Chapter 330: Becoming Yourself

Chapter 330: Becoming Yourself

During her youth, Séville went through several very rebellious periods.

As her abilities grew stronger, and given her volatile and easily angered temper, she had many arguments with her mother and ran away from home several times.

She traveled to other star systems alone in her spaceship, without any family or relatives.

Her mother never looked for her and forbade her relatives to come looking for her, leaving her to wander alone outside, not caring whether she lived or died.

In the past, the Queen Worm worried about her baby Queen Worms, protecting them like treasures and daring not to release them. But with the Dark Light Queen, there is no such care.

She didn't even have a personal computer, and she didn't have much money on her. She exchanged the ore she was carrying for some money, but it was quickly swindled away.

She beat the swindler half to death, but didn't get much money back. However, she did find a way to make money: the arena.

She had almost never lost in the arena; her mother had said that she would either die or win.

She is the future queen of the Zerg, and we absolutely cannot lose.

During her time away, she traveled between several planets, but they were all relatively backward or chaotic. She really couldn't understand the Skynet and the quantum computer. At this time, the Zerg refused to communicate or make contact with other races, and she hadn't learned anything about other races from the consciousness network. Those planets were very strict with their checks, and her little, dilapidated spaceship couldn't pass the inspections.

However, she did quite well, being invincible in the arena and gradually making a name for herself.

As she basked in her self-satisfaction, an Alliance governor, via interstellar broadcast, tremblingly conveyed a message on the arena's giant screen: "The Dark Light Queen's message: Either come back here, or die outside. Don't embarrass me!"

Sevier laughed.

She was being rebellious and really didn't go back.

She could not possibly be unaware that her mother, Her Majesty the Great Queen, sent her back simply because she felt she had embarrassed herself outside.

Anyway, no one recognized her, so her disguise was quite convincing.

However, she didn't stay outside for too long. She probably got bored and there were no opponents left in the arena, so she obediently went back inside.

As soon as she returned, the Dark Light Queen broke her legs.

This was the first time her mother had ever attacked her, and she was shocked to realize that her mother hadn't fought anyone personally for many years since she was born.

However, the entire intergalactic world still trembles with fear at the name of the Dark Light Queen, to the point that people's legs would shake at the mere mention of her name.

She didn't get a few blows from her mother, who beat her half to death.

Her outer armor, which had been constantly peeling away and hardening during battles, was easily shattered by her, causing her to cry from the pain.

"So capable? You can only beat some trash outsiders. You can't even touch a single finger of mine."

She was furious.

The king's strong sense of self-esteem was crushed to pieces by its even stronger mother.

She began to challenge her mother again and again, training like a madwoman, only to be beaten down by her mother time and time again.

She kept losing, and often had to be carried back by her family. Her mother was much harsher on her as an adult than she was as a child, beating her so badly that she couldn't even crawl and was barely clinging to life.

She didn't want to be the useless person her mother talked about; she was a queen! The future queen!

How can you be weaker than your mother!

Over the years, she has both loved and hated her mother. She loves her because she is her mother, and she hates her because she is her mother.

She went to the Treasure Hall and looked at the portraits of the queens of the past countless times. No queen was as ruthless and cold-blooded as her mother. She had taken the cold-bloodedness of the insectoid race to the extreme.

But she had to admit that her mother had also taken the Zerg's power to its extreme.

The mother may not be the strongest in Zerg history, but she is still among the top.

She often looked at the portraits of the little queen insects in other queens' paintings and felt envious.

She thought that when her mother left behind a portrait, perhaps she could be included in it as well.

The mother has no male king, and she doesn't favor any of her kin, but at least she is the closest person to her mother.

Until one day, she saw her mother's portrait among the Queen's portraits in the Treasury.

The mother is depicted alone in the painting, holding a sword, looking dignified and upright.

The painting only listed the name of her successor, but did not include her in the picture.

A thought flashed through her mind: her mother didn't love her, and didn't even want her to be in the painting.

Is it because she is too weak?

From a young age, her mother seemed to dislike her, feeling that she wasn't strong enough. When she was a few years old, she was afraid that her mother would give up on her, that if she were gone, there would be new and stronger Ohmu.

She disappointed her mother.

In the next battle, although she lost, it wasn't as humiliating as before. Her resentment and anger fueled her fighting spirit, allowing her to unleash even greater power.

She hurt her mother for the first time, though she hurt her more badly.

She laughed, and she cried.

Overwhelmed with resentment, she lay on the ground, panting, her chest heaving violently, biting her lip and holding back tears.

She couldn't help but sob softly.

She seemed to hear her mother sigh, and then her mother squatted down in front of her.

This seemed to be the second time her mother had knelt down in front of her. The first time was when she won her first battle, and her mother's tall figure looked at her eye to eye as she handed her a knife she had personally crafted.

"Why are you crying? Does it hurt that much? You're already an adult insect, and you're still so fragile."

She lay on the ground glaring at her mother, "Of course it hurts! It hurts so much!"

The mother said, "It's good that it hurts; pain keeps you awake."

Her mother hadn't spoken to her in such a calm tone in a long time, and as Sevier listened to her mother's tone, she suddenly recalled her own childhood.

Although her mother was strict with her, she would often look at her calmly and speak to her in a calm tone.

Compared to her own volatile temper and the other Zerg kin, her mother's emotions were remarkably stable, almost unbelievably so.

Her mother's strict training of her was at most met with indifference, but she never lost her temper or her emotions.

She lay on the ground, wiping away her tears with her broken hand.

The mother placed her hand on her forehead, channeling energy into her body to heal her wounds.

She froze, then grabbed her mother's hand tightly and looked directly into her eyes: "Mother, don't you have even a little bit of love for me? Not the responsibility to the King Insect, but a mother's love for her daughter."

Her mother looked down at her and said, "Sevier, the biggest difference between you and all the other insectoids is that you are the Queen Insect, while they are the servants."

So, it's all the same.

Her mother, in a calm tone, stabbed her heart with the deepest wound.

For so many years, her mother has never even opened up her own consciousness to her; the mother she knows is only what she sees through her eyes.

She flung her mother's hand away from her forehead and sneered, "You really are a qualified Queen. If I had a little queen worm, I probably couldn't do what you do."

The mother said, "Then you shouldn't become me."

“Sevier, be yourself, don’t be me.”
