The phone, having been asleep for a long time, displayed a pitch-black screen reflecting the man’s handsome face. He pressed the button on the side of the phone, and the screen lit up.
In less than a second, the phone successfully powered on, revealing a notification bar filled with unread messages, almost all from his family with concerned greetings.
The man’s gaze flickered as he silently read these messages but did not reply.
He opened one of the apps and went through the messages one by one, also choosing not to reply.
After reviewing all the messages, he searched for "Qin Six" in the app’s friends list and accessed this person’s profile.
The "Qin Six" in the profile had posted a recent moment on social media. The post featured a photo of a little one in a cute dress. The photo did not show the little one’s face, but from the back view, it was easy to imagine how adorable the little one must be.
The man’s finger gently brushed the screen, as if caressing the little one’s head, and a slight smile curved at the corners of his lips.
"Ann."
He remembered how the little one was just a tiny baby a few days after birth, so small that it didn’t even cover his arm length, with a head smaller than his palm.
Now, that baby was already three and a half years old.
The man allowed himself to let his longing for the little one spread freely in the small apartment, no longer hiding his true emotions.
However, his task was not yet complete.
He couldn’t visit the little one just yet.
But he believed that he would be able to see the little one soon.
Half an hour later, the man turned off his phone and placed it back under the sofa.
He turned his head and looked out the window.
The morning sun at seven o’clock was dazzling, as if a bright future was beckoning him, welcoming his arrival.
The man stood up, retraced his steps, walked down the now downhill corridor, and opened the door to another villa.
As the door opened, his expression returned to its usual calm.
He was Boyce.
Three years ago, he had overthrown the previous leader, taking his place and directly controlling countless fierce subordinates, walking on the edge of a knife, and making many enemies.
Many sought Boyce’s life, especially recently, because Boyce had taken control of Ya Delta.
This was Boyce’s first time entering A City. There were rumors that Boyce intended to conquer A City and use it as a base to monopolize the entire Ya Delta.
A City was undoubtedly a big prize. Even though Boyce had only been here a few days, the rumors were rampant, as if a spark was all that was needed to ignite the situation. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
At seven-thirty in the morning, in the dining room of Bay Villa.
Qin Qianyi, the new chairman of the school’s board, was eating breakfast with visible resentment.
He had thought that being the new chairman would exempt him from going to school, but his father, Qin Haochen, said, "Be a good example for Ann." So, Qin Qianyi had to drag himself out of bed and get ready for school.
If he had known his father had this trick up his sleeve, he would have preferred to blow up the school rather than becoming its chairman!
Of course, such thoughts were only kept to himself. If he had the courage to act, his grandfather would have given him a good beating first.
Moreover, he needed to set a good example for his sister!
So, while Qin Qianyi grumbled and comforted himself, he finished his breakfast and headed towards the castle’s entrance.
At the entrance, a row of bicycles was neatly parked, with the first being a cute, pink mini bike.
Seeing the bike was like seeing its little owner, Qin Qianyi smiled, and even the thought of going to school didn’t seem so annoying anymore.
Last night, President Qin Haochen had ordered that no cars were to be used in Bay Villa, and only bicycles were allowed. The bodyguards had moved the usual vehicles of the president, the old lady, the old gentleman, and the other young masters out of Bay Villa.
Qin Qianyi picked up his bike and was about to ride it to the castle’s entrance when he heard footsteps behind him.
Curiously, he turned around and saw his elder brother, Qin Fujia, seemingly about to leave as well.
Qin Fujia couldn’t ride a bike and had stayed out late the night before, so he hadn’t learned yet.
Noticing his younger brother was about to leave, he walked over, "Sixth Brother, give me a ride?"
It seemed like a question but was actually a statement.
"...Alright." Qin Qianyi knew he had no right to refuse. He asked curiously, "Elder Brother, are you going up the mountain today as well?"
"Hmm, there’s something I haven’t dealt with." Qin Fujia usually wouldn’t make a trip home if he hadn’t finished his work, but since his sister was at home, seeing and spending time with her was worth the trip.
Qin Qianyi rode his bike, carrying his elder brother, and headed towards the Bay Villa entrance.
Although he was the one putting in the effort, he felt quite proud, patting the bike with one hand, "Elder Brother, my idea isn’t bad, right? Dad didn’t come up with such a good idea!"
Qin Fujia could not deny it and raised an eyebrow in praise, "Not bad."
At least at home, in Bay Villa, their sister was very safe.
As long as their sister was safe, they were willing to cooperate unconditionally with anything, even riding a bicycle.
"Ah, but the issue with that painting. The problem with the car is solved, but the tall man in the painting hasn’t been dealt with yet." Qin Qianyi muttered, "We can’t just stay away from Ann, right? I can’t do that."
He couldn’t do it, so he kept silent about the tall man in the painting since he also fit that description.
Qin Qianyi glanced back at his elder brother, "By the way, Elder Brother, were you reciting scriptures with the big white goose in the living room just now?"
"Hmm." As long as Qin Fujia was at home, he would always have the big white goose recite scriptures with him in the morning.
Qin Qianyi asked again, "Did the big white goose mention the painting?"
Qin Fujia glanced at him, "Even if it did, I wouldn’t understand."
In this family, only Ann could understand the big white goose’s language, and perhaps only Ann in the whole world could.
Qin Qianyi sighed with regret, "I thought Elder Brother, with your high comprehension, could understand it like Ann."
Upon arriving at the Bay Villa entrance, Qin Qianyi handed his bike to the bodyguard and switched to a car to head to school.
Qin Fujia got into another car and was driven back up the mountain by a bodyguard.
As they had just left Bay Villa, his phone rang.
Qin Fujia looked down at the caller ID, and with an impassive expression, pressed the answer button.
A deep, threatening male voice came from the receiver, "Young Master Fujia, how have you been considering it?"
