Chapter 315: The Connection Between Them

Before he could respond, Qin Haochen continued, "Let’s talk in the study."

"Alright." Qin Fujia followed him to the study on the first floor.

Once the study door was closed and they were sure it was just the two of them, Qin Haochen glanced at him and asked, "Did you go to see Boyce?"

The bodyguard who had dropped Qin Fujia off at Bay Villa had reported to Qin Haochen, revealing that Qin Fujia intended to meet Boyce. A bit of thought made it clear that whatever Qin Fujia wanted to discuss must be related to Boyce.

"I only caught a glimpse of him from a distance," Qin Fujia said, with a hint of hesitation. After a moment, he added, "Dad, Boyce is Ye Xiaoyuan."

His tone was very certain, a hundred percent sure.

Qin Haochen didn’t seem very surprised. It was as if he had already suspected this but hadn’t confirmed it.

He looked at Qin Fujia and asked, "Did he see you?"

Qin Fujia shook his head. "No."

Qin Haochen walked to his desk, took out a document locked in the cabinet, and fed it into the shredder, turning it into shreds. This document, provided by He Yan, was about Boyce. With the confirmation that Boyce was Ye Xiaoyuan, there was no need to keep it.

"Don’t let anyone else know about this," Qin Haochen said after a pause. "And don’t mention it to the Ye family either."

Ye Xiaoyuan had gone into hiding and reappeared as Boyce. Regardless of his reasons or the path he chose as Boyce, the Qin family had no right to interfere.

Qin Fujia slightly furrowed his brow. "Dad, Dong Zhenhong approached me yesterday. He wanted to cooperate with me to take down Boyce, but I refused. Dong Zhenhong might target me next."

Qin Fujia generally wouldn’t involve Qin Haochen in his personal matters unless necessary. However, now that it involved someone from the Ye family, the Qin family could not ignore it.

Qin Haochen’s expression turned cold.

Dong Zhenhong was no good person.

For some reason, Qin Haochen suddenly thought of the painting of the white goose. The timing was too coincidental: the white goose seemed to have sensed danger for the little one, Boyce appeared in A City, and Dong Zhenhong had targeted Qin Fujia.

After a long silence, Qin Haochen asked, "Does Dong Zhenhong know about Ann’s existence?"

"Not before, but he might find out about the Qin family now," Qin Fujia said. As the eldest son of the Qin family, not many knew this news, but it wasn’t hard to uncover for those who were looking.

Qin Haochen made up his mind and instructed, "Be careful during this period."

Their conversation in the study was brief. Qin Fujia left first, and soon, He Yan received a message from President Qin Haochen to go to the study.

Qin Fujia walked out of the castle and headed towards the lawn behind it.

Before reaching his destination, he heard bursts of laughter coming from the lawn, including the little one’s, Old Mr. Qin’s, Old Mrs. Qin’s, and the occasional honk of a goose.

Old Mr. Qin had spent the entire morning trying to learn how to ride a bicycle while turning. He still couldn’t master it and had to get off the bike and manually adjust it to turn. Otherwise, he could only ride straight.

Old Mr. Qin’s first bicycle teacher, Qin Qianyi, had given up teaching him, and his second teacher, Qin Yaoyu, had to rush to NYC in Country M for urgent investment matters.

Now, Qin Sui’an, the little one, had become Old Mr. Qin’s third bicycle teacher.

Little one wasn’t tall enough to reach the bike’s handlebars, but she was doing her best to teach her grandfather how to turn while riding, though it was quite challenging.

Old Mr. Qin was worried about falling and hurting his precious granddaughter and struggled with turning, which seemed to be a mental obstacle for him.

Old Mrs. Qin followed closely behind the little one, often amused by the nervousness of the grandfather-granddaughter duo.

The white goose was just there for the fun, waddling around and occasionally honking loudly, "Honk honk!"

Little Ann’s grandfather was too timid! How could he not manage such a simple thing as turning?

Old Mr. Qin didn’t understand the goose’s honking but felt like the goose was talking badly about him.

Qin Sui’an understood and turned her small head to the goose, saying sternly, "White goose, don’t say that. Grandpa is very capable! He can ride a bicycle!"

The white goose lowered its volume, "Honk honk..." Yes, he can ride the bicycle, but he can’t turn!

If only it had human hands and feet, it would also ride a bicycle!

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes and looked at the white goose and her own mini bicycle. She said seriously, "White goose, your bicycle is even smaller than Ann’s. It’s very dangerous for you to ride."

If the bicycle fell, it could crush the white goose.

"Honk..." The white goose imagined itself becoming a goose meat pie and quickly shook its fluffy little head.

It really was dangerous! Maybe it shouldn’t ride a bicycle!

After "educating" the white goose, Qin Sui’an turned her attention back to her grandfather, comforting him, "Grandpa, don’t be scared. Just bend your hands, and the bike will turn!"

"Grandpa, do your best..." Old Mr. Qin initially declared confidently that he would learn, especially with his granddaughter’s help, but now he was reluctant to make empty promises.

Whenever he needed to turn, his hands would become stiff, and he couldn’t bend them, let alone turn the bike’s handlebars.

Old Mrs. Qin watched from the side and decided not to offer any more advice, letting him ride straight and "straightforwardly" in the Bay Villa. After all, it was just for fun and exercise.

Old Mr. Qin’s bicycle reached the end of the lawn. He ended up getting off the bike, turning it manually, and riding back.

Qin Sui’an sighed quietly.

Sigh, if Grandpa can’t learn, he just can’t.

As she turned with her grandfather, Qin Sui’an spotted a tall figure approaching from a distance.

Her eyes lit up, and she waved her little hand happily, "Big brother~"

"Ann." Qin Fujia walked towards them, a smile spreading across his lips when he saw his sister Ann.

Old Mrs. Qin glanced behind her eldest son but didn’t see Qin Haochen, realizing that her son might have urgent matters to attend to.

Qin Fujia reached his sister and, with arms outstretched, bent down to hug her. "Is Ann teaching Grandpa how to ride a bicycle?"

"No, Grandpa can ride a bicycle already." Qin Sui’an shook her little head and corrected him in a childish voice, "Ann is teaching Grandpa how to turn."

Unfortunately, it wasn’t working.

Little one didn’t say this part, but she sighed like a grown-up and leaned into big brother’s embrace. She sniffed at the pleasant smell on him.

The pleasant smell wasn’t as strong as it was last night.

How strange, why did the pleasant smell change?

Qin Fujia noticed her sniffing and looked puzzled.

His sister had done the same thing last night.

Did he have some sort of smell?

Old Mrs. Qin, knowing that her grandchildren rarely had time to be together, continued walking with Old Mr. Qin’s bicycle without staying behind.

Qin Fujia slowed his pace and, once they were a little farther from their grandparents, looked down and gently asked, "Ann, do I have a smell?"

"Yes, a pleasant smell~" Qin Sui’an pointed to the Buddhist beads on big brother’s wrist and said, "It smells like the beads, but a little different."

Qin Fujia held her in one arm and raised the hand with the beads to inspect it closely.

The beads naturally had a sandalwood scent, and perhaps because he had worn them for a long time, he also carried a hint of sandalwood fragrance.

Qin Sui’an remembered that big brother came home very late last night. She looked up and curiously asked, "Big brother, are you not busy today?"

"Not for now," Qin Fujia said, not finding anything special about the beads, and lowered his hand, keeping it protectively around his sister’s back.

Qin Sui’an’s eyes curved with a smile.

She knew that only when her family wasn’t busy would they have time to be with her.

At that moment, she sniffed big brother again, wondering if the pleasant smell was less strong when he wasn’t busy.

Hmm, it didn’t seem that way.

Qin Sui’an shook her little head slightly.

Her dad was always busy, but his smell had never changed.

Qin Fujia noticed her furrowed brows and occasional head shakes, as if she were pondering a complex problem, and felt curious.

"Ann, what are you thinking about?" Qin Fujia asked softly.

Qin Sui’an, unable to figure it out herself, said with a puzzled little voice, "Thinking about the smell..."

Qin Fujia was momentarily confused. "What?"

"The smell on big brother." Qin Sui’an’s little face showed a worried expression. "Last night, Ann smelled a strong pleasant smell on big brother, but now it’s not so strong."

"Ann thought that when big brother is busy, the smell would become stronger, but it doesn

’t seem like that." She scratched her head in confusion. "Daddy is always busy, but the smell on daddy is always the same, it doesn’t get stronger."

Qin Fujia was slightly stunned.

He suddenly remembered that when his sister first came home, she had also mentioned something about smell.

Could it be that the smell on each person had different reactions for Ann?

Qin Fujia shook off his thoughts and calmly asked, "Ann, what about the smell on Grandpa and Grandma?"
