Chapter 9 Prince Yi Arrives

Jiang Luoluo covered her sore nose, tears welling up in her eyes. She couldn't fight back, and she couldn't run away. What else could she do? Although the original owner's father was a famous general, she hadn't learned any martial arts skills from him.

She looked up at Xie Yizhi, her nose twitching as she said, "Your Highness Prince Yi?"

Xie Yizhi pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his sleeve; it contained a letter written by Jiang Luoluo:

Lai Jun's heart trembled slightly.

Take the mirror and put on your clothes to wait for the cold moon.

A smile amidst war, and glory fades away.

The sound of the talisman is hard to convey, and dreams come without reason.

Jiang Luoluo naturally recognized that this was an acrostic poem he had written for Xie Yizhi, in order to obtain the military tally.

Looking at the cruel and tyrannical Prince Yi, she saw a hint of mockery in her eyes, "Writing love poems to other men behind her fiancé's back?"

Jiang Luoluo opened her mouth, "You?", but found herself unable to refute.

To avoid being seen by others, she was very careful and wrote a love poem about a woman's love for a man. Moreover, she needed Prince Yi's assistance and was eager to cooperate with him.

Jiang Luoluo ground her back teeth hard, secretly thinking to herself, "If I ever catch you, Prince Yi, doing anything wrong, I'll stand on the table and laugh three times to vent my anger."

Jiang Luoluo tiptoed and stretched out her arm to reach for the paper. Xie Yizhi chuckled and raised his hand slightly, raising it even higher. Suddenly, he lost his balance, and Jiang Luoluo's warm lips accidentally touched Xie Yizhi's chin.

Xie Yizhi hurriedly took a step back, and Jiang Luoluo almost tripped on the threshold before he could react. Luckily, he grabbed the door frame and managed to stand up.

"I'm not Gu Boyuan; I'm not going to throw myself at you on our first meeting." Xie Yizhi folded the letter and slowly put it back into his purse, then put the purse into his inner pocket.

Jiang Luoluo was on the verge of tears. She wished she could disappear into a hole in the ground right now. She coughed twice and said awkwardly, "Your Highness Prince Yi, it was an accident, a complete accident."

Xie Yizhi stretched out his long hand, his voice carrying an undeniable domineering and forceful tone, "Give me the military tally."

A cold wind blew, sleeves fluttered, and a row of neat teeth marks were clearly visible on the back of the hand.

Jiang Luoluo then realized that in the fire, she had bitten Xie Yizhi. She had bitten that cold-blooded, ruthless, cruel, and bloodthirsty Prince Yi, and had even gnawed on his chin. Prince Yi hadn't even settled the score with her yet.

Jiang Luoluo felt a chill run down his spine, and his blood seemed to freeze instantly. He was afraid that Xie Yizhi might get angry and cut him with a knife.

She feigned composure, revealing the military tally lying in her palm, her eyes clear. "Your Highness Prince Yi's acceptance of this military tally proves that we have reached a consensus on cooperation. During the cooperation period, both sides must protect each other and must not kill each other."

Xie Yizhi curled his lips into a smile. He really was precocious for his age, coming prepared. He held out his hand and said, "Okay!"

Jiang Luoluo breathed a long sigh of relief. She hadn't expected that the ruthless demon king who was rumored to be so ruthless wasn't so difficult to talk to after all.

She placed the military tally in Xie Yizhi's palm. The girl's soft, boneless hand gently touched Xie Yizhi's palm, like a feather brushing against it, a tingling, ticklish sensation.

Xie Yizhi took the military tally and left.

As night fell, flames soared into the sky.

The fire was raging and the noise was deafening. Even the side room was scorching hot. Jiang Luoluo hurriedly turned back, took out some makeup powder and applied a thick layer to her face. She took off her shoes and ran out.

"Father! Mother!" Jiang Luoluo cried her heart out, her body swaying as if she were about to rush into the fire.

Dingdang held Jiang Luoluo tightly with both hands and loudly advised, "Miss, the fire is too big. Master and Madam are already on fire."

Gu Boyuan and his group rushed over, shouting, "Quick, quick, put out the fire! Put out the fire!"

Everyone rushed forward, carrying buckets and basins, to put out the fire.

Yao Shiyu watched all this with a smile in her eyes. It was truly heaven's help. Burn it all, burn it all to ashes, that would be even better. It would be best if Jiang Luoluo was also driven to death with anger, then she would save herself a lot of trouble.

The fire burned for a full hour before it was extinguished, leaving the entire courtyard in a state of chaos.

"Reporting to the young general, the coffins of the general and the military doctor Duan have all been burned to ashes and cannot be found."

One of the soldiers reported this.

A hush fell over the scene. Gu Boyuan's hands trembled. "How did it suddenly catch fire?"

Jiang Luoluo rushed up to Liu Dayong and punched him hard in the head. Liu Dayong was dazed and confused before he came to his senses.

Jiang Luoluo's hair was disheveled, her face pale and streaked with tears. She grabbed Liu Dayong's collar and angrily accused him, "My father treated you well, why did you set fire to the mourning hall? Who ordered you to do it?"

Gu Boyuan looked puzzled and walked towards Jiang Luoluo, with Yao Shiyu following closely behind.

Liu Dayong spat, "The victor is king, the loser is villain. Now that I'm in your hands, whether I live or die is entirely up to you."

Having already taken up arms, Xie Yizhi found a grand chair in the courtyard and sat down, his voice as cold as a blade, "Mo Feng, help Miss Jiang."

Mo Feng clasped his hands and stepped forward, saying, "Yes, Your Highness."

Only then did everyone notice that there were three more people in the courtyard. The man on the armchair looked to be no more than twenty years old, but he had an innate sense of majesty and domineering presence. The two guards with swords beside him exuded an aura of iron-bloodedness.

When Gu Boyuan followed Jiang Chengfeng into the palace, he had the good fortune to meet Xie Yizhi once. From that moment on, he longed to become a spirited young general like Xie Yizhi, so he naturally remembered Xie Yizhi.
