Chapter 325 Su Muyan 12

In early summer, rain and sunshine can appear at the same time.

As soon as the rain stopped, only the blood-red setting sun remained in the western sky, dyeing the window frames of the abandoned farmhouse dark red.

Su Muyan followed behind Su Mo and saw a small wooden house standing quietly in the forest under the light and shadow.

He frowned and asked, "Is that the secret contact point of your Shadow Guards in front?"

"Yes." Su Mo explained, "In a forest like this, there will be hunters who will settle down. Moreover, compared to the city, the location is more conducive to our concealment and vigilance against the surrounding movements."

As they were talking, the two men had already dismounted.

"Something's wrong." Su Mo suddenly reached out to stop Su Muyan, his nose twitching slightly, "There's a smell of blood."

He looked towards the eaves, where three strings of dried chilies should have been hung, but now only two were left hanging crookedly.

Su Muyan saw that Su Mo's hand was already on the dagger at his waist, and looked around with full vigilance.

He stood guard beside Su Muyan, and lowered his voice very low: "Miss, follow me closely."

Su Muyan said "hmm" very lightly, and followed Su Mo closely, keeping a distance from him.

The two men walked to the gate cautiously. As soon as they pushed it open, the stench of decay mixed with the smell of rust hit them in the face.

Su Muyan covered her mouth and nose, frowned, and saw in the last rays of the setting sun that the tables and chairs were overturned, there were seven or eight fresh knife marks on the wall, and there was a pool of black blood on the ground.

Su Mo seemed to have noticed something was wrong in the room and turned around quickly: "Let's go!"

Almost at the same time, the crisp sound of dead branches breaking was heard outside the yard.

Five masked men in black came out from the hidden corner and surrounded Su Muyan. The silver-white knives in their hands pierced Su Muyan's eyes, making them dazzled.

"Who are you?" Her voice trembled, and she unconsciously took a few steps back, her back resting against Su Mo's solid chest.

The men in black didn't answer her. The one in the front growled, "Go! Master, let's capture him alive!"

Su Mo grabbed her waist and spun around, leading Su Muyan away from the direction where the man in black was rushing towards him, while the dart in his hand flew out at the same time.

One of the men in black reacted a little slower and was hit in the shoulder by the dart thrown by him.

"Miss, run!" Su Mo's voice suddenly sounded in her ears.

After shouting this, Su Mu raised his sword and rushed towards the men in black.

Su Muyan was stunned for only a moment, then reacted and hurriedly rushed to the path on the side, her ears filled with the sharp sound of swords clashing.

As she ran, she looked back for a moment and saw that Su Mo's sleeve had been cut. A bloodstain meandered down his forearm, leaving a blood-red mark on his wet clothes.

As if it was a tacit understanding that had been with them all the way, Su Mo looked up at her in a critical moment and shouted at her urgently, "Miss, run! Run to the woods!"

After saying that, he spun around, slashed the attacker's face with the sword in his hand, and pierced the attacker's throat with his backhand.

A silver light flashed in the sky, followed by a loud "boom" and thunder.

The rain, which had stopped for half a day, fell down again, and heavy rain mixed with strong winds came.

Su Muyan didn't dare to delay any longer and ran towards the dense forest next to her, taking one step forward and one step back.

This place was not often visited by people, and the thorns on the ground tore at her skirt, leaving fine blood marks on her ankles.

The sounds of fighting behind him gradually faded away, and it seemed that the only sounds in the world were the sound of the wind whistling through the branches and the sound of raindrops hitting the dense forest.

There was also the "bang bang bang" sound of her heart beating wildly due to nervousness and fear.

Su Muyan ignored the pain in her body and her fear of the darkness, and ran wildly without stopping for a moment.

She didn't know how long she ran.

Until everything in front of me became clear.

A flash of lightning split the sky, illuminating a small temple ahead.

The faded yellow flags fluttered in the strong wind. At the broken wooden door, the statues in the house flickered in the lightning, like the blinking of a ghost.

She staggered into the temple, the creaking sound of the rotten wooden boards under her feet sounding particularly harsh in the rainy night.

There was a thick layer of incense ash on the altar. Next to the three shriveled offerings, there was a small piece of the head missing from the mottled clay body of the Earth God. At this moment, his empty eyes were looking down at her.

Su Muyan knelt down shivering, and the rain dripped down her hair onto the faded futon.

The fear in her heart reached its peak at this moment. Even the land god that everyone respected and worshipped looked like a devil from hell, with a hideous face in her eyes.

"Yes, I'm sorry... My disciple Su Muyan... No, I didn't mean to disturb you..."

She spoke in a broken voice, her voice trembling like a sieve out of fear and fatigue.

Suddenly, a sound of horse hooves, different from the sound of rain, came from afar.

Su Muyan's blood froze in an instant. She quickly got up and hid in the corner behind the statue.

She bit her lips tightly, her heavy breathing quickened due to nervousness, and the water droplets on her face could not be distinguished whether they were rain or tears, which slowly converged at her pointed chin and dripped onto the ground.

The air around was filled with despair and oppression. Su Muyan tried her best to suppress her choked sobs and did not dare to make any sound.

The chaotic footsteps of horses were getting closer and clearer. It was obvious that there was more than one horse outside!

Suddenly, a cold male voice came out.

"Search! Don't leave any bush untouched!"

Su Muyan clenched the corners of her clothes tightly with both hands, her fingers, pale from the cold, trembling, and suppressed sobs accompanied her breathing, as if stuck in her throat, making it difficult for her to breathe smoothly.

Suddenly, a muddy hand covered her mouth.

Su Muyan widened her eyes in horror as she met a face covered in blood.
