Chapter 45: Seeking Peace and Safety

In her clear eyes, a necklace made of a peace rope reflected a sparkling and translucent red apple pendant.

Her round, big eyes instantly lit up, and Qin Sui’an happily raised her eyebrows and exclaimed in a sweet voice, "It’s an apple!"

She extended her small hand and gently touched it, afraid of damaging the delicate red apple.

Qin Huo, with a doting gaze, looked at his granddaughter.

Seeing her cautiousness, he smiled and said, "This is a small apple carved from a red diamond. Diamonds are the hardest stones in the world, so Ann, you don’t need to worry about breaking it."

Three years ago, during an auction, Qin Huo and his wife instantly fell in love with this beautiful red diamond and spent nearly twenty million dollars to acquire it.

Once they obtained the red diamond, they sought out top diamond carving experts to transform this valuable gem into an apple, symbolizing peace and safety.

Now, after three long years, the red apple finally met its owner.

Qin Huo took the necklace out of the gift box and asked, "Ann, can Grandpa help you put it on?"

Qin Sui’an excitedly nodded her little head, saying, "Yes!"

Qin Huo gently placed the necklace on his granddaughter’s slender neck and said, "There you go."

Qin Sui’an lowered her head, cherishingly touching her little apple, her small face blushing with happiness.

"Thank you, Grandpa. Thank you, Grandma! Ann really loves the little apple."

"It’s good that you like it, it’s good," Qin Huo’s lips curled up, his eyes focused solely on his granddaughter.

This little apple was actually given to his granddaughter three years ago, but an unexpected event prevented its delivery.

Fortunately, his granddaughter returned home safely.

Overwhelmed with emotions, Qin Huo embraced his granddaughter, patting her back with his palm.

His eyes couldn’t hold back the warmth, and tears streamed down his face where she couldn’t see, a mix of joy from regaining what was lost and deep affection and guilt towards his granddaughter.

Qin Fujia silently handed over a handkerchief, his expression also moved.

Qin Sui’an, being held by her grandfather, felt him trembling and asked in confusion, "Grandpa, are you not feeling well?"

Cough... "Yes, a little," Qin Huo suppressed the surging emotions in his heart, took the handkerchief handed by his grandson Qin Fujia, and quickly wiped away the tears from his face.

Sensitive and delicate, his granddaughter, he didn’t want her to see him crying.

Avoiding her gaze, he stood up and said, "Grandfather suddenly has something to attend to upstairs. Fujia, please accompany Ann."

"Okay, Grandfather," Qin Fujia understood in his heart, slightly shielding his grandfather from the inquisitive gaze of little Ann.

Butler Lin approached, carefully supporting Qin Huo as they walked out of the living room.

Qin Sui’an felt that her grandfather’s figure seemed a bit strange.

Worriedly furrowing her little brows, she asked, "Eldest Brother, what’s wrong with Grandpa?"

"Grandpa is very happy that you like the gift from Grandma and Grandpa," Qin Fujia gently held her and his gaze fell on the necklace around her slender neck.

The necklace rope was a seven-color peace rope obtained from a temple, not an ordinary silver or gold chain.

It proved that Grandma and Grandpa only wished for Ann to be safe and sound.

Qin Sui’an caressed the small apple on the necklace with her little hands, then touched the two silver bracelets on her wrist.

At this moment, she felt like the happiest child in the world.

She had the silver bracelets given by her parents and the little apple given by her grandparents.

Qin Fujia was infected by her joyful emotions, and his lips couldn’t help but curl up.

At the same time, a Bentley sped towards the direction of the Bay Villa.

Qin Sui’an’s little ears twitched, and then she looked up, her bright round eyes filled with excitement as she exclaimed in her sweet voice, "Eldest Brother, Ann heard Daddy’s car sounds! Is Daddy coming home?"

Qin Fujia listened carefully, but his hearing couldn’t match that of little Ann, so he didn’t hear any noise.

However, their father had just called and said he would come home for lunch, so the timing seemed about right.

"Maybe," Qin Fujia didn’t question little Ann’s words.

He gently rubbed her little head and lifted her up, saying, "Let’s go outside and have a look."

The two bodyguards standing guard at the villa’s entrance were puzzled when they saw Master Fujia and Miss An’an suddenly coming out, exchanging glances, unsure of their intentions.

Qin Fujia held little Ann in his arms, standing at the entrance, gazing towards the direction of the Bay Villa’s entrance.

Qin Sui’an leaned lightly against her Eldest Brother’s embrace, her round eyes filled with anticipation as she looked in the same direction.

As time passed, after three minutes, a Bentley entered the Bay Villa.

Qin Sui’an cheered happily, "Daddy is home!"

Qin Fujia couldn’t help but smile along, "Yes, Dad is home."

Indeed, little Ann had extraordinary hearing abilities.

The Bentley slowly came to a stop at the main entrance of the villa.

Before He Yan could get out of the car to help Qin Haochen open the door, he noticed that Qin Haochen had already stepped out faster than him.

Qin Haochen seemed impatient, pushing open the car door with swift and steady steps.

Even before the car had fully stopped, he could already see his little girl of joy waiting for him at the villa gate.

How could Qin Haochen remain indifferent to this sight?

Qin Haochen walked briskly towards his little girl of joy, extending his hands, "Ann."

"Daddy!"

Qin Sui’an happily rushed into his embrace, tightly wrapping her arms around his neck.

Her little face rubbed against his neck, "Ann missed Daddy so much!"

Her soft and sweet voice struck a chord in Qin Haochen’s heart.

He smiled, kissing her little face, "Daddy missed Ann too."

After a while of affectionate moments, Qin Sui’an remembered her new necklace.

She pinched the small apple pendant on the necklace and eagerly presented it to her daddy, saying with a playful smile, "Daddy, this is the little apple that Grandpa and Grandma gave to Ann!"

"It’s beautiful," Qin Haochen immediately praised.

The bodyguard stationed at the Bay Villa reported every move and even the smallest details of Ann, ensuring that Qin Haochen knew at all times whether she was happy and safe.

He had also been informed in advance about the necklace incident.

Qin Haochen carefully examined the small apple pendant hanging from the necklace.

His gaze then shifted upwards, and when he saw his daughter’s face glowing with happiness, bearing some resemblance to the little apple, he couldn’t hide the smile in his eyes, "The little apple looks even more beautiful on Ann’s neck."

Qin Sui’an’s round eyes curved into crescents as she patted her little tummy, pursing her lips.

Her soft and gentle voice murmured, "The little apple is beautiful! Ann is beautiful too!"

Inside the dining room, a long table was filled with delicious and exquisite dishes, enticing with their colors, aromas, and flavors.

Qin Haochen placed his little girl of joy in her child’s high chair, arranging her utensils and her exclusive baby bottle.

Qin Huo entered the dining room and took a seat next to his granddaughter.

When Qin Sui’an saw her grandfather, she tilted her little head, her round big eyes fixed on him.

Qin Huo had washed his face and briefly refreshed his eyes upstairs, but being stared at by his granddaughter like this made him feel a bit uneasy.

Just as he was contemplating what to say to divert his granddaughter’s attention, the hand resting on the armrest of the chair was gently held.

Qin Huo was momentarily stunned, his gaze shifting to the small hand holding his own.
