Chapter 82: Wide Entry and Narrow Exit is a Scam
Su Cheng lowered her eyes and noticed the marks on Aunt Liu's fingertips from being pricked by the needle. Her heart trembled slightly. "Don't worry, aunts. I will definitely give you an explanation on this matter."
"Well, what do you want to tell me?" Aunt Liu held her hand tightly, her eyes concerned. "Child, that man can control all the shops in this town. We can't afford to offend him. Be obedient and don't go to see him."
"Ah Cheng, if you go, wouldn't that be like a little lamb falling into the tiger's mouth?"
"We don't know what he wants from Ah Cheng, so how can we let Ah Cheng take this risk?"
"Ah Cheng, just listen to Aunt Liu. We won't go over and provoke him!"
Su Cheng's face was calm, but when he met the aunts' concerned eyes, his heart was inevitably touched. "This matter started because of me. The aunts have worked so hard for so many days, I will not let these achievements go to waste."
Aunt Liu shook her head, her face full of disapproval, "Ah Cheng, listen to what I say..."
"Aunt, I will definitely be able to get out of this unscathed." Su Chenghui held her hand, his tone firm, as if he was confident. "Give me all the handkerchiefs you have, and I will sell them for you, aunts."
"This..." Aunt Liu looked hesitant, not knowing what to do.
"Trust me, aunt." Su Cheng's eyes were bright and he looked very confident.
"...Okay." Aunt Liu knew Su Cheng's stubborn nature, so she could only offer her all the handkerchiefs embroidered by the women in the village. "Ah Cheng, you must promise me that if you want to go, you must bring Ah Ming with you."
Su Cheng took the handkerchief, smiled and nodded, "Don't worry, auntie."

Zhendong Pawn Shop
In the elegant room on the second floor, there are bright windows and clean desks. Landscape paintings are hung on the walls on both sides, and calming incense is lit in the stove. A man sits cross-legged in front of a small table, holding a chess piece and playing against himself.
"Master Zhao, Su Cheng is here." Shao Dong knocked on the door outside and conveyed the message in a low voice.
Zhao Hu didn't move. Hearing this, he just raised the corner of his lip slightly, and put all his attention on the chessboard. "Let her come over."
"Madam, please come upstairs."
Su Cheng lifted her skirt lightly, took light steps, and went straight up to the second floor from the stairs on the left.
Xie Ming followed behind her, following in her footsteps, in silence. The red tasseled spear was too conspicuous, so he hid a short knife in his narrow sleeves.
As soon as he reached the second floor, Xie Ming saw an arm across his body. He looked up and met Shao Dong's smiling eyes.
"Lord Zhao only wants to see the young lady. Please trouble you to wait here." Shao Dong stopped him. Although he was smiling, the words he said did not allow him to refuse at all.
Xie Ming raised his eyebrows slightly, a murderous look flashed in his dark eyes, and a cold smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, "What if I refuse?"
"A Ming." Su Cheng pulled his arm and winked at him, "Wait for me here."
Xie Ming frowned and looked at her reluctantly.
The private room where Zhao Hu was staying was a hundred steps away from the stairs. If that guy did something naughty, Shao Dong was guarding outside, and he was afraid that he would not be able to arrive in time.
"Trust me."
Just two words wiped out all of Xie Ming's temper.
"...Okay." Xie Ming sighed softly, his eyes fixed on her slender figure, a flash of worry in his eyes.
Shao Dong looked at Xie Ming, then glanced at Su Cheng who was walking away, and curled his lips slightly.
It's really rude of the uncle and sister-in-law to behave like this.
Pushing open the door of the last room, Su Cheng looked up and her sight fell on the man behind the beaded curtain. A polite and distant smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, "My humble servant greets Master Zhao."
Zhao Hu put down the black chess piece in his hand, shifted his gaze from the chessboard to the woman, and said with a smile, "Su? What a rare guest! I haven't seen you for a few days, and you look even more elegant."
He really meant what he said.
Somehow, he always felt that Su Cheng was much prettier than when they first met, and her complexion was getting better and better.
"Your Excellency is so kind." Su Cheng closed the door and walked to the table, calm and composed. "How can you say I'm a rare guest? Isn't it thanks to your Excellency that I'm here today?"
Zhao Hu seemed to have not expected her to be so straightforward. Surprise flashed in his eyes, and then he smiled and said, "You are a busy person. Since you haven't come for a long time, I naturally have to find a way to see you."
"My lord, you insist on recognizing me. What exactly do you want?" Su Cheng's eyes were straightforward, and he spoke slowly and steadily. "Although I come from the countryside, I have heard stories of wealthy families. With few descendants, the royal family should be given priority. After all, we are of the same bloodline and share the same blood. Regardless of whether I am the daughter of the concubine or not, the inheritance of the family business should not fall on me."
"I've given you my reasons. Bringing you back to the Zhao family isn't about claiming you're my eldest brother's daughter and telling everyone else that she's my biological daughter who's been living away from home." Zhao Hu poured her a cup of tea. His tone was calm, not seeming to have any airs. "I admit you're right. If it were someone else's family, adopting a member of the royal family would be the best option. But the Zhao family members are all wolves and tigers. I don't trust them."
"If you can help me, I can fulfill any request."
He couldn't trust his own relatives, but he could trust Su Cheng, an outsider.
Su Cheng lowered his eyes and his gaze fell on the chessboard. The black and white chess pieces were checking and balancing each other, and at first glance it looked like they were in a deadlock.
"In my opinion, wide entry and narrow exit are all scams."
She picked up a white piece with her bare hands and gently dropped it, instantly breaking the deadlock.
Zhao Hu raised his head suddenly, shock flashing in his eyes, as if he had not expected that a country woman could actually break his plan, "You..."
"Master Zhao, as the saying goes, the barefoot are not afraid of those who wear shoes. I come from a humble background and am like an ant in your eyes. But if you push me hard enough, I can do anything cruel." Su Cheng was calm and composed, his movements graceful and unfazed by his power. "If you have any other tricks, feel free to use them. But if you attack Xinghua Village again, I will be merciless."
Zhao Hu couldn't believe his ears. His eyes fell on her and he murmured, "How dare you talk to me like that?"
"Of course someone gave me the confidence." Su Cheng raised her lips and smiled calmly, "I'll take my leave."
"Don't you want to know the origin of your uncle who is the third in line?"
Su Cheng paused, slowly turned around, and met his gaze.
Zhao Hu curled his lips, his face showing a determined look, "Su Cheng, I admit that you are a little clever, but you also have to understand that if you have power, there will be no secrets in this world that you don't know."
"I don't want to know."
Her words stunned Zhao Hu, and he raised his eyebrows in disbelief, "Su Cheng! You..."
"If my uncle is willing to investigate my past, he will definitely find out. Sir Zhao, don't bother with that." Su Cheng's face was calm, his eyes like a clear spring without ripples. "If my uncle were here, he wouldn't agree to me selling myself to Sir Zhao in exchange for information about him."
To put it simply, if that madman Xie Jinyu was really here and knew that Zhao Hu was using him to threaten him, he would have drawn his knife long ago.
