Qin Sui’an turned to the sound, her round eyes instantly lighting up as she sweetly called out, "Little uncle~"
After getting permission from his brother-in-law Qin Haochen, Ye Rongyuan had been eagerly anticipating dinner, leaving all work behind at four in the afternoon and heading straight to Bay Villa.
The bodyguards informed him that his niece Ann hadn’t returned home yet, so Ye Rongyuan decided to wait at the entrance.
Upon seeing that adorable little face and hearing her soft voice, Ye Rongyuan couldn’t help but smile broadly.
He even forgot to close the car door as he strode toward Ann, dramatically clutching his chest, "I’m so touched; Ann remembers me!"
"Of course Ann remembers little uncle~" Qin Sui’an said, feeling proud of her memory.
Qin Lvzheng, unsure of Ye Rongyuan’s intentions, eyed him with a guarded expression.
Noticing the unfriendly gaze, Ye Rongyuan raised an eyebrow, "Hey, nephew, why don’t you greet me?"
Despite their similar ages, the family hierarchy was still there.
Feeling a bit flustered, Qin Lvzheng paused for a few seconds before calling out, under Ann’s confused stare, "Little uncle."
"Hey!" Ye Rongyuan cheerfully responded, then reached out his arms, "Come here, Ann, give your little uncle a hug! It’s been days since I held you!"
Qin Sui’an obediently stretched her arms and rushed into her uncle’s embrace.
With his arms suddenly empty, Qin Lvzheng glanced at Ye Rongyuan, who had immediately claimed his sister, unable to find a retort.
Ye Rongyuan ignored Qin Lvzheng’s sour expression and happily rubbed Ann’s little face, "Oh, I’ve missed you so much! Ann, can I stay for dinner tonight?"
"Sure~" Qin Sui’an giggled as he nuzzled her, drawing her little neck back, "Little uncle, didn’t grandma and grandpa, along with big uncle and second uncle, come with you?"
"Nope, I came alone today," Ye Rongyuan conveniently left out that he was using work as an excuse.
Suddenly, he paused, furrowing his brow in confusion, "Big uncle? Ann, have you met your big uncle?"
That was strange; his older brother hadn’t been around for years, and the last time Ann mentioned him, she had asked why he wasn’t there.
Why would Ann bring him up today?
Had she actually met his brother?
Ye Rongyuan was puzzled, looking down at Ann.
Qin Sui’an quickly realized—oh no, she shouldn’t have mentioned big uncle!
Feeling guilty, she avoided eye contact with her little uncle, staring down at her dress and stammering, "Um... um..."
Not fully grasping the situation, Qin Lvzheng noticed Ann’s struggle to speak and timely changed the subject, "Let’s head inside; I’ve taken Ann to work all day, and she’s a bit tired."
Ye Rongyuan turned to Qin Lvzheng, "Ann went to work with you all day?"
Wow! What a fantastic thing!
He was so envious! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
He wanted that too!
Ye Rongyuan immediately turned to Ann, "When are you free to come to work with me? It’s so boring alone; if I had you with me, I’d have so much fun!"
Qin Sui’an smiled with her lips pursed, "Sure! Ann will go to work with little uncle tomorrow!"
Ye Rongyuan’s face instantly lit up, "I’ll remember that, and I’ll pick you up first thing in the morning!"
After saying that, he looked back at Qin Lvzheng, "Nephew, just act as my witness, so Ann doesn’t change her mind after a nap."
Qin Lvzheng looked speechless.
So childish, yet this childish man was still his little uncle.
Qin Sui’an’s small face was serious, "Ann won’t change her mind."
Thinking of the fun they would have tomorrow at Ye Corporation, Ye Rongyuan couldn’t contain his excitement, practically bouncing on his feet.
He heard that at Bay Villa, they didn’t drive, usually opting for bicycles, so he left his Maserati by the entrance and walked into Bay Villa.
On the right side, a neat row of bicycles caught his eye, and he immediately recognized which one belonged to his adorable niece.
He carried Ann over to her cute pink mini bicycle, asking, "Is this your bike, Ann?"
"Yep~" Qin Sui’an replied, raising her little hand to introduce, "Next to it is daddy’s, then big brother’s, second brother’s, third brother’s, and fifth brother’s."
Ye Rongyuan curiously asked, "Are grandpa and grandma, along with your fourth brother, at home? Is that why their bikes aren’t here?"
"Yep~ Little uncle is so smart!" Qin Sui’an nodded vigorously, then pointed toward the castle, "Grandpa, grandma, and fourth brother’s bikes are at the castle entrance; Ann will park hers there too."
While there were no explicit rules against parking elsewhere, they were very conscious about "guarding" their bicycles, knowing losing them would lessen the fun of riding with Ann.
Ye Rongyuan was suddenly in a bind; would he have to run after Ann and Qin Lvzheng as they rode?
He glanced at the row of bicycles and noticed a seat in the back.
Without hesitation, he turned to Qin Lvzheng, "Nephew, I’ll need a ride from you later."
Qin Lvzheng wanted to refuse.
Ye Rongyuan gave him a second option, "Or I can ride you; it’s been years since I rode a bicycle, but I should be fine."
There was no third option.
Qin Lvzheng reluctantly conceded, "I’ll carry you."
"Alright!" Ye Rongyuan set Ann down and helped her pull her bike forward. Watching her ride happily toward the castle, he plopped himself onto the back seat of Qin Lvzheng’s bike.
Qin Lvzheng pedaled hard, never imagining his first passenger would be his little uncle Ye Rongyuan.
Ye Rongyuan found the back seat a bit hard, "Nephew, maybe next time we can switch to a softer seat; this is digging into my butt."
"Little uncle, you could just walk." Why was he complaining when someone was giving him a ride? Did he want a second ride?
"I’m just saying my butt hurts, not that I want to walk," Ye Rongyuan chuckled, patting his shoulder, "Pedal faster; Ann’s getting too far ahead!"
Qin Lvzheng: ...
Qin Sui’an was now riding her bicycle smoothly; the little bike matched her perfectly, and she pedaled quickly, reaching the castle entrance in no time.
She parked her bike next to her grandparents’ and fourth brother’s bicycles, turning around to wait for her third brother and little uncle.
As they drew nearer, she could hear the heartwarming exchange between her third brother and little uncle.
