Qin Sui’an took a few steps back, staring at her grandfather with seriousness in her round eyes, shaking her little head.
"No, it’s not allowed. Grandfather is injured."
Although she was small and thin, her weight could cause more harm to her grandfather’s injuries.
Qin Huo was moved by her actions, realizing that his granddaughter was truly considerate.
He tapped his injured foot with his cane twice and said, "This injury of mine is nothing serious. I can still carry Ann."
Qin Sui’an furrowed her brows, contemplating for a moment before firmly shaking her head.
"No, it’s not allowed."
Qin Huo no longer insisted, understanding that she was concerned about him.
He smiled and said, "All right, if it’s not allowed, then I won’t carry you."
He extended his other hand and asked, "How about holding hands, is that allowed?"
This time, Qin Sui’an happily reached out her small hand and held her grandpa’s large hand, responding with a cheerful tone, "Holding hands is allowed!"
Qin Huo couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Qin Fujia approached and held the umbrella over Qin Sui’an and her grandfather’s heads.
He then softly asked Qin Sui’an, "How did you know that Grandfather woke up?"
He noticed that she suddenly got up and ran when she saw her grandfather approaching the garden.
"Ann heard it," Qin Sui’an pointed at her grandfather’s cane, imitating the sound it made when it hit the ground.
"Tap, tap, tap! That’s Grandfather coming!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Huo felt a comforting sense of being cared for, and his smile deepened.
Qin Fujia also smiled, amazed by Qin Sui’an’s extraordinary hearing ability.
When Grandfather appeared earlier, they were at least a hundred meters away, surrounded by the bustling noise of bodyguards and gardeners.
Despite such circumstances, Qin Sui’an accurately heard the sound of her grandfather’s cane.
Instead of staying in the garden, Qin Sui’an followed her grandfather and Eldest Brother back to the villa.
Before they entered the villa, Qin Fujia received a call from his father, Qin Haochen. "Where is Ann?"
That was the first thing he said. Qin Fujia looked at Qin Sui’an walking ahead and replied, "Dad, Ann is with me."
"Is she still upset?" Qin Haochen asked again.
"No, she’s not."
"That’s good."
Qin Haochen fell silent for a few seconds, then added, "I’ll come home for lunch."
Before Qin Fujia could respond, the call ended with a beep.
Even someone who was used to meditating and chanting Buddha’s name like him couldn’t help but feel speechless about his father’s actions.
Qin Sui’an’s little ears twitched, she stopped walking and turned her head to look at her Eldest Brother behind her, her round eyes filled with anticipation.
"Eldest Brother, was Daddy called?"
"Yes," Qin Fujia put away his phone, slightly bent down, and gently rubbed her small head with his large hand.
"Dad said he’ll come back to have lunch with Ann."
Qin Sui’an happily jumped up and down, cheering, "Yay!"
Her joy infected everyone around her.
Qin Huo smiled and asked, "What would Ann like to eat for lunch?"
"Everything is fine," Qin Sui’an patted her little tummy with her small hand.
"Ann is not picky."
Qin Huo laughed heartily. "Haha... Yes, our Ann is a good girl."
Suddenly remembering something, he turned to Butler Lin, who was following them, and said, "Butler Lin, bring the small gift I prepared in my room."
He almost forgot that he hadn’t given the small gift he brought back for his granddaughter.
"All right, Old Sir," Butler Lin replied and quickly walked towards Qin Huo’s room.
Qin Sui’an curiously watched Butler Lin leave, tilting her head.
"A small gift?"
"Yes, a small gift for Ann," Qin Huo held her hand as they walked slowly into the villa and entered the living room.
Soon, Butler Lin entered the room with an exquisite pink gift box in his arms.
He carefully handed it over, saying, "Sir."
Qin Huo received the gift box and presented it to his granddaughter, "Ann, this, is a small gift that your grandfather and grandmother picked out for you. I wonder if you like it or not."
"I like it! Ann likes it!"
Qin Sui’an reached out and embraced the gift box, rubbing her little face against it.
Even before opening it, she was already very happy.
Qin Huo couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction, "Ann, you liked it even before seeing it?"
"Yes, yes! I really like it!"
Qin Sui’an couldn’t bear to open this beautiful gift box.
With bright eyes, she looked at it and pursed her lips in delight.
"This is the first time Ann has received a gift."
She paused and shook her little head, "No, no, Ann is wrong. It’s the second time."
The first time was when her parents gave her a silver bracelet.
Qin Huo felt a pang of tenderness in his heart.
If it weren’t for that unexpected incident, how many more gifts would their granddaughter have received?
Thinking of this, his eyes became moist.
Qin Fujia seemed to sense his grandfather’s change in mood and gently patted his hand to comfort him.
Qin Huo responded with a reassuring look and wiped the corner of his eye.
Qin Sui’an looked up, blinking her round eyes.
Her focus wasn’t on the gift, though.
"Grandfather, what about grandmother? Where is Ann’s grandmother?"
"Oh, your grandmother is at the estate in F Country," Qin Huo said.
"When your grandmother wakes up, I’ll make a video call for you to see each other."
"Grandmother hasn’t woken up yet?"
Qin Sui’an exclaimed, widening her eyes in surprise as she glanced out the window.
The sun has already climbed high up in the sky.
Grandmother is still sleeping.
"Haha, the sun in F Country has just risen," Qin Huo’s voice regained its laughter as he said.
"Ann, open the gift and have a look. Don’t be reluctant to open it. In the future, Ann will open gifts until her hands get tired."
Qin Sui’an couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to open gifts until her hands got tired.
She blinked her round eyes and mumbled in her sweet voice, "Grandpa, it’s such a beautiful gift box. Ann doesn’t want to ruin it."
"Haha, silly child," Qin Huo laughed again.
"It won’t get ruined. Ann, untie the ribbon on this side, and it will open. After you finish looking at the gift, you can tie the bow again, and the gift box will be beautiful once more."
Qin Sui’an listened attentively, looking puzzled at the gift box in her arms.
"It won’t get ruined?"
"Of course not."
Qin Huo ruffled her little head and encouraged her, "Go ahead, Ann."
With her grandpa’s repeated urging, Qin Sui’an carefully untied one of the pink ribbons.
As the bow unraveled, she paused in her actions.
It was the first time Qin Sui’an had seen such a gift box.
She looked at her grandfather with disappointment and whispered softly, "Grandpa, Ann is foolish."
"Ann is extremely clever, the smartest child," Qin Huo felt his heart ache once again and quickly taught her gently.
"This gift box is a bit special, it looks different from ordinary boxes. Come on, Ann, lift it from the top, and it will open."
