Chapter 19 Ming Yazhi's Thoughts

Chapter 19 Ming Yazhi's Thoughts

Zhu Fan tapped the microphone lightly, checked the sound, and said, "Dear students, welcome to Mo Wan's birthday party."

Holding her laptop, Meng Mowan's vision cleared as she put her glasses back on. Hearing Zhu Fan's words, her face flushed crimson.

On the way here, Zhu Fan had told her beforehand that he wanted to turn this confession ceremony into her birthday party.

She nodded almost unconsciously.

She is actually most afraid of crowded occasions and is even more uncomfortable being watched by everyone.

But looking at the girl on stage who seemed to be shining, she suddenly realized that today's birthday would be unforgettable for her.

As Meng Mowan listened to the commotion in the crowd below the stage, her gaze was drawn to Zhu Fan, and she couldn't look away.

Zhu Fan smiled at her, and she would just keep smiling foolishly at Zhu Fan.

Ming Yazhi's smile froze.

"Afan, aren't you going to sue—"

"What? Isn't this a confession?"

"What is the goddess up to?"

Zhu Fan ignored the commotion below and Ming Yazhi's constant hints.

She pointed to the best seats in the audience below the stage, towards Meng Mowan.

Meng Mowan felt unconsciously nervous when she met those gazes fixed on her.

Under Zhu Fan's smiling gaze, she walked dizzily off the stage.

As I went down the steps, I felt dizzy and my legs were too weak to move.

Meng Mowan had only one thought at that moment.

She unexpectedly became another protagonist in this confession.

Oh, no, that's not right. It's the main character of this birthday party.

Ming Yazhi gracefully walked onto the stage, deliberately walking slowly to create a commotion among the crowd.

Zhu Fan seemed not to hear the voices from the audience.

Ming Yazhi thoughtfully took the microphone, saying, "Afan, you can play the piano in a bit, and I'll hold the microphone for you."

As long as she stands on the stage, as long as she holds this microphone, she has a way to keep this confession going.

She glanced at the girl sitting in the best seats, wearing black-rimmed glasses, laughing in a silly and unsophisticated way, hiding the disdain in her eyes.

Is this confession turning into a birthday party?

What's the big deal about having one more program? She spent all morning setting up the venue, and the auditorium that finally got approved for her event wasn't prepared for some country bumpkin who popped up out of nowhere.

Ming Yazhi glanced subtly at Rong Lewei in the crowd.

Weiwei, I'm sure you'll be happy with today's birthday present.

Zhu Fanluo sat down on the piano bench.

Ming Yazhi bent down and pointed the microphone at the piano.

"Mowan, please request a song."

Meng Mowan hugged her canvas bag tightly, stunned for a few seconds.

Zhu Fan did not urge her, but sat quietly on the stage waiting for her to think of a piece.

The original owner had passed the tenth grade piano exam, but her major instrument was the cello.

Her specialty is playing the pipa.

As long as Meng Mowan doesn't choose overly obscure pieces, she should be able to play them.

Daylily.

Zhu Fan smiled and said, "This poem about daylilies is for you."

"Happy birthday, Mowan."

The once noisy auditorium was suddenly muted as the girl on stage played the smooth, light notes.

The air was filled with the sweet aroma of cake and the rich fragrance of roses.

The girl on stage wore a pure white dress, her fingertips moving lightly, and her faint smile was captivating.

As the music played, Zhu Fan glanced apologetically at Meng Mowan.

She played a wrong note.

She can play this piece, but she's not very proficient at it.

Meng Mowan covered her lips, feeling both excited and happy.

She was so lucky today.

Wen Yuxing picked up the robot playing with the apple. He wasn't interested in the music; his focus was on Zhu Fan, not on her confession.

"Xiao Ji, it's not a confession, it's not a confession, it's not a confession."

“mua, mua, mua”.

The robot turned its head, its disdain quite obvious.

Fang Qibai and Wen Yuxing were standing close together. When he saw Wen Yuxing suddenly acting strangely and erratically, he frowned slightly and moved aside.

He stopped watching Zhu Fan play on the stage. "Last night, Dad made me wait for you at home all night."

These words were spoken to Fang Qizhou.

Fang Qizhou's indifference and disdain made Fang Qibai's voice turn cold.

"You should return the punch I threw at you."

Fang Qizhou didn't even lift his eyelids.

Wen Yuxing frowned. "Stay away from my brother Zhou and don't fucking talk to him."

Wherever Fang Qibai is, his brother Zhou will inevitably be tainted by bad luck.

On the surface, everyone thinks that Fang Qibai is being tormented to death by Fang Qizhou, his illegitimate son.

But when Zhou Ge first returned to the Fang family, he was almost pushed into the swimming pool by Fang Qibai and drowned.

He was excellent in both character and academics, and possessed a pure and upright character.

Pah!

And then there's Fang Qibai's neurotic mother, who knows that her son Zhou is allergic to peanuts, so she deliberately puts peanut butter in his food.

His brother Zhou had such an allergic reaction that he went into shock. If it weren't for his cheap father returning in time, the grass on his brother's grave would be as tall as him by now.

Wen Yuxing's raised fist did not land on Fang Qibai's face.

Fang Qizhou grasped Wen Yuxing's fist with one hand and pressed it down gently.

Wen Yuxing's face was contorted with pain, but he didn't dare make a sound under Zhou Ge's gaze.

He followed his brother Zhou's gaze and looked back at Zhu Fan on the stage.

Wen Yuxing suddenly realized that the reason his brother Zhou wouldn't let him beat up Fang Qibai now was probably because Zhu Fan hadn't finished playing the piano yet.

The feuds and conflicts between the brothers offstage were completely unknown to Zhu Fan onstage.

From Fang Qizhou's angle, all he could see was the girl's smooth, black hair draped over her shoulders and her white skirt trailing on the ground.

The view was narrow and was quickly blocked.

The song ended.

Ming Yazhi glanced at the audience who were still not satisfied with the performance, and her hand holding the microphone tightened.

Zhu Fan's radiance made her appear dull and lifeless.

It's been like this since I was little.

Jealousy welled up in her eyes, but she suppressed it.

She pointed the microphone at herself, "Afan, besides this song 'Daylily Flower,' you prepared other surprises for Fang Qibai, right?"

"Confession."

"Confession."

"Confession."

...

The rhythm was picked up almost instantly.

Zhu Fan remained seated on the piano bench without rising. "Ming Yazhi."

The cold, aloof way Zhu Fan called out his name left Ming Yazhi unsure of what he was thinking.

"Didn't you want to confess your feelings? We've been planning and discussing this for so long."

"It's all to give Fang Qibai a surprise..."

Ming Yazhi's voice was transmitted to the ears of everyone present through the microphone.

When Ming Yazhi came up to take the microphone, she had anticipated the scene that was about to unfold.

With Ming Yazhi's sweet smile and her considerate tone, Zhu Fan smiled.

"What an amazing friendship! I'm almost moved to tears..."

Yi Jia sneered.

This supposedly divine friendship? Use your brain! This is clearly an enemy-friend situation.

Ming Yazhi covered her lips with emotion and handed the microphone to Zhu Fan.

After today, everyone at Peking University will know that Fang Qibai dislikes Zhu Fan.

Zhu Fan, aren't you high and mighty? Aren't you arrogant?

You shamelessly swallow your pride and chase after Fang Qibai, but Fang Qibai doesn't like you at all.

When Zhu Fan came to the auditorium, he thought of many solutions.

I also considered not showing up.

But it's too pathetic.

She saw Meng Mowan, whom she had only met today, in the audience, and who was worried about her being unable to leave the stage and becoming embarrassed. A warm feeling washed over her.

"I believe that all the students who came here today thought that a grand confession was about to take place."

"Ten minutes ago, I was notified that I was the person in this confession."

When Zhu Fan said these words, he looked at Fang Qibai seriously.

"Confessing your feelings is a matter of mutual consent between two people. If one party does not have such feelings, such a complicated and elaborate confession will only make people feel awkward."

“It’s foolish to waste school resources on things you think are touching.”

The girl's voice was soft, sincere, and open.

Ming Yazhi's smile froze slightly.

"Hey, it seems like Ming Yazhi and her girlfriends have been decorating the auditorium all morning."

“I heard that too. She said she wanted to give Zhu Fan a surprise.”

"Oh, you took it upon yourself to confess someone else's feelings?"

"If I had a best friend like that, I would be so touched."

"Touched? Don't you think that's awkward?"

Hearing the murmurs from the audience, Zhu Fan pointed to the flowers and cake in the hall and said, "The hall is beautifully decorated. I hope that when you leave, you can take some of these flowers and cake with you so that the hall can return to its original state."

Under the background lighting, Zhu Fan spoke softly, her dark eyes were as lively as a fox's, and her small pink lips, gleaming with a rosy luster, curved into a bright smile.

Someone started clapping.
