Chapter 68: Even Her Biological Brother Favors Qin Sui’an

Qin Qianyi leaned in front of Ann and whispered, "Give me some face, Ann."

Upon hearing this, Qin Sui’an changed her tone in a childish manner, "Sixth Brother can play!"

But not very skillfully!

This time, she gave her Sixth Brother a lot of face and refrained from saying the rest of her words.

After Qin Sui’an finished speaking, she tilted her little face and blinked her round eyes cutely at her Sixth Brother.

Qin Qianyi couldn’t help but smile when he saw her adorable expression.

He reached out and ruffled her little head, saying, "Oh, our Ann is so lovely!"

Qin Fujia also raised the corners of his lips and looked at Ann in his arms with a smile in his eyes.

The harmonious and affectionate scene of the three siblings from the Qin family was quite glaring in the eyes of Shao Xinxin.

Her hands involuntarily clenched into fists, and her envy and jealousy were almost impossible to conceal.

Shao Xinxin was not the only child of the Shao family; she had an Eldest Brother, Shao Yun, who was exactly ten years older than her.

The Shao family intended for Shao Yun to inherit the Shao Corporation, but he disregarded the family’s advice and was determined to become a professional esports player.

Now, he had already fallen out with his family.

Shao Xinxin often heard her mother, Shen Shuwen, scolding her brother Shao Yun for neglecting his responsibilities and being a rebellious teenager addicted to games.

She also looked down on her brother in her heart, thinking he was foolish for choosing games over the corporation.

The relationship between the siblings had always been strained.

In her previous life, Shao Yun severed ties with the Shao family and made a name for himself in the esports world.

By chance, he recognized Qin Sui’an as his adopted sister.

He treated Qin Sui’an even better than his own sister, Shao Xinxin.

Qin Sui’an seemed to be the most dazzling protagonist wherever she went, always carrying the aura of a leading lady.

Even her own brother, Shao Yun, had been captivated by Qin Sui’an.

The images in her mind seemed to overlap with what she was seeing now.

Shao Xinxin gritted her teeth, her fists clenched tightly, and her nails dug deep into her palms, reminding her to remain composed and not reveal any clues at this moment.

She took a deep breath, put on a smile, and interrupted the harmonious scene of the three of them, saying, "Ann’s chess skills are indeed impressive. I even lost to Ann."

Qin Qianyi glanced at her sideways and sneered, "Oh, so now you admit that you lost to our Ann?"

Weren’t you just denying it a moment ago? "Brother Qianyi..."

Shao Xinxin’s eyes reddened slightly, and she said with a hint of grievance, "I didn’t refuse to admit it. I was just surprised. Ann is only three and a half years old, yet her chess skills are so amazing."

Pausing for a moment, she seemed extremely curious and looked at Qin Sui’an, asking, "Ann, did someone teach you how to play chess in the orphanage?"

Qin Sui’an gently shook her little head, "There were no chess pieces to play within the orphanage."

Not only were there no chess pieces but there were hardly any toys to play with in the orphanage.

"Ah? Not even chess pieces?" Shao Xinxin’s eyes flashed with delight.

The more miserable Qin Sui’an’s life was, the happier she felt.

Shao Xinxin pretended to sympathize and comforted, "Ann, don’t be sad."

Qin Sui’an lowered her gaze and said, "Okay, Ann is not sad."

Feeling her little sister Ann’s suddenly downcast mood, Qin Fujia touched her little head and changed the subject, "If Ann is interested in chess pieces, I can enroll you in an interesting class."

"Interest class?" Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes in confusion.

"Eldest Brother, what’s an interest class?"

Before Qin Fujia could answer, Shao Xinxin interjected, "It’s like a training class. Mommy enrolled me in one, and I attend two sessions per week."

Qin Qianyi glanced at the chessboard and chuckled, "Eldest Brother, I think it’s better to forget about it.

Some people, even after attending training classes, still can’t match our Ann in chess skills."

Shao Xinxin’s expression froze for a moment. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Qin Qianyi almost named names when he said "some people", and the answer was quite obvious.

Suppressing her inner anger, she looked at Qin Sui’an and asked, "Ann, if nobody taught you chess in the orphanage, then how did you learn?"

Shao Xinxin never believed in child prodigies; she only felt that Qin Sui’an was pretending to be ignorant, acting like she didn’t know anything when in fact, she knew everything and excelled at everything.

Qin Sui’an raised her round eyes and glanced at her Sixth Brother, then at her Eldest Brother.

It was taught to her by the old man, but she couldn’t reveal it.

She pursed her lips and silently lowered her little head.

Shao Xinxin noticed her hesitation in answering her question, and a hint of satisfaction flickered in her eyes.

She knew for sure that someone had been teaching Qin Sui’an!

Those claims of a genius prodigy were nothing but nonsense!

Qin Fujia knew very well that it was that filthy creature who taught their little Ann how to play chess.

He gently embraced Ann’s small body and spoke softly, "Regardless of who taught Ann to play chess, we cannot deny that our Ann is intelligent and learned it quickly."

Qin Sui’an lifted her little face and met the trusting gaze of her Eldest Brother.

He didn’t blame her for not answering and even praised her for being clever.

Her tightly pursed lips slowly curved into an adorable smile.

Qin Sui’an reached out her small hand and hugged her Eldest Brother, saying, "Thank you, Eldest Brother!"

"Good girl," Qin Fujia said affectionately as he lifted her up.

"The sun isn’t too hot outside, let’s go to the garden."

He carried Ann and walked out of the living room.

Qin Qianyi deliberately lagged behind them for a few seconds, then turned to look at Shao Xinxin, who was sitting motionless on the sofa.

"Shao Xinxin, why do I feel like you have some ulterior motive towards our Ann?"

Initially, he didn’t pay much attention to Shao Xinxin’s behavior, but ever since the mention of their grandparents, he keenly sensed that Shao Xinxin’s every word and action seemed to be directed at their Ann.

"Brother Qianyi, I really like little Ann," Shao Xinxin pouted with a hint of grievance, asking softly, "Brother Qianyi, do you not like me? Or did I do something bad to Ann? Did I say something wrong to her?"

Qin Qianyi furrowed his brows and scrutinized her for a moment.

She appeared innocent, and she was only six years old.

A six-year-old child shouldn’t have so many ulterior motives.

"Fine, let’s just say I misunderstood you," Qin Qianyi withdrew his gaze.

"But I must warn you in advance, Ann is my sister. If you dare to bully her, your fate will be the same as your mother’s."

Shao Xinxin clenched her fists tightly.

"Ann is so well-behaved, I would never bully her."

"I hope so," Qin Qianyi ignored her and quickly caught up with his Eldest Brother and Ann.

In the living room, Shao Xinxin was once again left alone.

Qin Qianyi’s unwavering support for Qin Sui’an reminded her of her own Eldest Brother.

If her brother had even half the protective nature of Qin Qianyi, she wouldn’t despise her own brother so much.

Shao Xinxin gritted her teeth and after a while, she suppressed the surging emotions in her heart.

She stood up and walked in the direction where the siblings had left.

Lan Jin and Qin Huo hadn’t returned home yet, but they should be back soon.

If she remembered correctly, the necklace that Qin Sui’an was wearing around her neck was the one they had given her.

Shao Xinxin’s footsteps paused for a moment as she thought of a new plan, and a barely noticeable smile appeared on her lips.
