Chapter 97 The Cleaning Black Bear
What does "piece together" mean?
Everything happened in the girl's consciousness; in reality, her eyes were tightly closed.
The water flow, centered on Pingyu, slowly created a whirlpool. Lu Ya Dao Ren straightened up on the cushion made of withered grass, lifting his eyelids slightly to look directly at it.
All people are born with five elements in their destiny. The more balanced the five elements are, the lower one's natural talent; conversely, those with imbalances are considered geniuses. The innate five elements in one's destiny lay the foundation for a cultivator's future spiritual attributes. For example, Ping Yu's meditative state resonated with the water element in the air, causing the lake water to react.
The Taoist noticed that the girl's brows furrowed, though he didn't know what she had heard.
Dusk deepened visibly, the sun setting in the west. The gloomy air stretched out in wisps, dancing wildly in the distance like countless insects in the rainy season. Lu Ya stretched out his hand, his slender fingers pointing towards the girl in the lake.
The surrounding vegetation suddenly swayed, and spiritual pressure crashed down on Ping Yu like a giant cauldron. However, the Taoist's spiritual energy avoided the meditating girl, only cutting off the yin energy beside her that was used for support. At this moment, Ping Yu opened her eyes like a puppet that had just been activated.
She opened her mouth: "Master!"
Lu Ya: "Hey!"
The Taoist priest was secretly pleased, feeling as if his status had suddenly been elevated. But then the girl crawled out, soaking wet, and grabbed his sleeve with her dripping hands, saying, "There's something in the water."
Lu Ya: ...
What? So you're just giving me something to do!
I thought she was trying to sweet-talk me and ask for praise, but she's not cute at all!
He snorted and pulled his sleeve from the girl's hand. Ping Yu had thought he would go into the lake to retrieve her, but unexpectedly, Lu Ya reached out and lifted her up. The Taoist priest, with his delicate fingers raised as if afraid of getting his hands dirty, said, "That's all for today, let's go back!"
"Huh?" Pingyu blinked: "Oh...no, that's not right!"
She reacted and flailed around a couple of times: "Where to?"
"go home."
.
When Lu Ya left home, he mentioned outside the Lin Mansion that he had an old house on the south side of the stone bridge.
Are we going there?
Ping Yu thought to herself that this mountain peak was deserted and didn't seem like a suitable place to build a residence. Thinking that her opponent was going to use the Rainbow Escape technique, Ping Yu felt extremely threatened. She prepared herself for motion sickness, but Lu Ya simply leaped lightly.
The stench was a mixture of decay, rot, and excrement, making the girl's tongue taste bitter. Her deep breath had allowed the foul odor to seep into Pingyu's lungs, and she couldn't help but vomit a rainbow-colored vomit.
Lu Ya moved aside and made a sarcastic remark: "You'll still have to live here from now on, so you'll have to clean yourself up after you throw up!"
Pingyu hadn't eaten much that day, and even after vomiting until her stomach cramped, she couldn't vomit anything substantial. She spat out the acid and took out a water pouch from her storage bracelet to rinse her mouth.
Once he recovered, Pingyu dared not breathe heavily anymore. The girl, still shaken, clutched her stomach: "What stinks like that? Master, has this house been neglected for a long time?"
“It’s not the old house,” Lu Ya grinned. “I found you a new home. See for yourself.”
Pingyu's ominous premonition reached its peak at this moment. She looked up at what was in front of her:
It looked like excrement, and Pingyu dared not think about it further.
The stench wasn't just coming from the entrance; it was mostly emanating from inside the cave. Ping Yu frowned, stepped back, and said, "What kind of new home is this?"
There are rules for living in a cave, and it shouldn't be this filthy. The Taoist shrugged: "When Heaven sends someone to you, you must first eat two bowls of rice, and endure hardship even if it's not necessary."
This poem is not like that at all!
As Ping Yu's speechless and disgusted expression was evident, a sound emanated from the deep cave. It was heavy footsteps, followed by a rough growl, approaching from afar.
Ping Yu, disregarding his anger towards the Taoist, quickly hid behind him. In those few steps, the sound reached the outside of the cave.
At the same time, the sky above them seemed to darken. The girl hiding behind Lu Ya Daoist observed the enormous shadow pressing down between her and her master. Something was wrong with the shadow; its ears were on top of its head. Ping Yu looked up and saw a huge black bear suddenly emerge from the cave. Her pupils dilated in shock, and she clung tightly to the Daoist's clothes: "Master..."
The disciple, who had previously acted like a little adult, showed a look of fear. Considering that the other was a child who had only left home today, Lu Ya felt a pang of pity. He unconsciously softened his voice: "What's wrong? Master is here."
“Didn’t you say this was the new home you found for us?” Pingyu retorted, “But the homeowner is still here!”
Although the mountain was barren, it was vast. Among so many caves, Ping Yu didn't know whether Lu Ya had done it on purpose or was just unlucky to have chosen one inhabited by bears.
The Taoist grinned and said, "You just wait."
Pingyu's hand was ripped off, and the Taoist priest took two steps forward. She watched as the thin old man stopped just half a foot away from the black bear. He clenched his fist and slammed it into the bear's belly!
The seemingly effortless punch knocked the bear down instantly. If Ping Yu hadn't actually seen a fist mark on its belly, she would have thought the bear was faking the fight.
After knocking the bear down, the old man stood on its back and said triumphantly, "That works!"
"Are you sure it's alright?" With Lu Ya suppressing the black bear, Ping Yu felt a bit bolder. She moved forward a little and took out a candlestick from her storage bracelet. The candle was still lit, and to prevent other wild animals from living inside, Ping Yu only circled the shallow part of the cave.
The cave Lu Ya found was secluded in the mountains and forests, geographically quite good. However, the firelight revealed the scene inside, and the stench emanated from the piles of excrement and animal carcasses within. She quickly retreated and asked, "Is this the only one?"
Lu Ya: "Not satisfied?"
“No…” Pingyu explained, “It’s too dirty. It’s fine as a temporary place to stay, but it will take a while to clean it up.”
"so."
Lu Ya seemed lost in thought, his gaze falling on the black bear at his feet. Most of the animals in these mountains were quite intelligent; the bear, feigning death, had a bead of cold sweat trickling down its forehead.
Five minutes later, Pingyu witnessed the most unbearable sight of his life: the bear was standing on its hind legs, using its paws to hold a broom and clean the ground.
Lu Ya used magic to roughly clean up inside, then beckoned to Ping Yu: "I'm exhausted! Bring out all the good wine and meat, quick, quick, quick!"
Pingyu, in a daze, did as she was told, taking a prayer mat and sitting down. Her gaze, from left to right, fell upon her master, who was already feasting; the still somewhat messy cave; and the cleaning bear, weeping as he swept the floor at the entrance…
Is everything really okay?
The girl propped her chin on her hand, feeling somewhat worried about her future.
