After personally seeing her big brother off to school, Qin Sui’an returned to the dining room, resting her little head on her arms beside her dad, and sweetly asked, "Daddy, what time do you go to work today?"
Qin Haochen couldn’t help but smile at his adorable daughter. Checking the time, he replied gently, "In thirty minutes."
"Yay!" Qin Sui’an’s round eyes lit up with joy.
"Then Ann can stay with Daddy for another thirty minutes!"
The smile on Qin Haochen’s face deepened, but he was curious.
"Aren’t you supposed to play with Third Brother first?" He had overheard little one’s conversation with her brother and knew she planned to play with him first today.
"Yes, Third Brother is first!" Qin Sui’an said earnestly. "But Daddy is different; Daddy doesn’t need to wait, he’s even earlier than first!" As she emphasized her point, the chubby cheeks on both sides seemed to emphasize her words, making her even cuter.
Qin Haochen felt his heart melt at her words and expression, reaching out to ruffle her hair. "Daddy is very happy."
"Ann is happy too~" Qin Sui’an replied in her sweet, soft voice. After quickly finishing breakfast, Qin Haochen played with little one and her toys. When the thirty minutes were up, Qin Sui’an obediently saw her dad off to work.
Watching little one standing at the castle door, Qin Haochen felt a sudden urge to slack off and skip work. Just as that thought crossed his mind, he heard little one’s serious, yet sweet voice say, "Daddy, don’t be lazy! Go to work! Ann will wait for you to come back!"
Qin Haochen couldn’t help but laugh and nodded in agreement. "Okay, Daddy will listen to Ann. Goodbye, Ann."
Qin Sui’an raised her little hand and waved vigorously.
"Goodbye, Daddy~" She watched her tall, handsome father leave until he was out of sight before dropping her hand. Naturally, little one didn’t want to let her dad go to work. With her mother in a deep sleep at the hospital and her unhappy past in the orphanage, Qin Sui’an craved her parents’ company more than anyone else.
Standing at the castle entrance, her little head hung low, the two bodyguards stationed at the door exchanged worried glances.
Is Miss Ann going to cry? What should we do? Should we tell the CEO? The bodyguards prepared to split their duties—one to comfort Miss Ann and the other to contact the CEO.
Suddenly, they saw the despondent Miss Ann take action. She reached out and patted her little belly. After reassuring herself, she turned around and looked up at the concerned bodyguards, saying in a baby voice, "Uncle, Ann didn’t cry. Don’t tell Daddy! Ann is going to find Third Brother to play!"
The two bodyguards were momentarily stunned. Why was Miss Ann comforting them instead? After a moment, they slowly responded, bowing respectfully.
"Okay, Miss Ann."
"Miss Ann, if you need anything, just let us know."
"No need! Ann can do it by herself!" Qin Sui’an patted her belly again, then took her small steps toward the castle. The bodyguards watched anxiously as she entered.
"Should we still tell the CEO?" one asked.
"Let’s listen to Miss Ann," the other replied. If the CEO listens to Miss Ann, then they should definitely obey her.
Qin Lvzheng’s room was on the third floor. Holding onto the handrail, Qin Sui’an climbed step by step, getting tired by the second floor and sitting on the clean floor to rest. After a moment, she resumed climbing to the third floor.
The layout on the third floor was similar to the second, with several rooms for her six older brothers. As soon as she reached the third floor, one of the room doors opened, and out came her big white goose. The goose had heard little Ann’s climbing sounds and, after finishing its morning chanting, immediately quacked insistently for Qin Fujia to let it out.
Qin Fujia noticed it quacking at the door. Although he didn’t understand, he could tell it was eager to go out. The big white goose hurried to little Ann, quacking, "Quack, quack~ Good morning, little Ann!"
"Good morning, big white goose~"
Qin Sui’an patted its fluffy little head. "You’re so good!"
She praised it for following her big brother to chant. Little one didn’t understand why big brother wanted the goose to chant with him, but she knew it was good for the goose.
Hearing Ann’s voice in the corridor, Qin Fujia stepped out of his room. Sure enough, Ann was right there. A smile appeared on his face. "Good morning, Ann." No wonder the big white goose was so eager to get out; it knew Ann was coming.
Qin Sui’an looked toward the sound and saw her big brother, her eyes lighting up as she sweetly called, "Big brother, good morning~"
Qin Fujia walked over, glancing behind her. Just Ann? Who was she looking for?
Qin Sui’an raised a tiny index finger. "Ann made a promise with Third Brother last night, and today I need to find him first to play."
Qin Fujia understood and nodded lightly, pointing in the direction. "Lvzheng is that way; he might still be waking up." He heard that Third Brother had taken on a new case, which might be a bit tricky, so he’d been quite busy.
"Then Ann will wait for Third Brother to wake up." Qin Sui’an didn’t know what taking a case meant or what "tricky" meant, but she understood that her Third Brother was very busy.
This morning, Qin Fujia had been pondering whether Ann’s mind-reading ability would disappear after she woke up. Just as he was about to ask, before he could speak, Ann answered his unspoken question: "Big brother, Ann can still hear everyone’s thoughts when I wake up!" she replied cheerfully.
Qin Fujia smiled, squatting down to rub her little head gently. "Does it still make you dizzy?"
"I’m not dizzy today!" Qin Sui’an hadn’t yet encountered many people at once, unlike yesterday when she heard so many voices in the dining hall. And she didn’t know if hearing many voices would make her dizzy again.
