Chapter 142: The Player's True Identity Revealed
"Lord Timu, we've arrived!"
As the ship docked, Violet, who had been resting with her eyes closed by the side of the cabin, opened her eyes, stepped out of the room, and looked at Drummer, who was standing at the bow of the ship with a snow-white cloak trailing to the ground.
Vera: "Thank you so much, Lord Timber. I'm riding on your boat again."
"It's nothing," Timo said nonchalantly, but his gaze involuntarily fell on Violet.
Was it just his imagination? He felt that Vera's aura was even stronger than usual.
Why didn't your crew members come with you?
“They…” Vera said, “have other important things to do.”
"Heh." Ever since realizing that Governor Kaido was planning to promote Vil to the Flying Child, Taki hadn't been very friendly towards her. "What is it? Is it more important than Governor Kaido's orders?"
Ugh, it's so sour.
Vera looked at Timber with a grin: "Are you worried that I'll become the Child of the Sky, Timber?"
"What? I didn't..."
“Ah, you don’t need to worry about that,” Vera said confidently. “I definitely will not become a Child of the Sky.”
Seeing Vera's confident expression, Timo suddenly felt a bad premonition that he couldn't quite put his finger on.
Meanwhile, Violet, who was being seriously scrutinized by him, looked up at the thick clouds gathering above Ghost Island.
"It's getting windy."
Violet: "Let's hurry up and get going."
When Violet and Timo entered the main castle of Oni Island, Kurozumi Orochi had already started a banquet with his men serving fine wine.
Despite being threatened by Violet in the middle of the night, Orochi still didn't realize he was in trouble. He sat in the main seat, enjoying the clear, strong liquor that Sakura had brought him, drinking it in large gulps.
Violet glanced around discreetly, confirming the location of the geishas.
It seems her threats last night did have some effect; at least the number of geisha was much smaller than what Dr. Ziyang had found out. Apart from Sakura, whom Violet recognized, and Dr. Ziyang, there were only two unfamiliar geisha still performing shamisen and fan dance.
If there are only four people, Violet is confident she can protect them if things get chaotic.
Kikunojo originally planned to continue disguising himself as Sakura and infiltrating Onigashima, but Sakura refused. Kikunojo and his team's task was to overthrow as many of Orochi's subordinates as possible within a limited timeframe. The mission was incredibly difficult, and everyone who could help was extremely important.
Of course, the battle on Onigashima is equally challenging.
Violet, along with Yamato who had quietly infiltrated the island, were tasked with stalling the forces left behind on Onigashima who had noticed something amiss, in order to give Kikunojo and the others more time to act.
Hmm, hopefully there won't be too many main forces remaining in Wano Country.
In the rare moment of calm before the storm, Vera sipped freshly squeezed juice from an unknown fruit.
Time passed slowly until Vera keenly noticed a discordant metallic clanging sound amidst the decadent music of the banquet.
Foz-Fur, who was closest to Violet, frowned and turned to look at the doorway: "What happened..."
He couldn't finish his sentence because a cold, long sword was pressed against his throat.
"ah……"
The two geishas, who were still playing, gasped softly, then immediately covered their mouths and bent over to hide to the side.
Seeing the two's skillful movements, Vera nodded in satisfaction. "Very good, they're both smart people."
“Vilson…”
Foz clenched his fist, crushing the wine glass in his hand into pieces: "What are you doing?"
“Well,” Violet sighed, raising her hand to remove her glasses, “actually, my real name is…”
Looking at that incredibly familiar face, Timo couldn't believe his eyes and called out Violet's name: "Violet, the Shadow of the Demon!"
Vera looked at the thin-rimmed glasses that she had just taken off with a puzzled expression.
Does she look really that different when she wears glasses?
"Warlord of the Sea, Violet." Who's-Who, with a shadow sword pressed against his neck, called out Violet's name. "You came to Onigashima concealing your identity, intending to become enemies with the Beasts Pirates?"
"Of course not. I've found that many people have a misunderstanding about me. Actually, I'm a very, very peace-loving person and I don't like to be enemies with anyone."
"So if you'd still like to be my friend after today, I'd be very happy, Foz F. "
"You're dreaming!"
Violet raised an eyebrow: "Is that so? Then it's not that I'm going to be your enemy, but that your Beast Pirates... are going to be my enemy."
In all honesty, Violet genuinely wanted to make peace with them.
Even someone as ruthless as former World Government agent F.F. was stunned by Val's bizarre logic.
What do you mean they, the Beasts Pirates, are enemies of Violet? So all the blame lies with them?
Kurozumi Orochi roared, "Stop chatting! Catch her now!"
Foz and Taki exchanged a glance. As Jin had instructed before leaving, they needed to contact each other immediately via Den Den Mushi if anything unusual happened.
To ensure the authenticity of this trap, the two top commanders and Governor Kaido have indeed left Onigashima to inspect their territory in a distant place. However, as flying units with high-speed movement capabilities, King and Kaido can abandon their fleet and rush back to Onigashima as quickly as possible after the incident.
As for what to do with the abandoned fleet, isn't Quinn still there?
However... both Timber and Foz Fur were dissatisfied with Jhin and Queen, the two top leaders, and harbored ambitions to overthrow them and take their place.
If King can return in time and successfully capture the traitor Violet, it will undoubtedly elevate King's standing in Kaido's eyes.
In modern times, if Violet had been captured by them, Governor Kaido would have looked at them with even greater respect... Thinking of this, the two of them tacitly refrained from moving the Den Den Mushi that should have been used to make the call at that moment.
Even the Seven Warlords of the Sea would not be able to escape from here smoothly when facing the attacks of two Flying Sons and countless True Fighters and Waiters.
Noticing the eager and combative looks in their eyes, Violet smiled with satisfaction.
“Not bad.” Violet put her glasses back into her backpack. “It’s been a long time since I’ve really stretched my legs.”
Let her see the results of her training with Lockes over this period of time.
After speaking, Violet withdrew her Shadow Sword and slashed it down on one side of the main castle. The powerful sword energy shattered the wall and ceiling there, and countless fragments of stone fell down, blocking both the pirates who came to provide support and the escape route within the banquet.
Kurozumi Orochi screamed and roared for the samurai and pirates to protect him.
Upon witnessing Violet effortlessly unleash a sword aura no less powerful than that of a master swordsman, both Timber and Foz Fur's pupils constricted sharply.
Wait a minute, this strength is much greater than what Jack said!
If Violet hadn't intentionally concealed her strength during her battles with Doflamingo and Jack, it would mean that her strength had increased to a new level in such a short time.
What an appalling rate of growth!
Timber and Foz were secretly alarmed, and both of them simultaneously unleashed their strongest human-beast forms.
The saber-toothed tiger form of Who's Foz and the triceratops form of Drawwood quickly occupied most of the room, and the two immediately wrapped their bodies in Armament Haki.
"Roar!" Foz-Fur roared, "You arrogant brat, you'll stay here today!"
"With you dead, the vacant Shichibukai position is perfect for Hanafuda!"
——
"Why are there so many pirates?!"
"Kikunojo is right, this is a trap!"
"Retreat! Retreat!"
Outside Oni Island, a group of samurai who had stormed the island directly confronted Hanafuda and Jack, who had been waiting for them.
Faced with the combined attack of the two, the samurai retreated in defeat, their faces showing despair.
Just as they gritted their teeth and prepared to fight to the death, a figure suddenly appeared and blocked their way.
It was a girl wearing a sleeveless kimono, with hair that gradually turned from blue to white. She stood with her back to them, blocking Jack and Hanafuda. The samurai could not see her face clearly, but could only see the curved horns growing from the top of her head and the black spiked club at her side.
Hanafuda and Jack stopped in their tracks, watching the girl who had suddenly barged into the battle with wary eyes, until she raised her hand and removed the hideous Hannya mask from her face. The familiar face startled both of them.
Jack: "Young Master Yamato?!"
Hanafuda frowned. He had a good personal relationship with Kaido and also had a son and a daughter. When drinking with Kaido, Kaido would occasionally complain to him about the education of his offspring.
A couple of days ago, while drinking, Kaido, unusually, didn't wreak havoc and wail at the same time. Instead, he patted his shoulder and earnestly said that his stupid son had finally made progress, and told Hanafuda that when he saw Yamato again, he would be surprised by her strength.
"...It is indeed quite surprising."
Hanafuda never imagined that one day she would see such a young master Yamato, confident, free-spirited, and determined, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. The tangible and intangible things that once bound her had disappeared, allowing her to grow freely and unrestrainedly, bathed in the sea breeze.
Hanafuda's gaze swept over Yamato's empty wrist, where the sea stone handcuffs that had been there were no longer there: "Young Master Yamato."
"Ah, Hanafuda-san," Yamato greeted the two of them. "Long time no see!"
A bead of cold sweat appeared on Jack's forehead and then slowly slid down his cheek.
Is this the time to say hello? And what is Master Yamato trying to do by showing up here at this moment and blocking their way?!
Yamato turned his head slightly and glanced at the bewildered samurai behind him out of the corner of his eye.
"I didn't expect it would be the two of you who were in charge of capturing these samurai." Yamato laughed and raised his spiked club at the two of them. In an instant, a powerful wave of Conqueror's Haki swept towards Hanafuda and the others.
Hanafuda and Jack were startled. Although Yamato's Conqueror's Haki was far from comparable to Kaido's, it was enough to show her hostile stance and determination not to back down.
Hanafuda noticed that the samurai who had realized her current position from Yamato's words were wise enough to begin retreating while remaining vigilant.
“Useless young master Yamato.” Hanafuda shook his head. “Even if you can stop us, you can’t possibly… block the other backup plans that Kaido and King left on Onigashima.”
There's no need to elaborate on the rest of the story, because a sharp sword aura that tore through the main fortress told them in the most straightforward way that what they thought were backup plans had been entangled by something even more troublesome.
Yamato looked up at the enormous, undeniable tear in the side of the main castle: "So Violet is this strong?"
Violet, who has been hiding her identity all along, has never had the chance to unleash her full power. Today is probably the first time since Violet came to Wano Country that she can freely show her true strength without worrying about her identity being exposed.
Yamato gripped the spiked club tightly, feeling the boiling blood within him stirred by Violet's sword energy.
"I...can't lose either."
