It’s Su Mo!
"Don't make any noise." He whispered, his breathing disordered.
Su Muyan nodded, her eyes falling on her left shoulder which was bleeding, the despair in her eyes was even greater than before.
The temple door was blown open with a creaky sound, and the light of the torch danced on the threshold.
Su Mo used his last bit of strength to push Su Muyan to the back of the shrine, and then he rolled under the altar covered with rags.
"Report to the commander, there is no one in the temple!"
"Bullshit!" Heavy footsteps stepped into the door, splashing the accumulated water outside the house into the temple.
The man's cold voice was filled with certainty: "This cushion is still wet. Someone just knelt on it!"
Su Muyan covered her lips tightly with both hands. Through the gap in the shrine, she saw several men in black robes using the tips of their knives to pry open any veil that might hide someone.
Just as the tip of the knife was about to touch the tablecloth, Su Mo suddenly jumped out from under the table and stabbed the officer's throat with the dagger!
"There's an ambush!" Or perhaps it was an overly loud roar.
Su Mo, who was already seriously injured, fought with the people who were chasing him.
In the chaos, Su Muyan saw Su Mo's thigh pierced by a spear, but he managed to break the spear shaft and inserted the broken blade into the eye socket of the nearest soldier.
"Hurry up!" He roared with blood in his mouth, his shrill voice filled with determination. "Run to the southeast... Our people are there..."
The officer's sword was already raised high. The last thing Su Muyan saw through her tearful eyes was that Su Mo was stabbed in the chest. At the same time, the dart in his hand grazed the throats of the two remaining pursuers.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Another burst of rapid horse hooves sounded.
Su Muyan didn't bother to look at who the person was. She rushed into the rain in panic and ran in the southeast direction that Su Mo said.
The rain was so heavy that Su Muyan could not see anything except the vaguely visible road in front of her.
It seemed as if the only sounds left between heaven and earth were the sounds of wind, rain, and beating hearts.
No! There's also the sound of horse hooves getting closer and closer behind me!
She turned her head in panic and looked behind her, and saw a man riding a horse galloping towards her in the rain.
Suddenly my foot slipped.
"ah--"
She rolled down the slope by the roadside, and the thorny bushes on the roadside scratched her delicate skin.
Fortunately, the breakthrough was not very high. Although he suffered numerous skin injuries, they were not fatal.
"Whoa--" came the sound of a man reining in his horse.
Su Muyan hid in the thorn bushes at the bottom of the slope. She felt pain and cold all over. She clenched her teeth and dared not make any sound.
Praying in my heart: Didn’t find me, didn’t find me, didn’t find me!
"Mu Yan, come out." A familiar male voice came, the tone was gentle, "I know you are nearby."
Hearing Zhao Ju's voice, Su Muyan was filled with anger and hatred that made her want to jump out and kill him on the spot!
But if she goes out, not only will she not be able to kill the other party, but she will also be captured and tortured by the other party.
Zhao Ju's gentle voice was filled with temptation: "Good Yan'er, don't hide. Don't you want to see your brother one last time?"
Hearing this, Su Muyan was stunned. The next moment, her heart felt like someone was pulling and tugging at her, making her feel suffocated and painful.
Time stood still for a few seconds.
Su Muyan subconsciously wanted to stand up and ask for clarification, but she was afraid that the other party was trying to defraud her, so her whole body was stiff and she couldn't move.
There was a sound of friction coming from the thorn bushes.
It’s so close!
Su Muyan suddenly looked up and met Zhao Ju's gloomy eyes.
The next moment their eyes met, Zhao Ju's eyebrows turned into a gentle smile.
"Be good, don't hide. You're all wet and you'll get sick." He bent down and picked up Su Muyan horizontally. He lowered his eyes to see the blood on her body and the torn clothes. The scars on her fair skin were clearly visible.
"How did you get yourself into such a mess? I'll take you back to treat your injuries."
"No! I don't want to go back with you!" Su Muyan finally came to her senses and collapsed in his arms, struggling and shouting, "You...you let me go! I beg you...please let me go!"
Zhao Ju paused, put her down, but held her frail body with his hands like iron clamps.
A flash of lightning illuminated his now dark and gloomy face.
His tone was gloomy, with obvious anger hidden in it. "I came all the way from the capital to find you, and I didn't dare to close my eyes and rest for a moment. Do you know how I have been spending these days?!"
Su Muyan shrank back in fear from his presence, forcing herself to raise her chin with composure, and said in a resolute tone, "You are the one who is wishful thinking and insists on marrying me! I told you, I don't want to marry you!"
Hearing this, Zhao Ju pinched her slender neck with his right hand, and was so angry that he wanted to strangle this heartless woman to death right now.
But the hand holding her neck couldn't bear to use force, for fear of really hurting her and making her hate him even more.
"You don't want to marry me? You're already my woman, and your Su family has accepted my betrothal gifts, yet you ran away?" Zhao Ju laughed in anger, his voice becoming softer. "Do you think you can escape?"
Tears and rain mixed together, blurring Su Muyan's vision. She still refused to give in and said, "I'd rather die than marry you!"
"Good, very good." Zhao Ju laughed softly, "It seems I have indulged you too much."
Su Muyan suddenly had a bad premonition, and the creepy feeling made her scalp tingle.
The next moment, Zhao Ju loosened his grip on her neck, picked her up by the waist, and threw her onto the horse's back.
Before Su Muyan could react, Zhao Ju jumped on the horse, held her in his arms with both hands, lowered his head and whispered in her ear: "Be good, don't act like a fool, otherwise I will have the wedding night ceremony with you in this heavy rain today."
