Qin Sui’an finished drinking all the milk from the bottle. She tilted her little head to look at her big brother and, imitating her second brother, comforted him in a babyish voice, "Big brother, don’t worry. Ann didn’t encounter anything bad~"
Qin Fujia, still processing, thought his worried expression might have been too obvious.
"Alright," he said, smiling, and moved to sit next to Ann. "What would you like to eat first?"
The food in the Dining Hall wasn’t cooked by professional chefs but by monks from the temple. The taste wasn’t as good as outside food, but it was still edible. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, her attention caught by a fish. "Ann wants to eat fish~"
Qin Fujia picked up some faux fish made from tofu and patiently explained, "This isn’t real fish; it’s vegetarian fish made from tofu."
"Vegetarian fish?" Qin Sui’an had never heard this term before. She looked at the fish and asked, "Is it fake fish?"
Qin Fujia nodded gently. "You could say that."
Ye Xiaoyuan placed the empty milk bottle aside, ensuring it didn’t obstruct little one’s view.
Holding the bowl with the faux fish and a small spoon, Qin Sui’an dug into the fragrant white rice mixed with the faux fish, taking a large bite. Her cheeks puffed up as she chewed thoughtfully.
As her big brother said, it wasn’t real fish and didn’t taste like fish, but it was still delicious.
Qin Fujia observed Ann eating slowly, a hint of concern in his eyes. He wondered if Ann would get used to the vegetarian food from the temple.
If she couldn’t adapt, they might need to take her somewhere else to eat later.
Just as he was deciding this, he saw Ann finishing the food in her mouth.
Before he could ask, Ann said, "It’s delicious, big brother." Qin Sui’an patted her little tummy, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the other food on the table. "Ann is used to it."
Qin Fujia sighed in relief and asked with a smile, "Is there anything else you want to eat?"
"Hmm..." Qin Sui’an reached out and pointed at another plate of ribs. "Ann wants to eat ribs~"
Naturally, the ribs were also vegetarian, made to look like real ribs.
Qin Fujia was about to explain to avoid any misunderstanding, but he heard Ann say:
"Oh~ It’s fake ribs too~" Qin Sui’an nodded as if she understood.
She seemed to grasp that all the "meat" here was fake.
Qin Fujia placed two pieces of vegetarian ribs into her bowl, smiling, "You guessed right, this is also fake ribs."
Qin Sui’an didn’t guess; she heard her big brother’s thoughts. However, her main focus was to eat her fill, so she didn’t clarify with her big brother. Instead, she continued to eat the rice with faux ribs.
Ye Xiaoyuan, initially not very hungry, felt a rare pang of appetite watching little one eat heartily. He picked up a bowl, trying a piece of the faux fish and then a piece of the faux ribs.
It was strange. The taste was average, but seeing little one enjoy it made him feel it was indeed quite tasty.
Qin Yanyi also ate everything Ann had, finishing a bowl of rice quickly. His appetite was decent today.
Seeing Ann still eating, Qin Yanyi decided to add another bowl of rice for himself. He considered it as keeping her company while eating.
Qin Fujia didn’t worry about whether they were used to the food but focused on taking care of Ann and ensuring she was full.
After finishing all the vegetarian dishes on the table, Qin Sui’an’s little tummy was finally satisfied.
She finished the last bit of rice in her bowl, chewing slowly before swallowing it.
Qin Sui’an put down her utensils, very content, and said, "Ann is full~"
Almost simultaneously, Ye Xiaoyuan and Qin Yanyi also put down their utensils, having had enough.
Qin Fujia took out a handkerchief and carefully wiped Ann’s little mouth.
He then looked at the plates on the table. To his surprise, every plate was empty—clean plate action was thoroughly executed.
As Qin Yanyi cleaned up the plates and was about to return them to the Dining Hall, a pair of hands reached out.
"I’ll handle it." Ye Xiaoyuan took the plates from him, said nothing more, and walked out.
Qin Yanyi watched his retreating figure in surprise and, once he was out of earshot, quietly said to his elder brother, "I was surprised."
He didn’t expect Ye Xiaoyuan to be so considerate and willing to help.
Qin Fujia glanced in the direction Ye Xiaoyuan had left and then asked his second brother, "Is there anything else you haven’t told me?"
Qin Yanyi almost forgot about it. He sat back on the sofa and said, "It’s nothing major. It’s just that Ann suddenly started hearing our thoughts."
Qin Fujia’s brows furrowed slightly as he looked at Ann with a puzzled expression.
Was it what he thought it was?
Qin Sui’an nodded her little head, her dark, clear eyes full of sincerity as she said in a soft, sweet voice, "It’s just what big brother is thinking!"
Qin Fujia was momentarily stunned.
Ann really could hear his thoughts?
He stared at Ann, unable to speak for a while.
Seeing his usually composed elder brother being stunned by Ann’s ability to hear their thoughts, Qin Yanyi couldn’t help but smile and say, "Elder brother, isn’t Ann amazing?"
After a while, Qin Fujia came out of his shock. "Ann is impressive."
This morning, he was already astonished that Ann could sense potential dangers from people’s different scents.
And now, Ann could hear their thoughts.
It was truly unbelievable.
No matter which ability, mentioning it to others would make them doubt its credibility.
Their sister Ann was truly amazing.
Listening to her big brother and second brother praising her, Qin Sui’an’s little face turned a shade of red, feeling shy as she pressed her lips together. "Ann also suddenly started hearing everyone’s thoughts."
She hadn’t really noticed when she began hearing others’ thoughts.
Perhaps it began when she heard the small Buddha’s words in the various halls, and then she could hear everyone’s thoughts.
Qin Fujia didn’t dwell on what Ann had done to develop this ability. Instead, he was more concerned about another issue. "Ann, are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
He worried that such special abilities might come at a cost to Ann.
