Thinking of the solemn expressions on the Qin family’s faces, Zhu Xiulin felt that the meaning behind this drawing was definitely not simple. With this in mind, he quickly said to little Ann, "Ann, you keep playing; I’m going to... the restroom."
"Okay~" Qin Sui’an pointed in the direction of the restroom. "Master, the restroom is over there~"
"Thank you, Ann." Zhu Xiulin walked in the direction she pointed, and with the guidance of a bodyguard, circled back to the dining room.
The bodyguard led the way to the entrance of the dining room, then knocked on the door. "President, Madam, Sir, Mr. Zhu Xiulin has something to discuss."
Seeing their president nod slightly, the bodyguard moved aside, "Mr. Zhu Xiulin, please."
"Thank you." Zhu Xiulin thanked the bodyguard and stepped into the dining room once again.
The big white goose’s drawing was still on the floor. He looked at Mr. Qin and said, "Mr. Qin, I just had a chat with Ann. Her words gave me a significant hint."
As he spoke, Zhu Xiulin stepped forward and pointed to a part of the drawing. "I couldn’t make this part out earlier, but after hearing what Ann said, I think it does depict an adult man."
The big white goose flapped its wings excitedly, "Honk honk!"
Little Ann is amazing!
Little Ann not only understands my goose language but also my drawing!
"An adult man?" Old Mrs. Qin’s heart skipped a beat. "That’s too broad. Almost all the men in our Qin family are adults."
Qin Haochen frowned slightly. While they had gained another clue, it was too broad to narrow down the range significantly.
He took a deep breath, "Alright, we understand. Thank you."
"You’re welcome. If you need my help with anything, feel free to ask." It wasn’t just because of the Qin family; little Ann was his only little apprentice, and Zhu Xiulin would help no matter what.
As before, Zhu Xiulin left the dining room without lingering or asking further about the significance of the drawing.
Old Mr. Qin’s wrinkled face was stern and grave. "Haochen, the security at Bay Villa needs to be tightened. There can’t be any lapses."
"I will." Qin Haochen didn’t waste time and took out his phone to instruct He Yan, relaying the orders.
He glanced at the drawing on the floor, his thin lips involuntarily pressing together.
The thought of little Ann being in imminent danger made it impossible for Qin Haochen to feel at ease.
Old Mrs. Qin, deeply worried, sighed and suddenly remembered something. She turned to her son, "Haochen, should we inform the Ye family about this?"
In the past, when the big white goose sensed that little Ann was in danger, the Qin family and the Ye family were still at odds. Although their relationship hadn’t fully mended, at least now, after several interactions, they were no longer complete strangers.
Moreover, recently, the Ye family had been consulting the Qin family about anything related to little Ann, sometimes informing them without deliberate concealment.
Old Mrs. Qin’s words added a subtle tension to the dining room’s atmosphere.
Old Mr. Qin, always siding with his wife, immediately followed up, "Yes, Haochen, shouldn’t we pass this information to the Ye family?"
Little Ann had been frequently visiting the Ye family lately, and they couldn’t prevent her from wanting to see her mother.
Qin Haochen pondered for a moment and then said, "Alright, I’ll contact them." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Fortunately, the big white goose had visited the hospital before. Its behavior was indeed much smarter than an ordinary big white goose, so it shouldn’t surprise the Ye family too much.
With this matter temporarily settled, Qin Haochen called a bodyguard to take the big white goose’s drawing to the study for safekeeping.
Old Mrs. Qin and Old Mr. Qin returned to the living room.
Little Ann, Qin Sui’an, had already dressed up her Barbie dolls and placed them in the Barbie display cabinet.
Hearing the footsteps of her grandparents, she happily turned her little head and called out in her sweet voice, "Grandpa, Grandma~ Look~ These are Ann’s Barbie dolls~ Aren’t they pretty?"
Old Mrs. Qin immediately let go of her husband’s hand and walked over cheerfully, "They are very pretty, extremely pretty!"
Old Mr. Qin’s hand waved in the air, then dropped to his side helplessly. But when he looked at his granddaughter, he smiled again, "Ann has a good eye! These dolls look much prettier now that you’ve dressed them up!"
"Hehe~" Receiving praise from her grandparents, Qin Sui’an happily squinted her eyes, her little face glowing with joy.
Zhu Xiulin finished his painting, asked the bodyguard for a new frame, and personally framed it. The painting was finally complete.
Just as the Qin family’s elders returned, he immediately held up the freshly finished painting and presented it to Old Mrs. Qin and Old Mr. Qin.
He smiled and said, "Mrs. Qin, Mr. Qin, this is my first visit to your home, and I didn’t bring a proper gift. So, I’m taking the opportunity to present this painting to both of you."
Old Mrs. Qin immediately noticed the painting’s content and beamed with joy. "Oh, it’s our Ann and the big white goose."
In the painting, Zhu Xiulin used bright colors to depict little Ann and the big white goose playing together on the children’s play mat, capturing a scene full of innocent childhood and the loving harmony between the child and the animal.
Old Mr. Qin couldn’t stop smiling. He loved it so much that he wanted to examine it closely, but he restrained himself and politely said, "Mr. Zhu, you’re very thoughtful. Your paintings are valuable, and we feel embarrassed to accept it."
"My visit to your home has given me much more than the value of a painting," Zhu Xiulin sincerely replied. "I would feel embarrassed if I came empty-handed, especially since these drawing materials are yours."
As the adults exchanged polite words back and forth, Qin Sui’an stood nearby, watching with great interest. Her little head turned from her grandparents to her master and back again.
After several minutes of polite exchanges, Old Mrs. Qin and Old Mr. Qin finally accepted the painting.
Just as Qin Haochen entered the living room, he saw his parents admiring the painting with smiles on their faces, while little Ann stood obediently beside them.
His gaze subtly swept over Zhu Xiulin and his parents, already guessing what had happened.
Seeing her father, Qin Sui’an immediately ran over and jumped into his arms.
She looked up and pouted, "Daddy, you took so long to finish your meal~"
