Professor Yuan Bing suddenly remembered that the granddaughter of the old lady and the old gentleman had been missing for several years.
It all makes sense now; she must have recently started gaining weight.
Without revealing her thoughts, she gently glanced at Ann’s face with a soft gaze.
"Ann looks a lot like your mommy. When your mommy was young, she looked just like you."
Upon hearing this, Qin Sui’an immediately asked curiously, "Doctor Grandma, did my mommy also see you for a check-up?"
"Not exactly for a check-up, just a simple examination of her health," Professor Yuan Bing smiled and said, "When your mommy was your age, she was a little plumper than you, so you should continue drinking five bottles of milk every day."
Professor Yuan Bing had been practicing pediatrics for over fifty years and was an outstanding doctor.
She had practically watched the children of the Ye family grow up, including the little girl before her.
When Ann was a few months old, Professor Yuan Bing also conducted a simple physical examination for her.
Qin Sui’an’s bright round eyes lit up, and she nodded vigorously.
"Okay! Ann will do it!"
In a gentle tone, Professor Yuan Bing asked, "Are there any foods that Ann doesn’t like to eat?
As for me, I’m not particularly fond of carrots or vegetables."
Qin Sui’an thought carefully and replied with a serious expression, "Doctor Grandma, we shouldn’t be picky eaters. Ann likes to eat everything."
Seeing her bright and clear eyes, it was evident that she wouldn’t be a picky eater. Professor Yuan Bing was surprised by her response and chuckled.
"All right, from now on, Grandma won’t be picky either. We’ll eat carrots and more vegetables."
Qin Sui’an nodded her little head, satisfied with her answer.
"Yes, that’s how a good Grandma should be!"
During their conversation, Professor Yuan Bing had gained a general understanding of Ann’s daily life.
She turned to Ye Yanzhi and said, "Ann’s family takes good care of her."
Ye Yanzhi pursed his lips, refraining from speaking directly in front of Ann.
In his opinion, if she was well taken care of, there was no way she could have gone out alone.
It was clear that Ann herself was sensible and easy to handle.
Observing Ye Yanzhi’s displeased expression, Professor Yuan Bing understood and smiled, choosing not to mention the Qin family again.
Old Madam Ye came out of the restroom, her emotions much more stable.
She sat beside Ann as if nothing had happened.
Qin Sui’an reached out her little hand and covered Old Madam Ye’s stomach, gently rubbing it.
"Grandma, does your tummy still hurt?"
Old Madam Ye was momentarily stunned, realizing that this was the excuse her husband had come up with for her sudden departure.
She shook her head and held Ann’s small hand.
"It doesn’t hurt anymore, much better now."
"That’s good," Qin Sui’an sighed in relief.
Professor Yuan Bing took out her stethoscope and carefully examined Ann.
After a moment, she smiled and said, "Ann is a very healthy baby."
With these words, both Ye Yanzhi and Old Madam Ye felt completely reassured.
Qin Sui’an was happy and proud, her round eyes curved as she cheerfully patted her little tummy.
"Ann is a healthy baby!"
Professor Yuan Bing didn’t stay for long; after finishing the examination, she left.
After having their fill, Old Madam Ye, Ye Yanzhi, and Qin Sui’an entered the room.
Ye Yanzhi brought three chairs and placed them next to the bed, one for each of them.
After a few minutes, it was time for the routine check-up.
Two doctors and four nurses arrived.
Old Madam Ye lifted Ann and stepped back, making room for them.
Qin Sui’an witnessed this scene for the first time, her round eyes fixed attentively.
When she saw the nurse remove the needle from her mommy’s hand and replace it with a new one, she pursed her lips, unintentionally clenching her grandmother’s arm with both hands.
Old Madam Ye comforted her by patting her body gently and asking in a low voice, "Is Ann scared?"
"No..." She shook her little head and after a while, in a soft voice, Ann said,
"Mommy must be in pain..."
Old Madam Ye heard her and held her breath, suppressing the discomfort in her heart.
"Yes, she must be in pain."
The inspection concluded, and the few individuals bowed slightly to Old Madam Ye and Ye Yanzhi before quietly leaving.
With this interlude, the atmosphere in the room became relatively solemn.
Old Madam Ye did not release her embrace, instead sitting with her on a chair by the bed.
Qin Sui’an reached out her small hand, gripping the other hand of her mommy that was not connected to the IV, without uttering a word, her round eyes fixed intently on her.
Jie Hansi approached the room’s doorway, treading lightly, and cautiously spoke, "Sir..."
Ye Yanzhi had already instructed that his son handle the matters of the corporation, so if Jie Hansi sought him out, it surely wasn’t about the company.
At this moment, apart from corporate affairs, only matters concerning Ann remained.
Ye Yanzhi gestured for Jie Hansi to speak outside with a wave of his hand.
Then, he stood up and said, "Please be seated, let me know if there’s anything."
Old Madam Ye nodded, "Go attend to it."
Ye Yanzhi glanced once at his daughter lying on the sickbed, then at Ann being held in his wife’s arms, before finally leaving the room.
Once outside the ward, Ye Yanzhi walked a few steps away with caution and lowered his voice, "Speak, but keep it low."
Ann had sharp ears, as Professor Yuan Bing had mentioned earlier, so even though they were in the corridor, they still had to speak softly.
Jie Hansi was unaware of the situation and felt puzzled as to why they had to speak softly even in the corridor.
However, he strictly followed Ye Yanzhi’s words and continued in a hushed tone, "Sir, President Qin said that the Young Lady needs to take a nap and wishes to bring her back home. He will visit Lady Chaosi at the hospital later."
"Hmph," Ye Yanzhi sneered, "What? We don’t have a place for Ann to take a nap. Let him take her back. When Ann wants to return to the Bay Villa, we will send her ourselves."
Jie Hansi had already anticipated this response and continued, "President Qin also mentioned that Young Lady’s pet, the big white goose, has specialized feed for its nourishment. The goose must be hungry and needs to return to the Bay Villa to eat. If it falls ill, Young Lady will be saddened."
"He is truly considerate," Ye Yanzhi calmly remarked, "Take the big white goose down and let him bring it back to eat. Then, he can return."
Jie Hansi could fully imagine the expression President Qin would have when he saw the big white goose without seeing Young Lady.
Ye Yanzhi grew impatient, "Is there anything else?"
"No, Sir."
"Very well then."
Ye Yanzhi turned and entered the ward, only to see the big white goose sitting on the sofa like a human.
He paused, opened his mouth as if to say something, but then felt it was childish to converse with a goose, so he remained silent.
The big white goose seemed to sense something and turned its head to look at him, "Ga! I heard your conversation, and I won’t leave Ann’s side! I will only return once Ann has gone back to the Bay Villa!"
Unfortunately, in Ye Yanzhi’s ears, all he heard was honking.
What was this big white goose honking about?
It seemed somewhat excited.
