Extra 2: Tao Jing Satsuki's "Fatal" Bento

Teiko Middle School.

Basketball hall.

The practice match that just ended seemed like the aftermath of a fierce battle.

Everyone from Yin Yue and the 'Generation of Miracles' were sweating profusely at this moment, with beads of sweat sliding down their cheeks, wetting their uniforms and sticking tightly to their backs and chests. But even so, there was no sign of fatigue in their expressions. After all, such high-intensity training and confrontation was just an ordinary thing they had to do every day, and they had long been accustomed to it.

At this moment, the clock hand pointed to noon. The sunlight poured in through the tall windows of the basketball hall, forming bright spots on the ground, as if the entire venue was covered with a layer of golden gauze.

Tao Jing Mayu stood quietly at the edge of the court, like a delicate flower blooming in spring.

Her eyes were sparkling, as if hiding thousands of stars, and her gaze was always following Yin Yue on the field. In her hand, she held tightly a carefully prepared lunch box, as if it was her most precious treasure.

Her heart was full of anticipation, and she was looking forward to handing this thoughtful lunch box to Yinyue, so that Yinyue could taste the food she had made herself.

As soon as the whistle for the practice match sounded, Taoi Satsuki was like a happy little bird, and couldn't wait to walk quickly in the direction of Yin Yue.

There was an eagerness that was hard to conceal in her light steps. When she came in front of Yin Yue, a sweet smile instantly blossomed on her face. That smile was as bright and moving as the warm spring sun. She spoke in a clear and pleasant voice.

"Yin Yue, I made a lunch box today, please try it."

The tone was full of anticipation and pride, and the eyes were shining with a desire for recognition, as if waiting for an extremely important response.

When Yin Yue heard this, she was stunned at first, and the scenes of Qingfeng complaining about the bento made by Taoi Satsuki countless times in the past suddenly appeared in her mind like a movie.

Qingfeng's excited and vivid description described Taoi Satsuki's bento as the most terrifying "dark cuisine" in the world. The ingredients were so burnt that you couldn't tell them apart, and the smell was so weird that it made people want to vomit. All these descriptions made Yinyue afraid of this bento. Just thinking about it made her stomach tighten unconsciously and she felt uncomfortable.

But at this moment, looking at Tao Jing Wuyue's eyes full of expectation, those eyes are clear and sincere, like a clear spring, making people unable to bear to destroy the beauty in them.

The words of refusal came to my lips, but seemed to be blocked by something and I couldn't say them.

Yin Yue hesitated for a moment, but finally gritted her teeth, stretched out her hand and took the lunch box. However, she secretly groaned in her heart, thinking that she might be "putting herself in danger".

He could clearly feel the strange looks from the people of the Generation of Miracles around him. In those looks, there was sympathy, curiosity, and more often, a kind of gloating.

Yin Yue took the lunch box and walked slowly to a bench nearby with heavy steps and sat down. Each step she took was quite difficult, as if she was carrying a heavy burden on her back.

After he sat down on the bench, he took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling violently with his breathing. He looked as if he was about to face a major challenge concerning life and death. He was so nervous that a fine layer of cold sweat even appeared on his forehead.

Under the unanimous gaze of everyone filled with various complex emotions, he slowly stretched out his slightly trembling hand and slowly opened the lid of the lunch box.

As the lid was lifted little by little, the air around it seemed to freeze. Everyone held their breath, staring at the lunch box intently, waiting for the "answer" to be revealed.

In an instant, a strong and pungent smell of burning came like a surging tide and instantly filled Yin Yue's nostrils.

The smell was so strong that he couldn't help but frown. His facial features were slightly distorted because of the strange smell, showing an expression of pain and helplessness.

He suppressed his discomfort and looked into the lunch box, only to see a scene inside that could only be described as “horrific”.

The various ingredients seemed to have experienced a tragic "catastrophe". They had been overcooked to the point where they had completely lost their original appearance and were mixed together in a black mass, making it difficult to distinguish them.

The rice seemed to have been baked for a long time by a merciless fire. It had formed into hard lumps, sticking together lifelessly and presenting a hopeless black color. There was no trace of its original distinct, crystal-clear appearance.

The vegetables that should have been fresh, green, full of life and vitality now look like the remnants of a fire. They have become charred and shriveled, and their originally plump leaves have become dry and curled, as if they would crumble into powder at the touch. Their pitiful appearance makes people feel pity.

As for those pieces of meat, they were "beyond recognition" to the extreme. Their surfaces were roasted as black as charcoal and still emitting wisps of steam, as if they were crying silently, telling of the "tragic experience" they had suffered during the cooking process. People couldn't help but wonder whether they were food or some kind of burnt unidentified objects.

The corners of Yin Yue's mouth twitched unconsciously a few times. It was his body's instinctive reaction to this horrible scene.

His stomach began to churn, and an intense feeling of discomfort surged into his heart like a raging wave. He felt the contents of his stomach churning constantly, as if trying to burst through his throat and burst out.

He slowly raised his head and looked at Taoi Satsuki who was standing in front of him, only to find that she was looking at him expectantly, her eyes full of confidence and joy. There was a gleam in her bright eyes, as if she was waiting for Yin Yue to give a high evaluation of her "masterpiece", and she seemed to have not noticed any problems with the bento she made.
