Chapter 346: Why Did Grandpa and Grandma Do This?

On such an important occasion, Ann really wanted to attend her parents’ wedding. Her innocent and confused words instantly changed the atmosphere in the study from slightly gloomy to lively.

Qin Qianyi was the first to break the mood and laughed out loud. "Hahaha... Ann, that’s a really good question. Really, very good."

He laughed so hard that his stomach hurt.

Qin Niexun’s face also showed a hint of a smile as he looked at Ann and patiently explained, "Because when our parents held their wedding, Ann wasn’t born yet, so you didn’t attend."

"Ann wasn’t born yet?" Qin Sui’an frowned, her little face full of a melancholy that belied her age. She murmured softly, "Then why didn’t Ann get born sooner?"

It was clear what Ann was thinking. She wanted to attend her parents’ wedding, but unfortunately, it was almost impossible for her to do so.

Qin Qianyi laughed enough and wiped the tears from his eyes, comforting her. "Don’t be sad, Ann. Many people haven’t attended their parents’ wedding."

Qin Sui’an looked up at her brother’s smiling face and said, "But all the brothers attended, and Ann didn’t."

Qin Qianyi was struck by a sudden realization. He looked at his fourth brother. "Fourth Brother, does Ann still not know that our parents aren’t our biological parents?"

Qin Sui’an was stunned for several seconds, her large, dark eyes widening in shock that was impossible to hide or conceal. It was as if she had heard something beyond her comprehension, leaving her in a daze.

Seeing Ann so shocked by his younger brother’s words, Qin Niexun found her reaction endearingly cute. He smiled and nodded gently. "It looks like Ann doesn’t know."

The Qin family had never hidden this from the siblings. When Old Mr. Qin and Old Mrs. Qin decided to let them recognize Qin Haochen as their father, they had asked the brothers for their opinions in advance. Although they didn’t know the full reasons behind the decision, to them, it was just a matter of having a nominal father.

None of the brothers were averse to the idea and agreed readily. Qin Qianyi, being the youngest, saw that his brothers agreed and he didn’t dislike Qin Haochen, so he also agreed straightforwardly.

They had speculated that there might be other reasons behind suddenly recognizing Qin Haochen as their father, but since Old Mr. Qin and Old Mrs. Qin didn’t elaborate, it seemed like it was simply to find them a father figure. Eventually, they didn’t dwell on the details.

Seeing Ann still dazed, Qin Niexun gently patted her head and said, "Ann, we are still your brothers, and Qin Haochen is still our father. Whether or not we are biologically related doesn’t affect our relationships."

At just three and a half years old, Qin Sui’an’s little mind spun quickly. She slowly came to terms with the complicated relationship after hearing her fourth brother’s words.

Fourth Brother was right; no matter if they were biological or not, the brothers were still her brothers, and the father was still their father.

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, her little face brightening with a smile. She sheepishly admitted, "Ann didn’t understand earlier~"

Qin Qianyi reached out and gently pinched her chubby cheek. "So, do you understand now?"

"Mmhm!" Qin Sui’an’s eyes curved into happy crescents as she earnestly said, "The brothers could attend Daddy and Mommy’s wedding because the brothers weren’t born yet when Daddy and Mommy got married. Ann wasn’t born yet, so Ann couldn’t attend~"

She patted her little belly with a touch of regret. "Ann didn’t attend Daddy and Mommy’s wedding because Ann wasn’t born yet~"

Qin Qianyi nodded. "Yes, that’s the idea."

"So, Ann doesn’t need to be sad about not attending our parents’ wedding." Qin Niexun smiled and added, "If it were possible, our parents would have wanted you to attend their wedding as well."

But from what they knew, their parents hadn’t been expecting Ann when they got married.

With the weight lifted from her heart, Qin Sui’an felt much better. She looked at her two brothers and tilted her head to ask, "Can Ann attend Fourth Brother and Sixth Brother’s wedding?"

Ann’s question was ambiguous and might make one think her two brothers were getting married.

Qin Qianyi couldn’t help but laugh again, bending over with laughter. "Our two’s wedding, haha... Ann can definitely attend, haha..." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Qin Niexun shot his younger brother a speechless glance.

The laughter was just too lowbrow.

Qin Sui’an looked at her older brother, who was laughing so hard he fell onto the sofa, feeling confused. Even though she could hear his thoughts, she didn’t understand what was so funny.

Qin Niexun took Ann’s little hands, placing them around his neck, and picked her up with one arm. "Don’t mind him, let’s go."

Qin Sui’an quickly said, "Fourth Brother’s hand is injured, Ann can walk by herself."

"It’s fine. I can carry Ann with one arm; she’s very light." Qin Niexun walked slowly towards the study door, opening it with his other hand, which wasn’t completely incapacitated.

Qin Sui’an held her breath, as if not breathing would make her lighter.

Seeing Ann’s little face turning red from holding her breath, Qin Niexun couldn’t help but laugh. "Ann isn’t heavy, not even as heavy as a rifle."

He was referring to a rifle weighing 1,814.3 kilograms, which no one could be heavier than.

Qin Sui’an didn’t understand rifles but remembered that toy guns were very light, even she could lift them.

With this comment, Qin Sui’an no longer worried about her weight making it difficult for Fourth Brother to carry her.

Qin Niexun carried Ann out of the study, while Qin Qianyi continued to laugh uncontrollably in the study.

Meanwhile, Qin Haochen was hurrying towards Bay Villa. In the backseat of the car, with the airplane table unfolded, Qin Haochen was reviewing some urgent documents that needed processing.

His plan was to leave work after the meeting to go home and see little one, but the meeting had been fraught with issues. His urgent desire to get home made the senior management nervous and only added to the errors.

The meeting stretched on for two hours before it finally ended.
