Chapter 47 Stunning

Chapter 47 Stunning

Under the watchful eyes of her elders and grandmother, Zhu Fan put down her chopsticks and stood up.

Ji Shu has already brought Zhu Fan's cello.

The violin's melodious music stopped, the last notes like a gentle night breeze caressing the treetops.

In the banquet hall, many people were still engrossed in the captivating violin music, not yet having had their fill of it.

Zhong Fei lowered her bow and smiled gently and quietly.

Applause erupted.

Zhong Fei bowed to express her gratitude, and when she looked up, she gave Zhu Fan a slight nod.

Zhu Fan, who had set up his cello and sat down, nodded in response.

The unspoken understanding between the two caused Zhu Fan's standard smile when facing elders to loosen slightly.

The bow gently glided across the four silver strings, and a velvety tone slowly rose from the maple wood resonator.

The laughter and chatter in the banquet hall ceased as everyone turned to look at the young woman playing the cello.

The coldness on Fang Qizhou's face dissipated somewhat when the girl looked at him.

Fang Qibai glanced at the girl playing at the main table, then his gaze returned to the wine glass in front of him.

Thinking of the hope in his mother's eyes as she looked at his father before he left, he downed the glass of red wine in one gulp.

Qiu Chen glanced at Fang Qibai with concern, then was drawn to the sound of the cello.

In the brightly lit banquet hall, crystal chandeliers reflected dazzling light, casting a radiant glow on the young woman's partially exposed shoulders. Her champagne-colored gown, with its flowing sleeves, cascaded gracefully beside her as she played the violin, shimmering with light.

Zhu Wan followed her sister's gaze without blinking.

She couldn't help but envy her older sister's confidence and beauty. But more than anything, she felt proud to have such an outstanding older sister.

Zhu Fan was immersed in the music.

The teacher said that music is meant to be enjoyed.

She agreed.

Zhu Fan's lips curved into a beautiful smile as she felt the light, dancing notes beneath her fingertips.

Zhong Fei stared intently at Fang Qizhou's back from a distance.

The man's gaze, from the moment he entered, was fixed solely on the girl playing the violin.

This was the first time she had discovered that someone could affect Fang Qizhou's emotions. Even, to make him happy.

Zhong Fei lowered her eyes, her dark eyes beneath long lashes filled with fervor, obsession, and fanaticism.

Fang Qizhou was the man she had held in her heart since she was 13 years old.

She lifted her eyelashes again, looked at Zhu Fan, and a slight smile appeared on her lips.

"Zhu Fan, is that it?" She stared at the girl mysteriously for a long time, then chuckled softly.

No one can take away the person she has chosen from her.

She came here tonight not because of Meng Yin or because she had helped her.

She came only for Fang Qizhou.

The girl had just smiled sweetly at Fang Qizhou, her beautiful eyes sparkling like a white rose touched by morning dew.

Fang Qizhou's usually cold and aloof eyes met the girl's gaze, and a smile appeared on his lips, a lazy and cynical expression on his face.

Zhong Fei gazed at all this, his dark eyes filled with the gloom before a storm.

She had never seen Fang Qizhou smile.

I've never seen him with such doting and tender eyes.

Zhu Fan rose amidst applause and a continuous stream of praise.

Grandma Zhu nodded in satisfaction, "I thought you'd been neglecting your piano practice lately, but it seems you haven't been slacking off. That's good."

Zhu Fan's heart was racing just from the slight smile on Fang Qizhou's lips.

Grandma called her to sit down for dinner, and she handed her cello to Aunt Shu.

The compliments and praises from the ladies at the table made Zhu Fan very envious of Qiu Chen's table.

Qiu Chen swirled the wine in his glass at her, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous and gloating look.

Zhu Fan glared at him.

When her gaze met Fang Qizhou's dark eyes, she touched her nose and looked away.

The girl's evasive gaze made Fang Qizhou's dark eyes turn cold and deep.

During the meal, the conversation began to revolve around their own children.

Many wives want their sons and daughters to show off.

The old lady noticed that her two granddaughters seemed a little distracted, and by then the dinner was already halfway through.

She no longer kept the two sisters in check.

Zhu Fan pulled Zhu Wan away and ran off.

Zhu Wan, arm in arm with her sister, turned to look at the girl who had started playing the guzheng.

The sound of the zither was so somber and desolate.

Once out of sight of her elders, she let out a soft sigh, “It feels like I’ve been released from prison.”

Zhu Fan led Zhu Wan to Qiu Chen's table, saying, "Let's find a quiet place to eat now."

Seeing that Zhu Fan had escaped the clutches of his grandmother with his younger sister, Qiu Chen quickly stood up, gave his seat to Zhu Wan, and asked someone to add a chair and some tableware.

Zhu Wan was a little embarrassed.

Zhu Fan gave Zhu Wan a reassuring look and then went to Fang Qizhou's side.

Qiu Chen pressed Zhu Wan, who was standing obediently without moving, to sit down.

"Qi Bai, doesn't this little sister look incredibly cute?"

Qiu Chen gave up his seat to Zhu Wan, who was now standing to Fang Qibai's left, while Qiu Chen moved to the right.

He chuckled softly and hummed in agreement.

This single tone, languid and light, makes one's ears unconsciously feel warm.

Zhu Wan couldn't help but pinch her slightly hot earlobe.

Fang Qibai removed the tableware that Qiu Chen had used from in front of Zhu Wan.

Zhu Fan caught a glimpse of A Yuan's rosy cheeks and smiled, his eyes crinkling.

A-Yuan's cheeks were now even pinker than the pink roses on the table.

Zhu Fan's dress was too long, making it difficult for her to sit down while holding it up.

Fang Qizhou lazily got up and pulled out the chair next to her that had been empty since the start of the banquet.

After Zhu Fan sat down, she smiled at him and said, "Fang Qizhou, you seem to be in a good mood tonight."

She sensed it.

The girl's skirt was piled up, covering the man's leather shoes.

Fang Qizhou smelled the fragrance brought by the girl in the air, his well-defined knuckles resting on the back of Zhu Fan's chair. "You've been giving me the cold shoulder all day. How do you know I'm in a good mood?"

Zhu Fan rested her chin on her hand and said, "I replied to your message."

Fang Qizhou stared at her with dark, unfathomable eyes.

Zhu Fan turned on his phone.

I don't know if there's a delay in the message or if my internet speed is bad.

There were three missed video calls in her chat with Fang Qizhou.

Zhu Wan secretly glanced at her sister and the man sitting beside her.

My sister and this seemingly cold and fierce-looking guy are so affectionate.

Zhu Fan forked a slice of apple covered in cream and held it to Fang Qizhou's lips, explaining with a smile, "You saw it just now too, there was a delay in receiving the message, I just received it."

Fang Qizhou took the apple from her hand.

His movements were unrestrained and roguish.

Noticing that someone at the main table was looking at them, Zhu Fan tugged at Fang Qizhou's clothes under the table.

Don't be too blatant.

Her hand, which reached for Fang Qizhou's clothes, was grabbed by the man's large hand.

The man's fingertips slipped between her fingers, their fingers intertwined.

Zhu Fan struggled for a moment, but couldn't break free.

"Fang Qizhou, I'm so hungry. Let go of my hand. I want to eat something."

She barely ate anything at the main table.

I was so hungry that my stomach was practically sticking to my back.

The plate in front of Zhu Fan was piled high with food that Fang Qizhou had put on it.

Fang Qizhou hooked the girl's hand and placed it on his leg.

Zhu Fan gripped the fork tightly with his left hand and used it to bite into the food, just like Fang Qizhou.

Zhu Wan was no longer so tense.

Fang Qibai removed the wine that Qiu Chen had poured for Zhu Wan and replaced it with a glass of orange juice.

Qiu Chen slapped his forehead, "I forgot our sister isn't an adult yet."

Zhu Wan was curious about the beautiful wine in the stemmed glass.

She had never drunk wine.

I don't know what it tastes like.

Following the girl's gaze, Fang Qibai placed the wine back in front of her.

With her sister's encouraging gaze, Zhu Wan took a sip.

It tastes good.

This time, she didn't just sip; she took a full sip.

Seeing that she was drinking quickly, Fang Qibai used clean chopsticks to pick up a shrimp for her.

Zhu Wan covered her lips and coughed.

The girl in front of me had eyes like a clear spring, bright and clear.

Fang Qibai handed her the juice and took the glass of red wine.

It took Zhu Wan a long time to stop coughing, and her face was burning hot.

Fang Qibai laughed out loud.

Zhu Fan reminded A Yuan, "Eat something to calm your nerves."

She gave Qiu Chen a warning look, telling him not to give A-Yuan any more wine.

The sound of the violin began again.

Zhu Fan placed the plate of creamy apples in front of Fang Qizhou.

She discovered that Fang Qizhou really liked apples.

Fang Qizhou did not move.

Zhu Fan held up his fork and forked a piece for himself.

Before it could even be brought to his lips, Fang Qizhou lowered his head and snatched it away.

The man smirked, biting into an apple with a roguish grin.

A violin string snapped.

The banquet hall was silent for a few seconds.

Zhong Fei looked apologetically at the guests.

Meng Yin got up; the dinner was almost over.

She asked the guests to move outside.

Tonight, she prepared a grand fireworks show for A-Yuan.
