Chapter 329 Su Manyun’s Conditions

"So now it's a race against time."

Shi Heng stood up and said, "She would do anything to win the family fortune for Shi Jue."

He bent down and picked up Gu Youran horizontally. "Go and rest first. Your body can't handle staying up all night."

At nine o'clock the next morning, in the office of the president of Shi Group.

Shi Heng was worried about leaving Gu Youran home alone, so he brought her to the company.

Gu Youran nestled obediently on the leather sofa, carefully studying the script of "Between the Strings" and marking it with a highlighter from time to time.

At the desk, Shi Heng was reviewing documents.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," he said without looking up.

Assistant Qin pushed the door open and walked in. "Mr. Shi, Ms. Su Manyun is waiting for you in the reception room. She said she has something important to tell you."

Shi Heng paused for a moment with the pen in his hand, "Let her in."

Five minutes later, the office door opened again.

Su Manyun walked in gracefully wearing high heels, and her Chanel suit made her look particularly exquisite.

Her eyes first fell on Gu Youran.

"Mrs. Shi is so virtuous," Su Manyun's voice was deliberately sweet. "She comes to work with her husband so early in the morning. She's really the envy of others."

Gu Youran calmly closed the script and replied with a gentle smile, "Ms. Su, you're too polite. This is how it should be between husband and wife."

She deliberately emphasized the word "husband and wife" and rubbed the wedding ring on her ring finger.

The smile on Su Manyun's face froze for half a second.

Then she turned to Shi Heng, took out a gold-stamped envelope from her Hermès bag, and pushed it across the table.

"I suppose you've been looking for this?"

Shi Heng's movements in picking up the envelope seemed steady.

But Gu Youran noticed that his knuckles were slightly white.

In the envelope was a visiting card with a black background and gold patterns. In the center was a golden eagle with its wings spread out, ready to fly, and in the lower right corner were the three words "Gujia Village" inlaid with gold thread.

The flying eagle pattern was almost identical to the tattoo on Gu You's back.

The only difference is that the tattoo is in ink, while the flying eagle is made of gold foil.

Gu Youran stood up involuntarily, staring at the visiting card.

"Tell me your conditions." Shi Heng's voice remained steady.

“It’s very simple.”

Su Manyun sat down elegantly across from him, legs crossed. "Shi Jue will join the group next week and wants the position of general manager of the new energy branch."

Shi Heng's eyes narrowed. "Impossible. New energy is the group's core strategic project for the next five years."

He paused for a moment and said, "At most, I'll give you a department director."

Su Manyun chuckled, leaned lazily against the back of the chair, and took out an old cowhide notebook from her bag.

"What if we add Mr. Shi's diary?"

Shi Heng's eyes were fixed on the notebook that looked very old.

Silence for three seconds.

Suddenly, he pressed the intercom: "Assistant Qin, prepare the appointment documents for the general manager of the new energy branch, Shi Jue."

Ten minutes later.

Assistant Qin walked quickly into the office with the official appointment letter.

Su Manyun carefully checked the contents of the document and placed the diary on her desk only after confirming that the position, authority and salary terms in the appointment letter were correct.

"Thank you, Mr. Shi."

As she stood up, she gave Gu Youran a meaningful look, then turned and left.

The office door closed.

Assistant Qin, who had been standing nearby, finally couldn't help but speak.

"Boss Shi, hasn't the position of General Manager of the New Energy Branch already been assigned to Mr. Qi Mo, who was hired from overseas at a high salary?"

"He holds a PhD in energy engineering from a top international university and previously served as technical director at a leading global new energy vehicle company..."

Shi Heng locked the diary in his desk drawer, his expression unchanged, "Ask Qi Mo to come over now."

Twenty minutes later.

A young man in a dark blue tailored suit knocked on the door and entered.

He was in his early thirties, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and his every move exuded an elite temperament.

"Mr. Shi."

Qi Mo bowed slightly, and a hint of surprise flashed across his eyes when he saw Gu Youran, but he quickly regained his composure.

Shi Heng gestured for him to sit down. "The situation has changed. The group has decided to appoint Shi Jue as the general manager of the new energy company. I hope you can serve as deputy general manager, but the actual management authority will remain unchanged."

Then, a new compensation plan was proposed, saying, "In addition, you will receive an additional 2% dry stock and a 15% dividend on the project's profits."

Shi Heng added: "You can report directly to me without going through Shi Jue."

Qi Mo closed the document and suddenly revealed a shy smile that was somewhat inconsistent with his elite image.

"I can accept this arrangement. But..."

He touched his nose a little awkwardly and said, "I have a personal request."

The air in the office seemed to freeze for a moment.

"Tonight is my wife's birthday," Qi Mo's voice softened. "She's a big fan of Lenna. If Mrs. Shi could do me the honor of coming..."

"no."

Shi Heng's voice instantly turned several degrees colder, and his fingers tapped out a warning rhythm on the desk.

Gu Youran had already put down the script and walked over.

She gently placed her hand on Shi Heng's tense arm and said, "I'll go."

Turning to Qi Mo, he explained, "Dr. Qi is an expert specially hired from overseas by President Shi. This is just a small matter and nothing to worry about."

Qi Mo immediately stood up, his eyes gleaming with surprise, "Thank you so much!"

He hesitated for a moment, "Could you please sing 'Seventh Night'? I successfully proposed to you last year during the ending of this song..."

His voice softened. "My wife said that was the most embarrassing moment she had ever cried in her life, but also the happiest moment."
