The bodyguard parked the car and respectfully opened the rear door.
The large white goose hopped out first, followed by Qin Yanyi, who carried Qin Sui’an as he got out of the car.
Qin Fujia immediately set aside his thoughts about Ye Xiaoyuan and quickly approached. "Ann."
"Big brother~" Qin Sui’an’s round eyes brightened as she called him with her soft, sweet voice.
Qin Fujia naturally took his sister from his younger brother’s arms. After securing her, he turned to Qin Yanyi and asked, "Don’t we need to go to the hospital today?"
Qin Yanyi felt an empty space in his arms and was uncomfortable, but he couldn’t take his sister back from his elder brother. His expression showed a hint of regret as he replied, "Big brother, I’ll go to the hospital in the afternoon. I’m resting this morning."
With that, the brothers had nothing more to say.
Qin Fujia looked down at his sister and softened his voice. "I heard that Ann has something urgent to discuss with me?"
Remembering the purpose of her visit, Qin Sui’an nodded vigorously and said earnestly, "Yes, it’s urgent~"
"Then let’s talk in the hall." Qin Fujia carried her into the temple.
Qin Sui’an placed her small hands on her big brother’s shoulders, leaning back and saying in her baby voice, "Big brother, big uncle seems to have something urgent to find you too."
At her words, Qin Fujia paused and glanced back. Ye Xiaoyuan was still standing by his car, calmly watching them.
Qin Fujia asked him, "Do you have something to discuss with me too?"
Ye Xiaoyuan nodded slightly, "Yes."
"Come in." Qin Fujia gestured for him to follow.
The last time Dong Zhenhong visited, he had destroyed everything he could in the reception room, costing tens of thousands to repair.
At that moment, the reception room looked very plain, with nothing but tables and chairs and some simple tea-brewing tools.
Qin Fujia guessed that Ann’s urgent matter might be related to the scent they had discussed before.
Since the matter was somewhat unusual, Qin Fujia decided to let Qin Yanyi and Ye Xiaoyuan sit in the reception room while he took Ann to the adjacent lounge.
Qin Yanyi watched his elder brother and sister leave, feeling curious.
Why were they being so mysterious? Was there something even he couldn’t know?
As he pondered, he noticed Ye Xiaoyuan preparing tea and suddenly realized that he might be expected to stay and accompany Ye Xiaoyuan.
Ye Xiaoyuan noticed Qin Yanyi’s gaze linger on him for a moment. He poured tea for himself and also for Qin Yanyi. "Are you and your elder brother still not very familiar with each other?"
"What do you mean?" Qin Yanyi frowned slightly.
Ye Xiaoyuan said calmly, "It seems your elder brother is still keeping something from you."
Qin Yanyi remained calm. "Perhaps it’s a habit of the older brother to keep things hidden. Uncle, aren’t you the same?"
Ye Xiaoyuan glanced at him but didn’t refute.
The two of them fell silent and continued drinking their tea.
In the adjacent lounge.
Qin Fujia sat on the sofa with his sister in his arms. Once he confirmed that there was no one else around, he gently asked, "What did Ann want to tell me?"
"Big brother, Fourth Brother got injured this morning." Qin Sui’an rubbed her little arm. "Second Brother said Fourth Brother was hurt here."
Qin Fujia furrowed his brow slightly. "Is it serious?"
"Ann didn’t see Fourth Brother. When Ann woke up, Fourth Brother was resting in his room," Qin Sui’an said with a worried expression. "But Second Brother said it’s not serious."
"That’s good." Qin Fujia trusted his younger brother’s medical skills. The fact that his younger brother brought Ann to him suggested Fourth Brother’s injury wasn’t severe.
Qin Sui’an clutched her big brother’s clothes and looked up at him. "Big brother, do you remember what Ann said about the scent?"
"Yes," Qin Fujia recalled. "Yesterday afternoon, you mentioned that Niexun’s scent had become stronger."
"Yes, that’s it." Qin Sui’an’s little brows furrowed. "Big brother, does it mean that if the scent gets stronger, it could cause injuries?"
Qin Fujia was surprised that Ann could connect the scent with injuries. It seemed that this connection was not without basis.
When Dong Zhenhong first came to discuss cooperation, Ann said his scent had become stronger that night. After their negotiation failed the next day, from Ann’s perspective, his scent had returned to normal.
Perhaps, by rejecting Dong Zhenhong, he had indirectly removed himself from danger.
Seeing that Big Brother hadn’t responded, Qin Sui’an waited patiently, her curiosity piqued.
Qin Fujia collected his thoughts and gently rubbed her head. "What Ann said should be correct."
He should inform Ann to pay attention to changes in the scent of everyone. However, he didn’t want his three-and-a-half-year-old sister to worry about such matters.
As he pondered a compromise, he heard Ann’s sweet voice:
"Big brother, if Ann notices that everyone’s scent is stronger in the future, Ann will tell everyone immediately!" Qin Sui’an’s voice was sweet, but her little face was serious.
It would be great if they could avoid danger in advance!
Thinking about this, Qin Sui’an’s small head drooped. "If Ann were a little smarter, Fourth Brother wouldn’t have been injured."
Her thoughtful words softened Qin Fujia’s heart.
He gently held Ann and spoke in a suddenly serious tone, "It’s not Ann’s fault. You mustn’t think like that."
Qin Sui’an tightened her small hands. "But..."
"There are no buts." Qin Fujia needed to clear this notion from her mind; otherwise, Ann might blame herself whenever someone got hurt in the future.
Qin Fujia’s expression grew stern, but his voice remained gentle and serious. "Ann, everyone gets hurt to some extent. The only way to fully avoid injuries is to be cautious and careful."
In Qin Sui’an’s bright, round eyes, her big brother’s stern expression reflected.
She wasn’t scared by her big brother’s seriousness; instead, she listened attentively.
"Being able to predict danger from changes in everyone’s scent is already impressive," Qin Fujia added. "But it’s not something Ann must do. You shouldn’t feel burdened."
Qin Sui’an listened carefully and slowly nodded. "Ann seems to understand now."
Qin Fujia sighed in relief internally.
Ann was already very sensible, especially for a three-and-a-half-year-old little one.
If possible, he even wished that Ann didn’t have such a special skill that was so beneficial to them.
