Chapter 406: On Immaturity, They Lost

Old Mr. Ye quickly said before his wife could get angry, "Why don’t we take it?"

Ye Rongyuan immediately changed his action, smoothly touching his nose, "I’ll take it, of course."

After hearing her old lady’s words, Lucy quickly took out the birthday gift prepared for young lord Bai and handed it to Ye Rongyuan with both hands.

Ye Rongyuan received the gift, feeling extremely reluctant inside, but he knew he had to observe the proper etiquette, especially with Ann watching nearby.

Calming himself, Ye Rongyuan forced a smile, squatted down, and presented the gift to Bai Zhou, "Little brat... cough, Bai Zhou, happy birthday."

Encouraged by his mother’s gentle push, Bai Zhou stepped forward and accepted the gift from the Ye family, "Thank you, Uncle Ye."

Ye Rongyuan maintained his smile, "You should thank him."

Just then, his shoulder was patted by his father, Old Mr. Ye, in a loving gesture. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Old Mrs. Qin’s smile didn’t fade as she called for her grandson, Qin Lvzheng, to bring over the gift.

Qin Lvzheng, more mature than Ye Rongyuan, calmly accepted the gift box from the bodyguard and handed it to Bai Zhou, "Happy birthday."

Short and to the point, no unnecessary words.

Bai Zhou obediently reached out to accept the gift, "Thank you, Uncle Lvzheng."

Bai Aiya visibly relaxed, as if thinking she had finally survived this difficult and awkward moment.

She turned to her husband, Bai Binghua, signaling him it was time to move to the "next stage."

Bai Binghua looked dazed for a second before finally catching her hint, quickly smiling, "Everyone, this way please."

Qin Sui’an held her grandmother with one hand and her grandmother with the other, while her other family members followed behind as they headed towards the main venue of Bai Zhou’s birthday party, the first-floor hall of the Bai family mansion.

The younger generation, Qin Lvzheng, Qin Niexun, and Ye Rongyuan walked at the back, remaining quiet and not interfering, as if they were not familiar with each other, neither initiating conversation.

As they approached the entrance of the hall, Ye Rongyuan paused for a moment, glancing at the two beside him, "Wait, haven’t you called me yet?"

Is there no respect for their elder?

Qin Lvzheng and Qin Niexun both paused simultaneously.

They really forgot about that.

Who told this uncle to look so immature? They had just witnessed his "targeting" of a little brat earlier.

Exchanging glances, Qin Lvzheng and Qin Niexun then called out together, "Uncle!"

"That’s more like it." Ye Rongyuan was satisfied, his lips curling up pleasantly.

He wasn’t a reserved person; now that he opened up, he looked around, "Why are only you two here? Where are my other nephews?"

At this, Qin Lvzheng and Qin Niexun simultaneously smirked.

Qin Niexun explained, "They lost and couldn’t come."

"Oh..." Although unclear on what they "lost," he could roughly guess.

Ye Rongyuan muttered in disdain, "It’s just a party, and they’re making it a competition. So immature; I feel a generation gap with you younger ones."

Qin Lvzheng and Qin Niexun: "......"

In terms of immaturity, they thought they were the ones who lost to him.

At this moment, many people had already arrived in the main hall, and the closer they got, the more they could hear the lively sounds coming from inside.

Qin Haochen had a hint of worry in his eyes, looking at his little one.

In crowded places, he still felt uneasy, whether it was the negative impact the Mind-Reading Skill had brought to his little one or the potential dangers posed by too many people.

Although he had arranged for personnel to be stationed throughout the Bai family mansion, ensuring nothing would happen to his little one.

Qin Sui’an seemed to sense this, stopping in her tracks and looking back, offering her father a bright smile, her big round eyes turning into little crescents.

She said nothing, but her lively, sparkling eyes conveyed all her unspoken words.

The little one wanted her dad not to worry.

Qin Haochen paused for a moment, then slowly smiled back at her gently.

As the Qin and Ye families entered the main hall, the noisy party seemed to hit a pause button; all sounds stopped abruptly, and curious or gossiping eyes turned toward the entrance.

Any member from the Qin or Ye families was enough to make them hesitate to intrude; they could only steal a glance before quickly shifting their gaze to others.

Just a single glance was enough to leave them amazed, astounded by the genes of the Qin and Ye families, who appeared to have received the favor of Nüwa, perfect with not a single flaw.

Including the pampered young lady from both families, only three and a half years old, who could instantly captivate them and hold their gaze.

The young lady was wearing a dazzling little dress, paired with her adorable features and rosy cheeks, utterly charming.

No wonder Mr. Qin treasured his young lady so much; who wouldn’t want to take her home?

Fortunately, Old Mrs. Ye had helped control her granddaughter’s Mind-Reading Skill yesterday; otherwise, Ann would definitely be blushing after hearing everyone’s thoughts.

Qin Sui’an was no longer afraid of any large gatherings; she had participated in many competitions, let alone just Bai Zhou’s party. As others watched her, she curiously looked back at everyone.

Some familiar faces were guests who had attended the Qin family’s banquets and the previous birthday party of Old Mr. Ou, while others were completely new.

At this moment, Bai Aiya was very perceptive; upon sensing a hint of displeasure from the Qin and Ye families, she quickly cleared her throat and smiled at everyone, saying, "Our Bai Zhou is honored to invite Old Mrs. Qin, Old Mr. Qin, Old Mrs. Ye, Old Mr. Ye, Mr. Qin, President Ye, as well as the young lady and two young lords from the Qin family to celebrate his birthday."

Bai Aiya emphasized each name to express her respect and to dispel any previous rumors that the Bai family had offended anyone!

Bai Binghua echoed her, being the first to applaud, "We warmly welcome everyone to celebrate Bai Zhou’s birthday with us."

As he finished speaking, the guests quickly reacted and began to clap.

The guests intended to connect with the Qin and Ye families but lacked the courage. The main hall returned to its previous liveliness, though they occasionally glanced secretly at the Qin and Ye families.

Meanwhile, other invited distinguished guests arrived at the Bai family mansion.

Shu Yao reached out her right hand to her husband, Shi Anye, as they got out of the car. Her gaze instinctively landed on the two eye-catching luxury cars in the parking lot, softly saying to her husband, "Aren’t those the cars of the Qin and Ye families?"
