek. "That's enough. I'm going to get angry if you keep joking around."
The fact that she was both an old woman and a daughter inevitably reminded Anno of the lifespan difference between her and Anaya, making it seem as if a permanent separation was imminent.
"It's my fault, it's my fault, I won't say anything more."
Anaya hugged her tightly, put her down, and said to the two boys who looked to be fourteen or fifteen years old and a girl who looked to be thirteen or fourteen, "Little Star, Little Snowball, you'll soon meet your auntie."
Auntie? Anuo was both amused and exasperated. What kind of address was that?
"It's Princess Sister!"
Snowball ran up to Anuo with a bright smile and bent down slightly. "Princess sister, why have you shrunk again? Is it because you don't have enough energy?"
Her mother, Anaya, is a Holy Spirit; if she doesn't have enough energy, she will shrink.
The little star Cang Yao, who looked almost exactly like Cang Miao, said expressionlessly, "The Zerg and the Holy Spirit have different energy methods."
As he spoke, he reached out and pulled his sister to Anuo, and greeted her politely, "Hello, Aunt Princess."
One called her "aunt" and the other "sister." Anuo could only smile helplessly and exchange a glance with Anaya before having Mingxiao and the others give the gifts they had prepared to the children.
