Old Madam Ye smiled, "Good girl."
She looked at Lucy with a slightly serious expression and instructed, "Be careful on the road, and inform me immediately if anything happens."
"I will, Madam," Lucy nodded in response.
Watching Little One and Lucy leave the ward, Old Madam Ye took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down and not worry excessively.
Lucy, usually brisk in her high heels, now slowed her pace to match Little One’s small steps.
Qin Sui’an’s little hand was only enough to hold onto three of Miss Lucy’s fingers as she walked with small steps.
The elevator stopped on the top floor. Lucy pressed the door open button with her other hand, carefully escorting Young Lady into the elevator.
As the elevator doors closed, Lucy lowered her head slightly, looking at the well-behaved Young Lady beside her and curved her lips, "Young Lady, would you like me to carry you?"
Qin Sui’an shook her head seriously, "No need, thank you, Miss Lucy."
"Alright," Lucy didn’t go against her wishes.
The elevator went directly to the parking lot, and upon exiting, they could see the Ye family’s luxury cars and the four bodyguards arranged by Old Madam Ye.
After Lucy placed Little One in the child safety seat in the back, she carefully fastened her seatbelt.
After taking care of Little One, Lucy circled around, sat in the driver’s seat, and changed into flat shoes suitable for driving.
She didn’t forget to explain to Little One, "Lin, the driver, is a new driver hired this year. Second Young Master doesn’t like to interact with unfamiliar people."
Usually, if Ye Liyuan had time to come home, he would drive himself back and forth, not letting the Ye family’s driver pick him up.
As Lucy had worked at the Ye family for nearly twenty years and had practically watched Ye Liyuan grow up, she received Ye Liyuan’s call asking her to pick him up.
Qin Sui’an listened drowsily, but she understood the latter part of the conversation.
Her Second Uncle didn’t like to interact with unfamiliar people.
Little One pursed her lips lightly. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
She hadn’t met her Second Uncle before... So Ann was also one of the "unfamiliar people".
The luxury car started and drove out of the parking lot first, followed by a black sedan carrying bodyguards.
The journey back and forth wasn’t far, but it still took some time. While waiting at a red light, Lucy took out the pre-prepared baby bottle from the car and handed it to Little One in the back seat.
"Young Lady, would you like some milk?"
Qin Sui’an’s eyes lit up instantly, and she reached out with both hands to take the bottle, "Yes, please."
She happily curved her eyes, "Thank you, Miss Lucy."
"You’re welcome, Young Lady," Lucy smiled.
Qin Sui’an held the bottle and sat quietly in the child seat, drinking her milk leisurely while looking at the scenery outside the window.
Following the location sent by Second Young Master, Lucy arrived at the destination and soon saw a black commercial nanny car parked on the side of the road.
She drove closer.
A tall man wearing a mask and a duckbill cap got out of the driver’s seat of that car and walked towards their car.
Before Lucy could get out to greet him, the man had already opened the passenger door by himself and quickly sat in.
Lucy nodded to him, respectfully addressing him, "Second Young Master."
Even though they were in the car, Ye Liyuan didn’t take off the mask and cap. He lowered the brim of his cap and spoke in a cold tone, "Remember to have that car driven away."
"Okay, Second Young Master." Lucy restarted the engine, turned around, and drove in the direction of the hospital.
Ye Liyuan leaned back, his gaze lowered, his mind still in disarray rather than resting.
He asked, "How’s my mother’s mood lately?"
Lucy smiled and said, "Madam’s condition is improving every day, and her mood is very good."
From her tone, one could tell she was genuinely happy for Madam.
"Is it because of... Ann?" Ye Liyuan asked tentatively, unsure.
In the back seat, Little One, drinking from her bottle, suddenly heard her name and blinked her round eyes.
"Yes," Lucy answered Second Young Master’s question with certainty, "Young Lady gets along very well with Madam."
Ye Liyuan couldn’t help but hold his breath, feeling a moment of confusion. He whispered softly, "Am I dreaming?"
It had been a long time since he heard someone call her "Young Lady".
Ever since his mother fell ill, the Ye family had completely avoided any mention of Little One, and no one dared to bring it up. But today, not only did he hear his brother Ye Rongyuan mention "Ann," but he also heard his mother’s assistant Lucy mention "Young Lady."
Lucy sensed Second Young Master’s emotional fluctuation and immediately said, "Second Young Master, Young Lady returned a while ago. You’re not dreaming."
Ye Liyuan didn’t speak, sinking into a feeling of self-blame. He blamed himself for using filming as an excuse to avoid reality, only to realize now that Ann had come back.
Lucy had to focus on driving while also keeping an eye on Young Lady in the back seat. Now she had one more person to pay attention to.
She was a bit busy, but she still carefully asked, "Second Young Master, are you okay?"
"I’m fine," Ye Liyuan’s voice was very soft. After a moment, he asked again, "I heard from Rongyuan that Ann is at the hospital?"
Lucy glanced at the rearview mirror and replied very cautiously, "Young Lady is not at the hospital."
Ye Liyuan suddenly turned his head to look at her, his brows slightly furrowed as he asked, "Did Ann leave?"
Had he arrived late?
"No, she didn’t," Lucy said, taking advantage of the time waiting at the red light to turn her body to look at Little One in the back seat. "Second Young Master, Young Lady is here."
Even though he was wearing a mask and cap, Ye Liyuan’s sudden confusion was visibly evident.
Ye Liyuan seemed frozen in place, not moving at all, only the trembling fingertips betrayed his unpreparedness.
Qin Sui’an was still holding the bottle, drinking milk, her big round eyes curiously staring in the direction of the passenger seat.
But from Little One’s perspective, all she could see was the back of the person sitting in the passenger seat.
Moreover, it was the back of a person wearing a duckbill cap.
The car suddenly fell into an eerie silence.
As the red light changed, Lucy refocused on driving.
Ye Liyuan suspected Lucy was playing a trick on him because there was clearly no sound from the back seat.
Just a slight turn of his head could confirm it, but his neck felt stiff, as if he couldn’t move.
He lightly parted his lips and tentatively called out, "Ann?"
A muffled response came from the back seat, "Mm?"
As if in slow motion in a movie, Ye Liyuan slowly turned his neck to look at the back seat.
The next second, his pupils collided with a small and adorable figure.
Little One sat in the custom-made child seat, holding the bottle in her arms, and was sipping milk from the nipple.
