Chu Qian and the others were getting on in years and were exhausted after a long day. The elders exchanged a few words upon arrival and then went to rest. The aunts didn't live with the elders; they each had their own careers. To show their respect for their uncle's family, the two daughters-in-law had put aside their work and made a special trip back. The two sons, however, were busy with their duties and hadn't had time to come back.
"Sis, Jiaojiao, my brother and I will take you guys to have some fun later. We'll go to a club owned by our own people, it'll be very safe," Xia Yiyang said happily to Chu Xingyue.
"What, are these clubs in Kyoto not very safe?" Chu Jiaojiao asked.
"Since you're new here, some of these clubs have underworld connections. They're filthy inside; anything can happen. The place we're going to is clean; these people wouldn't dare to do anything there unless they wanted to die. It's run by a few of my brothers." Chu Xingyue could tell it was probably run by several second-generation rich kids.
"An'an, let's go, let's go! We haven't seen it before, so let's have Xiao Yang take us to see it!" Chu Jiaojiao said excitedly.
"What Xiao Yang? I'm your older brother, you rude brat!" Xia Yiyang snapped.
"You're Xiao Yang, little lamb. Once you can beat me, I'll call you brother." Chu Jiaojiao stood on tiptoe and hugged Xia Yiyang's neck. Her words made Xia Yiyang lower his voice, "Anyway, you're my sister, so you're my sister."
The car stopped, and Chu Jiaojiao, who got out, opened her mouth wide, tilted her head back, and muttered to herself, "Wow, no wonder this place is called that. Just look at this huge storefront, it's really luxurious." She sniffed the air and said with a look of intoxication, "This smells like money."
Chu Xingyue watched Chu Jiaojiao's antics with amusement, "Alright, they're waiting for us."
The manager at the entrance saw Xia Yiyang approaching and hurried over with a beaming smile. "Young Master Xia, what brings you two, Young Masters Chu, here today?" The Chu family members were in the military, and although they rarely frequented such clubs, recognizing people was an essential skill for them. Looking at the two unfamiliar girls following behind, Xia Yiyang, fearing the manager might misunderstand, quickly said, "I'm bringing my sister and younger sister to have some fun today." "Welcome, beautiful ladies," the manager said perceptively, bowing as he ushered them inside.
Chu Xingyue followed behind with her hands in her pockets, while Chu Jiaojiao and Xia Yiyang chattered and bickered beside her. Chu Yanzhi and Chu Le walked ahead, amused by the bickering of the two youngest children in the family.
Behind the glass of the private room on the second floor, Li Si and his group had already finished a round of drinks and were chatting idly.
In the brightly lit hall, Chu Jiaojiao, finding everything novel, looked around. Xia Yiyang rested his chin on Chu Jiaojiao's shoulder and said, "So, is this your first time meeting him? Call me 'brother,' and I'll bring you again next time." Chu Jiaojiao nudged him with her elbow.
"Ugh," Xia Yiyang said, clutching his chest. "Can't you be a little gentler like Sister An'an?" Chu Jiaojiao glanced at him sideways and muttered dismissively, "An'an is much more ruthless than me."
The manager led everyone to a more secluded booth. "Young Master Xia, we've prepared some snacks, fruit platters, and drinks for you. Ladies, you can try our homemade milk tea." Chu Xingyue smiled and nodded. "Sure, thank you." "No trouble at all. It's my honor to serve you ladies. Please wait a moment, we'll serve you shortly."
Chu Jiaojiao whispered to Chu Xingyue, "An'an, why don't we get some wine? Why come to a place like this and drink milk tea instead of alcohol?"
"I'll drink with you until we get home. We're new here, so we should be careful in a place like this."
Chu Xingyue looked at the men and women swaying to the music not far away. In the dim light, people always take off their daytime masks and relax.
