Chapter 66 I beg the immortals for mercy, to let me go and accompany them...

The hand of the immortal Taiyi trembled as he poured the tea, and he looked up at the outside of the cave.

Jinxia Tongzi, who was waiting nearby, said, "Master, it seems to be my senior brother."

Nezha rarely acts so loudly.

The master calculated with his fingers and sighed, "Go and welcome him in."

Jin Xia opened the door as ordered, and saw a fiery red figure rush in. Returning to the mountain?

The Wind and Fire Wheels raced through the wind and thunder, as fast as lightning, without daring to delay for even a moment.

Although their magical power was inferior to Shi Ji's, their speed was sufficient. Using the time the Hun Tian Ling (a magical ribbon) bought them, they managed to create some distance between themselves and Shi Ji.

Fortunately, the two entered the cave first, and as soon as the cave door closed, Shi Ji caught up with them.

"Li family brat, come out at once!"

The female demon was shouting outside, and the immortal's right eye twitched as he asked, "Nezha, what's wrong now?"

"Master," Nezha bowed and reported truthfully, "When I used the Qiankun Bow to intimidate that old mudfish at Baode Gate, the Zhentian Arrow disappeared after it left the bowstring. When I returned to the Li residence, Li Jing said that my arrow had killed Biyun, a disciple of Shiji in Baigu Cave. Using this as an excuse, she kidnapped Li Jing and Pingyu. When I went to rescue them, I accidentally killed another of her disciples in my haste."

Ping Yu thought to himself, "It wasn't carelessness."

Shi Ji was a prominent figure in the Jie Sect, and Taiyi was acquainted with her. According to the True Man, he only knew Shi Ji as having two disciples at most.

One is a blue cloud, the other a colorful cloud.

They were all killed in one fell swoop. No wonder Shi Ji was so angry!

"you...."

Taiyi hesitated, then slammed his teacup down: "You wretched child, why don't you take your people to the back peach garden and hide there! Let me go and check on you first."

Upon hearing this, Nezha smiled.

He obediently agreed, took the girl's hand, and led her into the peach orchard behind them.

"Is this alright?"

Pingyu was not entirely at ease and kept looking back.

"It's nothing," Nezha said, behaving more like a child than ever before while in the Golden Light Cave.

He affirmed, "Master has a sharp tongue but a soft heart; he will help us solve this!"

The farther away from the cave, the more hearty the smile on Nezha's face became.

Nezha had witnessed Li Jing's impulsive departure from the White Bone Cave. Since it was his own fault, he hadn't said anything at the time. But seeing his father leave without looking back, the last embers of "family affection" in Nezha's heart were completely extinguished. If it had been Jinzha or Muzha, would Li Jing have stopped? He felt a pang of disappointment, but wasn't sure how to describe it.

He had a good relationship with his brothers, except that Jinzha and Muzha could visit each other's caves during their daily cultivation.

If it weren't for his mother, he wouldn't have had any intention of going home.

This faint sense of attachment bound Nezha's legs.

This prevented him from completely escaping the Li family mansion.

The boy thought for a moment, then looked at Pingyu beside him.

He stopped and opened his hands to the other person.

"Um?"

Amid the girl's confused sniffling, Nezha laughed and said, "Where's the fruit? Wasn't it supposed to be for me?"

"oh oh!"

The escape had made Pingyu almost forget about the incident. She held the peach tightly in her hand the whole time, and because the situation was so urgent, some parts of it were squeezed inwards. The skin was cracked, and juice and flesh were seeping out, making the peach look a bit messy.

She had originally thought the fruit would be sweet, and she would share it with Nezha when he came. But looking at its current appearance, it was truly inedible. The girl pulled her hand back a little, somewhat embarrassed: "It's all ruined, so forget it...!!"

Before Pingyu could finish speaking, Nezha took a bite from her hand. The fruit was ripe and sweet, its sweetness spreading from the tip of his tongue to his heart.

The kidnapped father, upon learning that he was innocent, could turn around and abandon his son without hesitation.

Even when a friend suffers an undeserved misfortune, and is in danger, someone still remembers to bring him sweet peaches.

Comparing the two, there is now another reason why Nezha is staying in Chentang Pass.

He would be willing to stay for Pingyu's sake.

For some reason, Nezha became happier and happier as he ate. Pingyu, who was completely unaware of his inner thoughts, asked suspiciously: Is it really that delicious?

My hands were covered in sweet, sticky liquid.

"Have you finished eating?" Pingyu hated the sticky feeling and asked, "I want to wash my hands."

"Um."

The boy led her to the central pool.

The peach orchard behind the Golden Light Cave flourishes with spiritual peaches nurtured by the essence of heaven and earth, regardless of the season. Even the pond is a vibrant emerald green, teeming with lotus leaves and blossoms. Seeing the lotuses reminded Pingyu of Ao Guang's affair, making her uneasy, her temples throbbing. She hastily splashed some water into her palm and asked Nezha, "It's already autumn, how come the lotuses in this pond are still blooming so beautifully?"

“This is the Five Lotus Pond.” He casually picked a lotus seedpod and carefully peeled it. “My master has nurtured it like his own flesh and blood, feeding it spiritual energy day and night. If it still doesn’t grow well after all this, then there would be no justice.”

After saying that, he peeled out some lotus seeds and handed them over, saying, "Please."

Pingyu held the lotus seeds, only to find them burning hot.

She knew that the lotus and lotus roots in Taiyi Pond would one day become Nezha's body, and digging out lotus seeds from here was like eating his flesh and blood. She didn't say it outright, but instead made an excuse that she had just eaten and her stomach was still full. Before Nezha could change his expression, Pingyu changed the subject: "By the way, why did you come with Uncle Li? Did he come here to look for you?"

“I arrived at the Li residence one after the other,” Nezha replied. “My mother said you were captured. Even if he hadn’t come, I would have gone to Skull Mountain to find you.”

Li Jing no longer needed to put on that escorting prisoner act, he thought to himself.

"What about the matter of the Third Prince of the Dragon Palace?"

Pingyu didn't want to dwell on the past, which she had already escaped danger from. She was more concerned about the unresolved issues at hand, such as the biggest murder case that Nezha was carrying on his shoulders.

“That old scoundrel Ao Guang is no match for a beating; he begged for mercy after only a few blows. He said he was willing to swear an oath at Chen Tang Pass that he would forgive and forget what he did. Look, I've brought him here…?”

Nezha raised his hand, removing the wrist guard to show Pingyu the small green snake on his arm. However, apart from the boy's snow-white skin, Pingyu couldn't see anything there. Nezha's expression changed, and he quickly raised both arms and shook them together!

No, not anywhere.

Ao Guang seemed to have never existed; he vanished into thin air.

Seeing Nezha's serious expression, Pingyu knew that things were getting serious.

She helped shake out Nezha's outer garment and asked, "Did he escape at some point?"

"It must have been at that time!" Nezha gritted his teeth. "When I was busy escaping from Shiji, I didn't have time to pay attention to him. He must have taken advantage of that opportunity and escaped."

"So what do we do now?"

Pingyu had intended for Nezha to play the victim, but she hadn't expected the other party to use violence. The Dragon Clan was vengeful; Nezha had humiliated Ao Guang in countless ways, and now that the other party had found an opportunity, they would surely retaliate in every way. She instinctively grabbed Nezha's hand, gripping it tightly, as if afraid he would leave: "Can you go to the Heavenly Court now?"

“It’s too late,” Nezha shook his head, looking back at the road they came from. “Shiji is still outside. We can’t go out and cause trouble for Master. We can only wait until we return to Chentang Pass to discuss this further.”

He was annoyed that things had gone smoothly until Shi Ji had interfered, leaving him in such a passive position. The boy said resentfully, "Anyway, I can beat him up the first time, and I can also beat him into submission the second time."

......

Within the other person's mind, he knew that Pingyu possessed a passage to another world.

Nezha still couldn't understand why Pingyu knew what he would encounter in the future.

This time, Nezha didn't press the issue. Instead, he asked in an almost gentle tone, "Pingyu, you look terrible. What's wrong?"

My friend's vivid face is still right in front of me.

Pingyu didn't know what to say. She hesitated, uneasy, afraid of revealing something unusual. Her head started to throb again, her reason and emotions clashing. Nezha waited patiently, silently watching her. The girl's cold fingers touched his slightly warm body, the physical sensation emphasizing that her companion was alive.

"I had a nightmare."

She started sweating profusely: "When you knocked me unconscious, I had a nightmare. I dreamt that you met the Third Prince of the Dragon Palace and skinned him alive. Then the Dragon King came to seek revenge and tormented everyone in Chentang Pass."

Sweat dripped down her clothes, making her look like a fish pulled from the water. Nezha finally broke free from the girl's grasp and pulled her trembling body into his arms.

"Dreams are false."

But what Pingyu revealed was true.

He wiped the cold sweat from the girl's face and thought:

What Pingyu said must have been seen in the space behind the door.

Among the most precious treasures of cultivation in this world is one called the "Tui Bei Tu" (Back Pushing Diagram). It records the past and present, and even predicts the future thousands of years from now. He couldn't understand the writing behind that house; perhaps there was something similar to the "Tui Bei Tu" inside.

Nezha was certain that Pingyu had seen it, which is why his reaction was so strange.

If every single human action could be recorded, it would be like living in a storybook.

Nezha was actually a little curious: would there be anything related to the two of them in the future that Pingyu knew?

The girl's sweat was wiped away, and she calmed down as Nezha gently patted her.

Suddenly, a scream came from outside the cave.

"I'll go take a look."

Worried about his master, he tried to rush out on his Wind Fire Wheels. Pingyu grabbed Nezha's clothes, refusing to let go: "Then take me with you."

Her unease grew stronger; she was terrified that Nezha would go off to another place alone again.

.

Outside the cave.

Shi Ji and Taiyi Zhenren couldn't agree on anything and started sparring.

The female demon was a spirit born from a stubborn rock, but her foundation was not deep enough to be a match for Taiyi Zhenren. In a fit of anger, she stepped into a trap and was caught in the opponent's magical artifact.

When Nezha and Ping Yu arrived, they saw the Nine Dragons Divine Fire Cover burning Shi Ji back to her original form.

The scream just now was from Shi Ji, who had just died.

Taiyi Zhenren put away his magical artifacts, leaving only a huge, smoking rock on the ground.

Nezha was relieved and said in a half-coquettish tone, "If Master had given me this cover earlier, I wouldn't have had to trouble you today!"

Pingyu: He wants whatever he sees, but you really did give it to him!

Nezha relies heavily on his master, regarding him as his own father. Taiyi also spoils him, which has shaped Nezha's current personality.

As soon as he finished speaking, his smile vanished, and his expression turned serious. He tossed his hand, and the two afterimages were caught cleanly in the boy's hands.

The Hun Tian Ling and Qian Kun Quan, which had been taken away by Shi Ji, have returned.

While he was fiddling with the magical artifact he had just recovered, Taiyi said, "The Dragon Kings of the Four Seas have already petitioned the Jade Emperor and received his approval. They are leading their dragon soldiers to Chentang Pass to take your parents. Nezha, you should go back quickly!"

Nezha looked at Pingyu and understood the meaning behind her pale face.

This time, it seems unlikely to end well.

The boy knelt down, bowed his head, and asked, "Master, I should bear the consequences of the trouble I caused. I don't want to implicate my parents, much less bring disaster to the people of Chentang Pass. I am foolish and do not know what to do. I beg you, Master, to show me the way!"

Nezha is going back.

Pingyu knew perfectly well what he was about to face, and immediately tried to stop him:

Don't go!

Taiyi glanced at her lightly and flicked his whisk at her.

The girl's lips were sealed shut. She couldn't speak, couldn't make a sound; she was frozen in place. Taiyi Zhenren beckoned to Nezha and whispered in his ear, "Only by doing this and that can the calamity be averted."

She couldn't see Nezha's face clearly, only that his eyelids were drooping.

“Then I will go first.” Nezha, having received a brilliant plan, stepped back. He looked at Pingyu, who had not said a word, and then said to Taiyi, “Please look after Pingyu for me, Master. I will come to pick her up after I have finished dealing with this matter.”

no...

Mouth, speaking.

Pingyu tried desperately to open his mouth but to no avail.

The intense and anxious emotions aroused the dragon scale placed on her heart, causing it to flash with a faint blue light, which actually allowed Ping Yu to briefly break through the shackles of the True Person's spiritual power.

"Nezha!" That was all she could say before being silenced again.

Nezha, who had been called to a halt, paused in his steps.

The emotions in Pingyu's eyes were too complex and too heavy to be summed up in the word "sadness".

"It seems I won't have a good ending," Nezha thought.

He didn't even promise Ping Yu that he would come back.

The boy touched her forehead and said, "When you get back, you have to come to my room to see me."

Only after Nezha transformed into a stream of fire and disappeared from sight was the seal on Pingyu's mouth removed.

She ignored Nezha's words and glared at Taiyi Zhenren: "Why wouldn't you let me speak? You knew all along!"

He already knew Nezha would die, so he sent Nezha alone to wait at Baode Gate. Taiyi Zhenren's promise to cover for him was a veiled hint that Nezha could act recklessly. He knew Nezha's personality meant he would only resort to brutal solutions, and he was condoning, even actively encouraging, this to happen.

The thought of Nezha treating Taiyi Zhenren as his own father but being tricked made Pingyu feel a chill run down his spine.

Taiyi answered frankly: "Nezha is destined to die. If he doesn't die, the great cause of overthrowing King Zhou will be difficult to achieve."

He spoke so coldly, as if he was born merely a tool.

He died for killing people to exorcise demons, and after being resurrected, he wanted to kill even more people.

"Then I'll go."

Once Nezha left, Pingyu regained her freedom of movement. She showed no fear of the immortal, meeting his gaze directly: "I want to go to Chentang Pass. Take me there."

“No,” Taiyi Zhenren refused, “You will disturb his Dao heart.”

"I won't speak," Ping Yu conceded.

Taiyi heard a "thump" and was surprised to find that the girl was kneeling on the ground in front of him.

She didn't want Nezha to face the torrential rain at Chentang Pass alone.

He didn't want him to face the people's grievances and Li Jing's curses alone, or the vicious and arrogant malice of the four dragon kings in the sky.

I certainly don't want Nezha to die a belated death, wrapped in regret, until he cuts off his own flesh.

She pressed her forehead to the ground and pleaded with the high and mighty immortal:

I will not interfere whether he lives or dies.

After saying that, Pingyu slammed his head heavily on the ground again.

"I beg the immortals for mercy and to let me go to Nezha's side!"

Author's Note: I really think the Shi Ji part is a bit outrageous. Shi Ji told Li Jing to leave, and Li Jing actually left, completely ignoring Nezha. And it feels like Nezha's death was entirely a setup, including the Zhen Tian Arrow killing Bi Yun Tong Zi—it really has a sense of destiny. I didn't think much of it before, but now, looking back, it actually sends a chill down my spine.
