Chapter 347: Dad’s Double Standards

He Yan knew that the president was heading home, but as an assistant, he couldn’t handle those documents on behalf of the president. He had to take the risk of getting scolded and bring the files along so the president could handle them while traveling back home.

Soon, he would be able to see little one. The atmosphere in the car wasn’t too tense, definitely more comfortable than during the meeting.

Qin Haochen skimmed through the documents with focus, occasionally glancing at the time to check how long it would take to get home.

Although He Yan was sitting in the passenger seat, he was highly attentive to the president in the backseat. Whenever the president looked up or gave a glance, He Yan would immediately report, "President, we’ll arrive at Bay Villa in ten minutes."

"Hmm." Qin Haochen responded and continued working on the documents.

After the Qin and Ye families became in-laws, the two major corporations had business dealings, developing mutually beneficial collaborations. However, after Ye Zhaosi and Qin Sui’an’s incident, the business ties between the two families had been completely severed.

Now that Qin Sui’an was back home, the relationship between the two families had eased somewhat.

The document in front of Qin Haochen was the contract for the future "reconciliation" project between Qin Corporation and Ye Corporation.

Qin Haochen became even more focused, carefully examining the contents of the document.

It was rumored that there had been changes in the shares of Ye Corporation, but the details were not leaked within the Ye family, and outsiders couldn’t find out anything. The only information available was some vague hints.

Though both families were related to little one, and any money earned would not flow to outsiders, Qin Haochen was thinking that he was working to earn money for little one. It was fine if he earned a little less, but thinking that little one might also earn less...

Qin Haochen pondered deeply, his expression serious as if he were dealing with a tricky matter.

After thinking for a full minute, Qin Haochen picked up his pen and made some amendments to the profit-sharing aspects of the project document.

Having reviewed all the documents, Qin Haochen closed the pen and looked up at the road ahead.

He Yan reacted quickly and reported, "President, we’ll be there in three minutes!"

"Okay." Qin Haochen nodded slightly, his expression relaxing and his tone softening. "The documents are done. I’ll bring them back later for execution."

He Yan promptly replied, "Yes, President!"

Three minutes later, the luxury car smoothly parked at the entrance of Bay Villa.

Before the bodyguards could come to open the car door, Qin Haochen had already pushed it open himself and stepped out.

He strode into Bay Villa, heading directly towards the castle.

At the castle entrance, several bicycles belonging to the Qin family were neatly parked, with the most eye-catching being little one’s cute pink mini bike.

Just looking at the mini bike made one’s lips involuntarily curl into a smile.

Qin Haochen was no exception. Even though he was still some distance from the castle door, his gaze softened as he saw little one’s mini bike. A gentle smile appeared on his lips.

As he approached the castle door, the sound of light, joyful footsteps accompanied by a cheerful call came from inside:

"Daddy’s back~"

The soft, sweet voice reached Qin Haochen’s ears first. The next moment, little one’s adorable figure dashed out from the castle. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Qin Haochen quickened his pace to meet her, crouched down, and opened his arms to securely embrace the tiny, cuddly figure.

"Ann, Daddy’s home." Qin Haochen’s smile deepened, his voice filled with tender affection.

The weariness from a busy day, and even the recently revised document, all felt worthwhile at this moment for little one.

Qin Sui’an could feel her father’s love and also clearly hear his inner thoughts.

Qin Sui’an was extremely happy. She lifted her small face and planted a kiss on her father’s cheek. "Daddy worked hard to earn money~"

Qin Haochen smiled, "Not hard at all."

He didn’t feel tired at all; he was more grateful that he could still help little one earn money.

Qin Haochen hugged little one and kissed her cheek. "Did you have fun visiting your big brother’s temple today?"

"Mmhm, it was fun~" Except for feeling uncomfortable when she heard too many people’s inner thoughts, Qin Sui’an generally enjoyed her time out.

Qin Sui’an’s round, bright eyes sparkled. "There were lots and lots of people without hair like big brother! Daddy, when they saw Ann, they said, ’Amitabha~’"

When she mentioned "Amitabha," Qin Sui’an mimicked the monks, folding her little hands together, bowing her head and bending at the waist.

Qin Haochen was touched by her sweet voice and adorable actions. He couldn’t help but kiss the top of her head. "Ann, you learned it very well."

Qin Sui’an beamed, "Hehe~"

Qin Haochen carried little one and slowly walked into the castle.

Qin Qianyi, who had laughed to his heart’s content in the study, finally came out and was very surprised to see his father back home. He exclaimed, "Dad, don’t you usually get home around six?"

Was Dad skipping work?

Hmph, if he’s skipping work, he shouldn’t be giving me a hard time about skipping class!

Isn’t this blatant double standards?

Qin Haochen glanced at him, and just that look made him guess what was on his mind.

"Missing Ann, so I came home early. Is that not allowed?" Qin Haochen was straightforward.

On the way home, he had already handled the necessary documents. Besides, he had assistant He Yan, so it wouldn’t delay the company’s affairs due to his personal matters.

"Sure, of course." Qin Qianyi didn’t dare to refute.

Qin Sui’an, hearing her brother muttering something she didn’t understand, curiously asked her nearest dad, "Daddy, what does ’double standards’ mean?"

Qin Qianyi was startled.

No, Ann, why did you have to ask that! And to the person with double standards—our father!

Qin Haochen turned to look at the guilty-looking Qin Qianyi. "Care to explain?"

"Uh, double standards mean..." Qin Qianyi racked his brains and awkwardly tried to explain. "It’s like two people racing cars, yes, double racing!"

Qin Qianyi wiped his sweat secretly, quickly making up an explanation, and then hurriedly said, "Oh, I remember I have something to take care of. I’ll handle it now."

He ran off quickly, disappearing from their view in no time.

Qin Sui’an, even more confused by her brother’s explanation, asked, "Two people racing cars?"

"Don’t listen to him." Qin Haochen patiently explained again, "It means having different standards for the same thing depending on who it is."

"Oh~" Qin Sui’an understood and said in her sweet voice, "So Daddy can skip work, but big brother can’t skip class~"
