Chapter 324: Missing the Big White Goose Toy

In the hospital room, the air was filled with the scent of disinfectant. The faint beeping sounds of medical equipment could be heard from inside the room.

Ye Liyuan walked softly to the door of the room, glanced at his older brother Ye Xiaoyuan, and then pushed open the door.

The stronger smell of disinfectant wafted out from the room.

Ye Xiaoyuan silently looked at his younger sister Ye Zhaosi, who lay on the bed, still unconscious.

Ye Liyuan knew his older brother hadn’t seen her for a long time, so he made an excuse, "Big Brother, I need to use the restroom."

He left the room, giving his brother some private space.

Ye Xiaoyuan stood at the door of the room for a few seconds before stepping forward towards his sister’s bed.

His sister looked even thinner than he remembered, her complexion not very good. Her pale face made him worry that she might suddenly leave them at any moment.

Standing by the bed, Ye Xiaoyuan looked down at Ye Zhaosi for a long time before speaking, "I’m back, Zhaosi."

"I wasn’t able to visit you before, so don’t be upset with me," Ye Xiaoyuan spoke softly. "I saw a post from Qin Qianyi of the Qin family showing a photo of Ann. Although I haven’t seen Ann’s face yet, I feel like she must look a lot like you."

He suddenly looked up at a painting hanging on the wall. "This painting is beautiful. It seems like a style you would like. Wake up soon and see this painting."

Ye Xiaoyuan didn’t know that this painting was a gift from Ann to her mother. He instinctively felt that the painting was very sunny and full of hope, which was what they needed.

The medical equipment emitted a steady beeping sound, as if indicating that the patient’s condition was stable and unchanged.

Ye Xiaoyuan stayed in the room for about ten minutes. When he came out, he saw his younger brother Ye Liyuan lying on the sofa, asleep with his eyes closed.

On the other side of the living room, there was a small children’s play area surrounded by a fence, filled with many toys and dolls. The contrast with the plain white hospital room was striking but somehow felt intimately connected.

Ye Xiaoyuan smiled slightly, walked over to the play area, and bent down to pick up one of the small toys through the fence.

It was a miniature white goose plush toy, smaller than his palm.

It seemed Ann still liked small animals.

Ye Xiaoyuan smiled silently and took the little white goose toy with him as he left the room.

He had just finished a mission yesterday, and once he was settled, he planned to visit his family again.

Ye Xiaoyuan closed the door behind him and turned to look at the rest area next door where his parents were staying.

After observing for a moment, Ye Xiaoyuan walked towards the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, the floor numbers slowly descended to the first floor.

Meanwhile, the door to the rest area was opened.

Old Mrs. Ye had just woken up and walked over to the hospital room. Through the window, she saw her second son lying on the sofa, asleep.

She shook her head helplessly, gently opened the door without waking him, and covered him with a blanket.

Ye Liyuan stirred slightly but didn’t wake up and fell back asleep.

Old Mrs. Ye glanced around the children’s play area and, just as she was about to turn away, noticed something and frowned, examining the toys more closely.

It seemed that the big white goose toy, which belonged to her granddaughter, was missing.

Meanwhile, Qin Niexun returned to Bay Villa at around 7:30 in the morning. As soon as he stepped through the castle’s main entrance, he was greeted with a surprised shout:

"Fourth Brother! What happened to your hand?"

Qin Qianyi, who had been a model student recently, attending school punctually and not setting a bad example for his sister Ann, had just finished breakfast and was about to head to school. He had been walking slowly toward the door when he noticed the injury on his Fourth Brother Qin Niexun’s hand, and could still smell a faint metallic odor of blood.

He rushed over, "Fourth Brother, what happened? Did you get injured on a mission?"

Qin Niexun had been out all night, and Qin Fujia had informed them that he was working, which was why he hadn’t come home.

Qin Niexun had been injured before, but he usually didn’t return to Bay Villa until the injury was healed and no longer noticeable.

With Ann at home now, he would come back whenever he could. This was the first time Qin Qianyi had seen his Fourth Brother injured. Slightly flustered, he said, "Second Brother hasn’t gone to the hospital yet. I’ll go get him."

With that, Qin Qianyi started to run upstairs.
