Little one’s question successfully stumped the three adults present.
Old Mrs. Ye felt a sudden sense of unease, unsure of how to respond.
She instinctively turned to look at her husband.
Old Mr. Ye was also at a loss for words, exchanging glances with her.
In an instant, the living room fell into an indescribable silence.
The adults’ reaction only piqued little one’s curiosity even more about what her uncle did for a living.
Qin Sui’an tilted her head, her clear and bright eyes filled with confusion.
Seeing his parents quiet, Ye Liyuan gently cleared his throat and took on the responsibility of answering little one’s question.
"Ann, your uncle’s job is different from ordinary people’s. It’s somewhat dangerous, and we don’t quite understand the specifics ourselves."
Ye Liyuan’s voice was gentle as he reached out to tousle her hair, saying, "When you meet your uncle in the future, you can ask him yourself."
Qin Sui’an seemed to grasp some of it, nodding lightly. "Okay, then Ann will ask uncle when she sees him."
Ye Liyuan continued to feed her, saying, "Good girl, let’s continue with dinner."
This difficult question was temporarily set aside. It was best for her uncle to answer it himself. They couldn’t replace him in explaining his job.
After dinner, Qin Sui’an returned to the hospital room to chat with her mother about visiting the art exhibition.
Old Mrs. Qin sat in a chair beside the bed, holding Qin Sui’an, listening to her sweet and lovely voice without losing her smile.
According to their previous agreement, Qin Haochen arrived at the hospital entrance to pick up little one at nine o’clock in the evening.
The Ye family didn’t delay.
As soon as the Bentley stopped, Old Mrs. Ye, Old Mr. Ye, and Ye Liyuan walked out of the hospital with little one.
Almost immediately, Qin Haochen got out of the back seat and hurried towards them.
Qin Sui’an first saw their familiar car, then her father getting out of it.
She joyfully ran over, her round eyes wide open, and her short legs moving quickly. "Daddy!"
"Ann." Qin Haochen crouched down, arms open, catching little one as she leaped into his embrace.
He held her close, then looked at the Ye family, greeting them one by one before saying, "It’s getting late. I’ll take Ann home to rest."
"Go ahead. Drive carefully," Old Mr. Ye waved to them.
Old Mrs. Ye walked to the car, ensuring little one was securely in her child seat. She took a few steps forward, reluctantly touching little one’s face. "Ann, goodbye."
"Goodbye, Grandma~ Ann will miss Grandma~" Qin Sui’an held her hand, giving several kisses.
Unable to contain her smile, Old Mrs. Ye lovingly watched her. "Grandma will miss Ann too."
Qin Haochen got into the car, closed the door, rolled down the window, and bid farewell to them again.
The Bentley started its engine and slowly left the hospital gate, heading towards Bay Villa.
Old Mrs. Ye, Old Mr. Ye, and Ye Liyuan stood in place until Qin’s car completely disappeared from sight, then gradually turned their gaze away.
Ye Liyuan didn’t return to the hospital. "Mom, Dad, I have to go back to rest at the crew’s hotel tonight. I have an early shoot tomorrow morning."
Old Mrs. Ye nodded, reminding him, "Don’t schedule yourself too tightly. Remember to balance work and rest."
"I will." Ye Liyuan’s current workload was less than half of what it used to be. Before, he had been filming and doing advertisements relentlessly. Now that little one Ann was back home, he had less drive.
Ye Liyuan accompanied his parents to the elevator, waiting for them to return upstairs before leaving the hospital through the side door.
Bending into his black Bugatti Divo, Ye Liyuan just closed the door and felt like he saw a figure flash past in the rearview mirror.
He frowned slightly, adjusted his mask and hat, and waited for a moment instead of starting the car immediately.
In fact, Ye Liyuan received this Bugatti as a gift from his older brother on his eighteenth birthday, long before he became famous in the entertainment industry and made this much money.
This Bugatti had also brought him some strange news.
Some said he was good-looking and young, with good acting skills, but they couldn’t accept his smooth sailing in the circle. So rumors began that he was kept by someone, and that person even gave him a sports car.
Ye Liyuan found it ridiculous and didn’t bother to address these baseless rumors. His manager and the company even asked him if it was true.
He didn’t let them handle these rumors. If it escalated, he would simply sue the rumor-mongers. If he didn’t teach them a lesson, there would be more strange news about him in the future.
But before Ye Liyuan could act, someone else handled it properly for him.
He thought it must have been his older brother’s people helping out. Otherwise, how could all the news disappear so silently?
Since then, people in the industry vaguely felt that Ye Liyuan had a big background and wasn’t easy to provoke.
Returning his thoughts, Ye Liyuan stared at the rearview mirror.
He wasn’t sure if the figure just now was his imagination or if the other person was more patient than he was.
A few minutes passed, and he didn’t see any suspicious figures again.
Furrowing his brows even tighter, he thought he might have been overly suspicious.
Ye Liyuan started the engine and left the hospital through the side gate, heading for the hotel arranged by the crew for the actors.
Shortly after the black Bugatti Divo left, a tall figure walked out from behind a nearby car.
The man’s gaze lingered in the direction where the Bugatti disappeared for a moment, then turned his head to look at one of the hospital’s inpatient buildings.
Qin Haochen brought little one back to Bay Villa. She was already very sleepy and tired.
Very skillfully and gently, he helped her wash up, changed her into comfortable pajamas, and then carried her into the warm bed.
Qin Sui’an lifted her heavy eyelids, snuggling closer to her father. Even though she was very tired, she softly reminded her father, "Daddy, Uncle Zhu Xiulin is coming tomorrow."
"Dad remembers." Qin Haochen smiled softly, leaning down to kiss her soft cheek. "Ann, go to sleep. Dad will be with you to meet him tomorrow."
