Chapter 513: Werewolf Face-to-Face Kill

Chapter 513: Werewolf Face-to-Face Kill

It was nearly noon when Anno and his group finally set off for the Tianyun Galaxy.

Although Caesar can open spatial portals, the Tianyun Galaxy has strengthened its defenses over the past decade. Even with Caesar's powerful spatial abilities, it is difficult for him to directly open a spatial portal into the interior of the galaxy.

Anno didn't want Caesar to go through that trouble. Anyway, they had plenty of time now. Opening the space gate to the outer edge of the Tianyun star system and then heading to the main star of Tianyun wouldn't take much time.

And so, the seven members of their families, each carrying a suitcase, arrived at the alien reception hall on a small planet on the outer defense line of the Tianyun star system, and then boarded their spaceship directly to the main star.

As soon as they emerged from the portal, they were greeted by diplomats from the Tianyun Galaxy.

"Welcome, Your Highness, to the Tianyun Star System. We have prepared lunch, and we would like to invite Your Highness and everyone to dine here."

The diplomat spoke respectfully to Anno.

Anno shook his head: "No need, I'm not hungry right now. Let's just take the spaceship to the main planet."

"Yes, Your Highness."

After seeing Anno and the others off on the spaceship, the diplomats exchanged bewildered glances and couldn't help but discuss among themselves, "How come after ten years, this princess of the Zerg seems to be getting younger and younger?"

"It seems that if the Zerg's core energy weakens, their bodies will shrink as well."

"This is somewhat similar to the Holy Spirit."

"Yes, they are both made of energy, but the body of the King Worm is controllable, while the Holy Spirit is not."

"......"

After the spaceship started, Anno went into the rest cabin. It would take about a day to get from here to Tianyun Main Star. He could get there after a good night's sleep.

However, she was wide awake, thinking about how she was about to see Sister Nai and her other friends, but she was still a child, which made her feel a little melancholy.

Her core energy is already quite stable, so why does the Dark Light Queen want to temporarily seal her core? She wants to grow up and meet Sister Nai.

Feixing sensed her worry and comforted her, "Anunu, you'll be able to regain your full size in a while. You've been sleeping for too long, and your consciousness needs to be channeled slowly. You can't absorb energy too quickly all at once."

In short, her core is too strong now, and she has two cores. The two cores must protect and restrain each other, otherwise the excessive energy will amplify her Zerg genes, which means she will be even more irritable than Sevier.

Anno sighed twice in her heart and stopped worrying about whether she would grow bigger or smaller.

She couldn't sleep either, and since her family members had nothing to do besides their usual guard duty, she pulled them together to play cards.

She saw an interesting game on her personal computer; it was a very old board game, supposedly from Earth, called Werewolf.

She watched a few videos of others playing and learned how to do it. After sharing it with several other relatives in her mind network, she invited them to play together.

She had already asked Caesar to buy the cards, but they still didn't have enough people, so she brought over a few more of her fellow second-class Zerg companions, making a total of sixteen people, who sat around a large round table.

Even when seated, those second-class dependents stood upright, looking very proper, as if they were not playing a game but holding a pre-battle meeting.

Anno told them to relax, and then had one of the accompanying Tianyun staff members act as the judge and deal the cards to them.

Once the cards were dealt, all sixteen Zerg players, including Anno, hadn't even spoken or looked at each other yet. In less than a second, they all knew who held which cards.

There was one person whom no one else knew: Tanville.

Originally, everyone was thinking of putting on an act, playing with the little princess for a while, and making her happy, but once they made eye contact, they couldn't hold back anymore.

With one person covering their face and another bowing their head, it really felt like they couldn't keep up the act.

They felt they had never had such a rich array of expressions in their lives.

Bai Yan: "...This game doesn't seem to be suitable for the Zerg."

Tanville raised an eyebrow and said, "Really? I think it suits you quite well."

Secris said expressionlessly, "If you're so capable, then don't use your abilities."

Tanville clicked his tongue and said, "Don't you guys just cut off the consciousness network?"

Mingxiao raised his hand and said, "I cut it off."

Then his hand fell limply to his side, "but I still couldn't resist looking at the others."

Tanville put down his cards and said to them, "I'll be the judge. I'll find out if anyone secretly looks at other people's cards in their consciousness network. Now, everyone, disconnect from your consciousness networks."

Anno thought this was good; even if someone used the consciousness network to spy on Tanwell's abilities, he could block them.

So Tanville was replaced by the staff member who acted as the judge.

This staff member from the Tianyun Galaxy was clearly good at this game, and sat down happily.

The game restarted, and this time, under Tanwell's supervision, no one could see what cards the other had. During the game, Mingxiao and Heiyao couldn't help but try to peek, but Tanwell warned them both.

The other Zerg players found it quite novel; this was the first time they had played such a game, where they had to hide their own identities and guess what others were doing. Zerg were not good at lying.

The good guys need to stick together, but some important divine cards can't be exposed too early, because if they are, they'll be killed by the wolves from the bad guys.

In the first round, everyone was still a bit unfamiliar with the game. Although they had communicated the rules of the game through the consciousness network before, it was a different story to actually play it.

Anno received a werewolf card. When the six werewolves opened their eyes at night, the other five werewolves were Cyrus White Flame, Obsidian, and a second-class familiar.

Judge Tanville began, “Please choose the person you wish to kill.”

Anno hadn't moved yet; apart from the second-class servant, the other three all pointed at Caesar.

Then, the second-class dependent hesitated for a moment, looked at Anno, and raised his uncertain hand to point at Caesar.

Anno: Okay, the minority shall obey the majority.

On the first night, Caesar was slain.

As he left the stage, a smile played on his lips, his eyes sweeping over the crowd with a sharp, piercing gaze. He wanted to see who had killed him.

On the second night, he figured out which wolves they were.

Then, he glanced at Anno, and lowered his eyes as if somewhat saddened.

Anno: "..."

The first game ended with the bad guys winning because everyone believed their little princess's words: she said that if she had a good guy card, then she had a good guy card.

Then, everyone saw their little prince run off to coax Caesar.

"It's just a game, don't be sad," Anno said, patting his head.

Caesar held her small hand and said, "Your Highness, I'm not sad. I know they all chose me, so you chose me too, right?"

Anno nodded.

Caesar smiled slightly and glanced at them again.

In the second game, Anno only got the regular villager cards, and after the first night, Caesar died again.

Clearly, he was being targeted.

This time, everyone's acting skills were obviously much more mature. Without being connected to the consciousness network, Caesar felt that everyone except the little prince was a suspect.

In the following rounds, Caesar was almost always the first to be eliminated, and he was nearly at his breaking point.

Then Bai Yan and the others looked at him innocently, "Vanguard, wolves are meant to kill, killing anyone is the same."

In the seventh game, Anno took the Witch card and saved Caesar when he was killed again.

During his speech, Caesar also drew a Prophet card, even though no one else believed him.

In contrast to Anor, who had only spent a few years with Caesar, the other members of his household had been with him for over three hundred years and knew how unreliable his words were. They had to be wary of Caesar in all matters other than official business.

But since their young prince claimed to have saved Caesar, the good guys had no choice but to believe him.

As a result, the werewolf faction won this round.

Caesar Mingxiao and several other second-class followers were from the werewolf faction. They killed almost all the clergy, leaving only Anno and his group at the very end.

After a few more rounds, the Tianyun staff member started pulling his hair.

He genuinely felt that the game had lost its original flavor when played by these Zerg players.

For example, they would absolutely believe whatever their princess said, so even if she got the wolf card, she was still a good person. As long as she got the wolf card, the wolf would win, and she would always be left until the last one.

If he hadn't known the Zerg's absolute loyalty and obedience to the Overlord, he would have thought this wasn't a game, but a matter of human relationships.

Moreover, they are far more adept at navigating social interactions than they are at it.

Anno also realized this and felt that if she played the game, it would always be in her favor, which would be no fun.

So she switched places with Tanville, and she became the judge.

Once she was substituted, the game finally got back on track.

The Tianyun staff member and other Tianyun people who were watching witnessed the Zerg's amazing learning and logical abilities.

They are naturally good at hiding their emotions, or rather, their emotions don't fluctuate much. Almost everyone can play games with a blank expression.

After several rounds of games, the place seemed to have turned into a battlefield. Anno sat cross-legged in the middle of the table, watching with great interest, and the others even brought her some snacks.

The game didn't end until Anno finally fell asleep on the table, exhausted.

As soon as the game ended, the consciousness network opened, and instantly the sounds of the followers arguing and reviewing the game could be heard from within it.

"Brother, you don't believe me! I've already said I'm a prophet, why do you still believe Tanwell!"

"Because his words are more credible."

"Tsk tsk tsk, you guys are too naive. The more believable a game is, the less believable it becomes."

"Keep your voice down, His Highness is asleep, all of you shut up."

The consciousness network fell silent instantly.

Caesar carried the sleeping Anno back to the rest pod, while Mingxiao and the others huddled together to continue their quiet discussion.
