Chapter 303: IF Path Bazel: Spoiled
It was night, and a torrential downpour was falling. Anno was aimlessly wandering around the capital in his aircraft.
The aircraft flew between towering skyscrapers, the rain and mist making these neon-lit steel buildings look like monsters hiding in the darkness.
She felt as if she were being looked down upon by a giant monster, which made her feel heavy-hearted and somewhat breathless.
Anno placed her hand on her heart and touched the energy stone pendant she wore around her neck.
In recent years, she has worn the energy stone at all times, and her good health is entirely dependent on it.
She had accidentally lost her energy stone pendant, and within just one day, she began to feel unwell.
She could clearly feel that the older she got, the more energy she needed. For a while, No. 29 kept looking for energy minerals with higher energy concentration for her.
She knows her body best; she always feels there's a huge void inside her, and all the energy goes to fill that void.
But it seems like it can never be filled.
She placed her hand on her heart, turned on the soundproofing to block out the outside noise, and felt her heart beating. Perhaps because she was still a little angry, her heart was beating faster.
What was she angry about? Was she angry that Bazel and her second brother had told her they were going to send her away like that?
Her gaze fell on the control panel, where three small dolls were placed. They were chibi versions of her and her two older brothers. She stood in the middle, with her two brothers on either side of her. Behind the dolls was a photo of the three of them together.
Her two older brothers lifted her up, and she smiled brightly.
She never knew she could laugh so happily.
Looking at the photo, Anuo unconsciously smiled, but after a while, the corners of her mouth slowly turned down.
She is about to face a future she doesn't know.
Unknown, unfamiliar people, an unfamiliar home.
Anno gripped the energy pendant in her hand, switched the aircraft to automatic mode, then left the pilot's seat, walked to the back, opened the storage compartment, took out a fluffy rabbit ear hat, loosened her ponytail, casually tousled her messy long hair, and put the hat on her head.
With her head wrapped in a soft hat, she breathed a sigh of relief, lay back on the back seat, pulled out a blanket from the storage compartment, wrapped herself in it, and felt the sense of security of being tightly wrapped up.
The intelligent system reminded her from time to time where the aircraft was, where the next place was, which road was restricted and she needed to wait, and the projection screen above her head was constantly lit up.
She watched for a while, then had the system open the skylight, watching the heavy rain fall overhead through the glass.
The sky was overcast and nothing could be seen clearly. Bright lights flickered in the fog, and every now and then, patrol guards with very bright lights would fly by.
Above her head were crisscrossing railway tracks, and the train lights flashed past Anno's sight before disappearing into the darkness.
It's like heading to a mysterious place from which there is no return.
Her thoughts wandered as she looked at the skyscrapers, flying vehicles, and trains, as if she had entered a fantastical and bizarre dream.
After a while, she sat up, activated the aircraft's concealment mode, and parked it on the helipad of a building.
After landing, she got out of the aircraft and walked toward the nearest train platform.
The rain outside had lessened a bit, but the light drizzle, carrying a chill, fell on her. Her aircraft had an umbrella, but she had forgotten to bring it.
Seeing that the rain wasn't heavy, she didn't want to go back to get it.
And so, I walked slowly and steadily toward the platform in the rain.
Two figures followed her at a distance that was neither too close nor too far. They were both anxious and distressed to see that she wasn't using an umbrella. They wanted to go forward but were afraid that she didn't want to see them, so they could only follow.
At 10 p.m., there were not many people left on the train platform. Anno sat on a bench, waiting for the next train.
She was wearing headphones with some of her favorite songs playing. Most of them didn't have lyrics and were just instrumental music that could bring peace of mind.
After sitting for a while, she felt a little cold.
She didn't think too much when she came out. There was heating indoors, and the platform was high up, built at the top of the building. It was windy on all sides, and it was raining and cold at night. The wind made her feel much more energetic.
She sighed; how could she have forgotten to bring the blanket?
Fortunately, she didn't have to wait long. The train arrived at the station quickly, and she boarded the train by swiping her personal terminal at the entrance.
More passengers boarded one after another, but Anuo didn't pay any attention and found an empty seat to sit down.
The train has heating and provides blankets, clothing, food, etc. There is a service point in each carriage. She went to the service point and asked the attendant for a blanket.
She took the blanket from the waiter, felt its texture, smelled its scent, and then returned it to the waiter.
The waitress was a pretty young woman. When Anuo returned the blanket to her, she said in surprise, "Little friend, don't you like this blanket? It's new."
Anno shook her head and said, "Thank you, but I don't need it now."
She returned to her seat, sighed, and closed her eyes.
She was indeed spoiled by Bazel and her second brother. They prepared the best things for her, and her new clothes and blankets were all washed and had her favorite fragrance. Because she was prone to allergies, they carefully washed and disinfected her clothes every time.
She felt the blanket wasn't soft enough, and the smell of the new blanket made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
In just five years, they spoiled her so much that she went from sleeping in ruins to a pampered young lady who didn't even like a new blanket.
The thought of them sending her away and making her leave them made her even angrier.
The train sped through the city, raindrops pattered against the windows, and it was pitch black outside, so nothing could be seen.
With no one in the seat next to her and only a few people scattered around in the carriage, Anuo leaned against the window, propped her chin up, and looked outside for a while before feeling sleepy.
The train has no fixed destination and will keep moving. The fare will be automatically settled on the computer when you get off. She thought she might as well just take a nap on the train.
Anno touched the gun and folding knife at his waist, then lay down on his seat and drifted off to sleep, listening to the sound of the train.
A man sitting on the right side of the aisle saw Anno lie down and wanted to sit next to her. As he got up and approached, a hand was placed on his shoulder.
The man followed the hand's gaze and met a pair of cold, heterochromatic eyes.
