"Yes, Madam."
Sitting in the passenger seat was Shao Yongkang’s assistant, as Shao Yongkang couldn’t accompany her to the Qin family today and had sent his assistant instead.
Ten minutes later, the assistant reported the information he had found, "Madam, the car that just entered belongs to Old Mr. Ji."
"Old Mr. Ji?" Old Madam Shao pondered for a moment, suddenly startled, "Ji Yi?!"
Ji Yi, the extraordinary chess grandmaster!
The assistant nodded, "Yes."
How could Old Mr. Ji suddenly come to the Qin family?
She had never heard of any close relationship between Old Mr. Ji and the Qin family before.
Old Madam Shao took out her phone and searched through her contacts, and indeed, she found Ji Yi’s contact information.
Looking at the tightly closed gate of the Bay Villa ahead, Old Madam Shao didn’t hesitate and dialed Old Mr. Ji’s number directly.
The phone rang.
After several tens of seconds, the call automatically disconnected without anyone answering.
Old Madam Shao fiercely slapped the armrest of her seat.
This was infuriating.
Why could Ji Yi enter the Bay Villa while she couldn’t?
Fueled by anger, Old Madam Shao dialed Lan Jin’s number once again.
She couldn’t remember how many times she had called Lan Jin today.
She had even exhausted all her dignity just to enter the Bay Villa, yet Lan Jin still refused to grant her that privilege.
Old Madam Shao mentally prepared herself for the call to be rejected, but to her surprise, someone answered the phone the next second.
"Meifen, why are you calling me again?"
Lan Jin’s impatient voice came through the receiver.
Old Madam Shao’s original name was Cao Meifen, but at this moment, she had no intention of pondering Lan Jin’s impatience.
She simply asked, "Lan Jin, are you at home now? It’s been so long since we last met. Let’s meet up."
"Yes, I am at home, but I’m lazy and don’t want to entertain guests," Lan Jin chuckled.
"You’re not waiting for me at the door, are you? Don’t waste your time, go back home and rest. You’re not young anymore, why be so restless? Stay at home."
The anger in Old Madam Shao’s heart instantly flared up.
Don’t want to entertain guests? Then what about Old Mr. Ji who just entered? Isn’t he a guest?
Old Madam Shao gritted her teeth, "Lan Jin, I can’t figure out what I’ve done to offend you. How did I become so repulsive to you? Now you won’t even see me."
Lan Jin frowned, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
Old Madam Shao sinisterly smiled, "I saw Old Mr. Ji’s car enter your Bay Villa. Didn’t you say you didn’t want to entertain guests? Then why did he go in?"
"Oh, Old Mr. Ji didn’t come to see me, so naturally, I don’t need to entertain him,"
Lan Jin couldn’t be bothered to explain further.
"That’s it, go back home quickly, I won’t see you."
"Hey, you..." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Beep...
Before Old Madam Shao could finish her sentence Lan Jin hung up the phone.
She angrily threw her phone onto the seat, "Damn it!"
The Qin family was becoming more and more unreasonable!
Old Madam Shao clenched her gums, glaring at the tightly closed gate of the Bay Villa.
The Qin family was looking down on people!
They were deliberately opposing the Shao family!
She finally understood that decades of friendship meant nothing.
Without a certain status and position, she couldn’t enter the gate of the Bay Villa.
Old Madam Shao forcefully patted the armrest of her seat and angrily commanded, "Let’s go!"
The driver hesitated, "Madam, are we going back home?"
"Otherwise? Do you dare to barge into the Bay Villa?"
Old Madam Shao scolded impatiently, "Do you have a brain? How can you ask such a stupid question!"
Amidst grumbling and scolding, the Shao family’s car turned around on the spot and no longer lingered at the entrance of the Bay Villa.
Inside the garden of the Bay Villa.
The Qin family’s bodyguard reported to Lan Jin that Old Madam Shao had left.
Lan Jin was still accompanying her precious granddaughter and didn’t want to leave the supposedly "spiritual" flower garden.
Ann comfortably nestled in her grandmother’s arms, with her six brothers beside her.
Hearing the bodyguard’s words, Qin Sui’an curiously raised her little face and asked, "Grandma, why did Old Madam Shao insist on seeing you?"
"Who knows," Lan Jin didn’t want such matters to affect her granddaughter’s mood, "Let’s not talk about her, she has already gone home."
Qin Sui’an did not ask any further, if Grandma didn’t want to talk about it, then she wouldn’t.
However, she had a new question, "Grandma, what about Old Mr. Ji?"
"Oh, he should still be in the living room, apologizing to your grandpa," Lan Jin chuckled at the thought, "When they come looking for us, we can go out then."
This was one of the reasons why Lan Jin wasn’t in a hurry to leave the garden.
They needed some time to resolve the misunderstanding.
Lan Jin was right.
As soon as Old Mr. Ji entered the living room and saw Qin Huo, he began to apologize and explain, "Qin Huo, I wasn’t clear enough on the phone, you misunderstood! What I meant was that I wanted to take your granddaughter as my disciple, nothing else."
Qin Huo sat on the sofa, glanced at him, and snorted, "At your age, you still don’t know how to choose your words!"
"It’s my fault, I didn’t think carefully about my words," Ji Yi relaxed when he saw that Qin Huo wasn’t angry, looked around casually, and said, "Such a big house, and you’re the only one here?"
"Do you think the bodyguards in our house are fake?"
Qin Huo saw through his intention of wanting to see his granddaughter but didn’t mention it proactively.
His granddaughter was his precious treasure! He couldn’t let others easily see her.
Ji Yi’s heart was set on his future disciple and couldn’t wait to see her himself, "Qin Huo, where is your granddaughter?"
Qin Huo leisurely picked up his teacup, took a sip to moisten his throat, and said, "Don’t bother looking, she’s not here."
Disappointed, Ji Yi withdrew his searching gaze and sat on the sofa beside him, asking again, "Did she go out? When will she be back?"
"She didn’t go out," Qin Huo glanced at him, "Why are you in such a hurry? Wanting to take discipline is your business, I won’t interfere. But let me make it clear, my granddaughter may not want to recognize you as her master."
Ji Yi stared for a moment, about to retort, but was stopped by Qin Huo, "Do you think you can take a disciple just because you want to? Hmph, have you ever considered whose family your potential disciple comes from?"
Qin Huo put on an arrogant demeanor.
Ji Yi suppressed his inner dissatisfaction, spoke slowly, and said, "Rest assured, I won’t force it. Taking a disciple and becoming a master, it must be a mutual agreement."
The bodyguard brought in tea and placed it in front of Old Mr. Ji.
Qin Huo raised his hand slightly, "Go ahead, after coming all this way, it’s not easy."
"You’re considerate, still remembering that we are friends," Ji Yi picked up the cup and drank slowly.
After he finished his cup of water, Qin Huo stood up, "Let’s go."
Ji Yi widened his eyes, "You’re kicking me out already? I’m not leaving!"
The sofa hadn’t even warmed up yet!
"You’re not leaving, huh?"
Qin Huo chuckled, "Then I’ll go see my granddaughter by myself."
Old Mr. Ji’s expression changed instantly, he immediately stood up with a smile and politely supported Qin Huo’s arm.
"Let’s go! Qin Huo, watch your step."
