The law firm wasn’t a place for children to play freely, but Ann was different—she was his sister and could be the exception. Besides, there weren’t many employees at the firm, just clients, so he didn’t worry about Ann’s safety.
Qin Sui’an’s eyes lit up as she looked at her Third Brother, "Can I really go?" She wanted to see where he worked but worried about being a burden. The last thing she wanted was to trouble her family.
"Of course, I’ll take you," Qin Lvzheng said, sensing her interest. He picked her up and headed out of the room, excitement and nervousness bubbling inside him. He almost forgot to eat breakfast and headed straight for the elevator to the garage.
Seeing him press the button for the garage, Qin Sui’an piped up, "But Third Brother hasn’t had breakfast yet!"
"Oh, right," Qin Lvzheng said, snapping back to reality. He switched the button to the first floor instead.
Once they reached the ground floor, he set Ann down in the living room to play while he quickly headed to the kitchen for breakfast, preparing some milk and snacks to take to the firm as well.
He didn’t forget to call his dad. When Qin Haochen answered, he was already at the company, working hard for his little one. Seeing Third Brother’s call, he panicked, thinking something was wrong. "Is Ann okay?"
"Dad, Ann’s fine," Qin Lvzheng reassured him. "I’m taking her to my law firm today, so we won’t be home for lunch. Is that okay?"
Qin Haochen breathed a sigh of relief, but his concern returned as he considered Ann’s age. If she didn’t want to go, her brother wouldn’t push her. After a moment of silence, he agreed, "Sure, just take good care of Ann. Be cautious and remember to bring a bodyguard."
"Got it, Dad."
With his father’s approval, Qin Lvzheng quickly dashed upstairs to Ann’s room, grabbing her cute pink pig backpack and filling it with her milk bottle, milk, and snacks.
In the living room, Qin Sui’an was busy arranging her Barbie dolls, chatting away with the Great White Goose, which was sitting nearby.
"Quack~" the goose seemed eager to join Ann for her outing.
Qin Sui’an’s round eyes sparkled, "I’ll ask Third Brother if the Great White Goose can come too!"
They were going to Third Brother’s workplace, so of course, she had to check.
The goose nodded eagerly, waiting by the living room door for its chance to tag along.
Soon, Qin Lvzheng appeared, holding Ann’s pig backpack. "Ann, I’m done eating. Let’s go."
"Okay~" Ann set her Barbie down and walked over to him.
With the goose looking hopeful, she asked sweetly, "Third Brother, can the Great White Goose come with us?"
Qin Lvzheng looked at the goose. "It?"
The goose blinked its tiny eyes vigorously, as if saying, "I really want to go~ Please take me along!"
Qin Lvzheng hesitated, his expression mixing with uncertainty. He tried to explain gently, "Ann, the Great White Goose is a bird that can’t really go places freely."
Confused, Qin Sui’an blinked, trying to understand what that meant.
But the goose sprang up, excitedly quacking, "Quack! Quack quack!"
While it was true the goose couldn’t digest food like normal animals, it was not an ordinary goose! It had evolved!
The Great White Goose had long moved past dependence on humans, thriving solely on spiritual energy—a pure, natural substance that required no digestion and wouldn’t produce waste.
Qin Lvzheng found the honking overwhelming. "What’s it saying?"
Qin Sui’an translated, "Third Brother, the Great White Goose says it eats spiritual energy and doesn’t produce waste."
"Spiritual energy?" Qin Lvzheng vaguely recalled hearing of it. The goose didn’t need to be fed and could survive without food.
So, it consumed what was termed "spiritual energy," and the word "waste" referred to its droppings.
Skeptically, he scrutinized the goose’s fluffy behind. "Really? It won’t make a mess? I’m not as picky as Second Brother, but I can’t have animals messing around in my office."
This was a matter of the goose’s cleanliness. The Great White Goose jumped excitedly, "Quack!"
"I won’t make a mess! I can’t even!" it insisted.
Qin Sui’an continued as the translator, "The Great White Goose says it won’t mess up and can’t even if it tried; it has evolved!"
"Okay, that’s good to hear." Qin Lvzheng thought back to how the goose often ran around the castle without any mess.
Deciding it would be fine to take the goose, he thought it might even help if something went wrong.
"Alright, then, you can come with us."
He called over a bodyguard to attach a leash to the goose, reminding it, "You’re not familiar with my firm yet, so don’t run off."
Knowing it could go along, the Great White Goose proudly raised its head, allowing him to fasten the leash around its neck.
With everything ready, Qin Lvzheng carried Ann and led the Great White Goose out of the living room.
At the castle entrance, they hopped onto their bicycles, the goose running alongside them as they headed to Bay Villa’s entrance to switch to the car.
Even though the earlier danger had passed, Ann loved riding her bike, so they adhered to the rule of biking only in Bay Villa.
Instead of driving himself, Qin Lvzheng had the bodyguard take them to the law firm.
