"Ou Yangfu?" Old Master Ye seemed to have some impression of this person, as he used to play with his third son frequently. "Oh, the youngest son of Old Mr. Ou."
He and his wife had worried before whether their third son would be led astray, so they had investigated the background of the Ou family. It was indeed a family with some background, and they wouldn’t touch things they shouldn’t.
But this young master of the Ou family was Old Mr. Ou’s late-born son, and he was indeed somewhat spoiled.
Old Madam Ye glanced at her third son and asked, "Why does he suddenly want to buy a painting from Ann?"
"His father is about to turn sixty." Ye Rongyuan typed a reply to Ou Yangfu’s message, so he wouldn’t keep calling, and said, "This kid wants Ann to paint a picture to give as a birthday present for his father’s sixtieth birthday."
It was quite clever.
Qin Sui’an listened attentively, blinking her bright round eyes curiously.
Seeing that she seemed a little confused, Ye Liyuan explained to her in a low voice, "Ann, someone really likes your paintings and wants to buy one from you."
Brief and to the point.
"Oh~~" Qin Sui’an nodded in understanding, her eyes curved with happiness. "Are Ann’s paintings very beautiful?"
Ye Liyuan rubbed her little head and smiled, "Of course, they’re very beautiful."
Old Madam Ye remembered that Lucy had indeed mentioned that the Ou family had sent several banquet invitations.
She thought for a moment. "If I remember correctly, isn’t Old Mr. Ou’s sixtieth birthday the day after tomorrow?"
Ye Rongyuan nodded. "Yes, that’s right, so he’s in a hurry, acting like a lunatic."
As soon as he finished speaking, he received another call from Ou Yangfu.
He rolled his eyes speechlessly, got up, and walked out, answering the phone outside the ward. "Are you out of your mind? Didn’t I say it’s impossible?"
"I want to talk to your niece! I won’t talk to you!"
Ou Yangfu was only nineteen this year, and his voice was clearly that of a teenager. "Don’t you want to help your niece make money? Money really isn’t a problem. Name your price, and I’ll transfer it directly to your niece!"
"You’re seriously ill." Ye Rongyuan glanced at the time on his wristwatch. "Let me make an appointment for you with the neurology department of my hospital. The chief of neurology is still on duty and can help you now."
"I’m serious! I’ve been going crazy thinking about gifts lately! Your niece’s paintings can definitely make my dad feel twenty years younger! He’ll definitely be ecstatic!"
Seeing that Ye Rongyuan wasn’t falling for his money offer, Ou Yangfu switched to a softer tone, pleading, "Just let me meet your niece once. I’ll talk to her, and if she refuses, I won’t bother you!"
He wanted to meet Ann, the little one, but Ye Rongyuan disagreed. However, he reluctantly agreed to let him talk to little one on the phone.
Ye Rongyuan thought for a moment. "Wait a moment."
He placed his phone on the coffee table in the ward’s living room and went into the room.
Ye Rongyuan didn’t complicate things. He simply told little one that there was a crazy uncle who wanted to talk to her on the phone.
Qin Sui’an blinked in confusion, her curiosity piqued by the words "crazy uncle." She followed her uncle to the living room.
Ye Rongyuan sat on the sofa with her in his arms and put the phone on speaker. He said to the person on the other end of the line, "Alright, you have one minute to talk to my niece."
Ou Yangfu protested, "Just one minute? Why are you so rude?"
Ignoring him, Ye Rongyuan said, "The timer starts now."
Ou Yangfu swallowed his complaints and tentatively asked, "Is Ann right next to you now?"
Qin Sui’an tilted her small face, glanced at her uncle, and saw him signaling her to speak. So she responded softly, "Uncle Crazy, Ann is here."
Ou Yangfu was stunned by the adorable voice for several seconds, even forgetting to correct little one’s address. He laughed cheerfully and said, "Hello, Ann! Nice to meet you! Although I haven’t seen you yet, I’m a good friend of your uncle, Ou Yangfu."
Qin Sui’an’s little face showed a puzzled expression. This crazy uncle wasn’t named Crazy. But since her uncle said so, there must be a reason.
She spoke softly, "Hello, Uncle Crazy."
Ou Yangfu scratched his head in confusion. Did he pronounce his name wrong? Why did little one call him Uncle Crazy?
He smiled and said, "Ann can call me brother."
Ye Rongyuan immediately retorted, "Are you trying to take advantage of me or of my niece? You’re over ten years older than her, so shouldn’t you be called uncle?"
Then, Ye Rongyuan added, "There are thirty seconds left."
"You..." Damn it, no wonder he became the CEO of Ye Corporation, he never lets himself be at a loss!
Oh well, it’s just a title, not important. Uncle Crazy it is.
With time running out, Ou Yangfu quickly got to the point, "Ann, Uncle has a favor to ask you. Please paint a picture for Uncle, and I’ll give you money. How much do you want? I’ll transfer it to you directly. The painting is simple. I’ll send you a video clip, and you can just paint based on that!"
The speech was long, and Qin Sui’an only remembered one word after listening: "Money?"
Ou Yangfu knew there was hope as soon as he heard that. Excitedly, he said, "Yes! Money! Ann, how much do you want for a painting? Uncle will buy it from you!"
Ye Rongyuan timed it perfectly. "Time’s up, bye."
As soon as he finished speaking, he ended the call without wasting another word.
Ou Yangfu was so angry with his actions that he stomped on the spot. If he called again, he’d be met with a cold, mechanical female voice: "The number you dialed is currently switched off..."
The living room returned to quietness.
Ye Rongyuan temporarily turned off his phone, having predicted that Ou Yangfu would call again to "harass" him.
He looked down at little one in his arms and asked softly, "Ann, do you have any questions?"
Qin Sui’an did have a question. She asked seriously, "Uncle, does Uncle Crazy mean he wants to pay money for Ann to paint a picture?"
"Yeah, that’s what he means. The time is tight, too, just about a day, because he wants to give it as a gift the day after tomorrow."
Ye Rongyuan held her little hand. Drawing is tiring for both hands and eyes, and he felt it wasn’t worth it no matter how much money, unless it’s out of interest and hobbies.
"What does Uncle Crazy want Ann to draw? Is it difficult?" Qin Sui’an pursed her lips and shook her head. "Ann can’t draw."
She had only drawn two pictures so far, which didn’t even qualify as real drawings, and she hadn’t received any formal training.
Observing her expression, Ye Rongyuan saw that she seemed somewhat interested, so he turned on his phone. "Let me go ask."
As soon as he turned it on, there was a barrage of angry messages from Ou Yangfu.
[Ou Yangfu: You ***! If you have the guts, don’t turn off your phone! You ***! [Angry][Raging][Out of my mind]]
Ye Rongyuan replied, "Where’s the video you mentioned? Send it over."
[Ou Yangfu: Rongyuan Daddy, you’re like my second parents! I! Love! You!!! [Heart][Heart]]
His ability to change his attitude on a dime was remarkable—he could bend and stretch as needed.
