Chapter 348: Little One Can’t Hide Her Feelings

When Qin Haochen heard little one’s candid remark, he felt a bit embarrassed but didn’t try to defend himself.

To prevent himself from setting a bad example for little one, Qin Haochen gently said, "Whether it’s skipping work or skipping class, it’s not good. Daddy was being lazy, so Ann shouldn’t learn from Daddy’s bad behavior."

Qin Sui’an looked enlightened and her little face showed a serious expression. "So Daddy didn’t let big brother skip class because it’s bad."

Qin Haochen nodded, "Yes, that’s right."

Qin Sui’an completely understood and nodded her little head in agreement. "Ann won’t learn it. Daddy can rest assured."

Qin Haochen couldn’t help but smile. Little one’s words were always so adorable.

Their affectionate moment didn’t last long, as Old Mrs. Qin came to call them for dinner.

In the dining room, Old Mr. Qin, Qin Niexun, and Qin Qianyi were already seated and waiting for them.

Qin Sui’an was carried into the dining room by her father and placed in her special children’s chair.

She looked at her four brothers and asked, "Big brother, second brother, third brother, and fifth brother aren’t coming home for dinner?"

Qin Niexun explained, "They haven’t finished their work yet and can’t make it back. They’re having dinner separately."

Qin Haochen handed little one a glass of milk and started serving her other delicious food.

Seeing his skilled actions, Old Mrs. Qin wanted to help but couldn’t find a chance, smiling contentedly.

When she was in F Country for recuperation and heard that her little granddaughter had come home, Old Mrs. Qin hurriedly took the fastest flight back. She missed her little granddaughter dearly and was also worried that her son and grandsons might not take proper care of her.

Now, it seemed that her worries were unnecessary. Not only was Haochen taking great care of the granddaughter, but even the seemingly unreliable grandsons were doing well with her.

Of course, Old Mrs. Qin felt that her granddaughter was well-behaved and didn’t give them much trouble.

While enjoying her dinner, Old Mrs. Qin felt very gratified and was suddenly surprised when a small hand grasped her arm.

Looking down, she saw that the little hand’s owner was smiling with bright, sparkling eyes.

Old Mrs. Qin didn’t know what her granddaughter was happy about, but her mood was lifted by little one’s cheerfulness. She couldn’t help but smile back, "Ann is very happy?"

"Mmhm! Ann is happy~" Qin Sui’an nodded vigorously, her round eyes turning into crescent moons as she smiled.

Qin Qianyi, sitting diagonally opposite his sister Ann, could see her adorable smile easily.

Seeing Ann so happy, he looked at his grandmother and asked, "Grandma, did you praise Ann in your heart?"

Qin Qianyi didn’t have mind-reading abilities, but his sister’s pure and transparent emotions were written all over her little face, easily visible to him.

For instance, right now, Ann’s beaming face clearly showed she was reacting to praise.

Old Mrs. Qin glanced at her grandson and didn’t deny it. "You’ve caught me."

Qin Sui’an looked at her brother with admiration. "Big brother is amazing!"

She hadn’t said anything to Grandma, but big brother guessed it all!

"Not that amazing, not that amazing." Qin Qianyi, who couldn’t resist flattery, especially from his sister Ann, had his smile spreading uncontrollably.

Just moments ago, he had thought Ann’s expressions were so transparent and now he himself was smiling just as brightly.

Meanwhile, Qin Fujia had agreed to help Ye Xiaoyuan with something at noon. He carefully timed his visit, arriving at the residence Ye Xiaoyuan had lived in before a few hours after Ye Xiaoyuan left the temple.

The taxi stopped in a regular residential area.

Qin Fujia got out and walked to a small apartment building of about five or six floors, stopping in front of an apartment on the first floor.

He entered the apartment door’s code, and as the lock beeped to indicate the code was correct, the neighboring apartment door opened.

An elderly woman, who was very down-to-earth, saw the rarely home neighbor had suddenly returned and was startled. She then warmly greeted him, "Oh, young man, you’re back home? It’s been several years, hasn’t it?"

Qin Fujia had only been away for a few days and didn’t want to attract attention. He wore a hat to cover his highly recognizable bald head.

Qin Fujia nodded calmly at the woman, "Changed jobs, haven’t had time to come back here."

"The new job must be quite good," the woman said, looking him up and down. The clothes he wore didn’t look ordinary, probably quite expensive.

Qin Fujia followed her lead, "Not bad."

He turned the door handle and opened the door.

The woman immediately took the hint and said with a smile, "Congratulations then. I won’t keep you. Goodbye, young man."

"Goodbye." Qin Fujia entered the apartment and closed the door behind him.

This wasn’t a luxury neighborhood, so the sound insulation was average. He could faintly hear some conversation outside:

"Auntie, who were you talking to?"

"My neighbor. That young man bought this apartment and has only been here twice."

"You mean the one who bought this apartment from you for extra money a few years ago?"

"Yes, that’s him."

...

Qin Fujia didn’t listen further and scanned the apartment.

The decor was cozy, and the essential daily furniture was present, but there weren’t many extra items. It looked like a place that had been unoccupied for a long time.

Qin Fujia checked the apartment for any anomalies, then went back to the living room.

Ye Xiaoyuan had asked him to retrieve a phone.

Qin Fujia found the phone as instructed by Ye Xiaoyuan, located under one of the sofas.

The phone was outdated, at least three or four years old.

The screen was black, indicating it was turned off.

Qin Fujia inspected the phone but didn’t notice anything special.

Having retrieved the item, Qin Fujia stayed in the apartment a bit longer before leaving.

As he was leaving, he happened to run into the same elderly woman.

She saw him about to leave and said with a smile, "Aren’t you staying a few more days?"

"No, I have a place to stay elsewhere," Qin Fujia replied briefly. "Goodbye."
